The BR class 455 has reached the end of the line on Southern. Introduced in 1982 they end thier days in May 2022. Here we see an 8 car set departing East Croydon for London Bridge on the last weekeday of operation 12/05/2022
I think Southern do still have a few of these around - I often see them at Havant station when travelling down from London to visit the family. No mistaking their loud compressor sound
@@BadDriversOz the irony is - even at close on 40 years old, these are more reliable than their replacements in some cases 🤣 The 455s with South Western Railway were supposed to be replaced in 2019 with the class 701… the 701s haven’t even entered service yet because they’ve had so many problems!
