This is so helpful. I have fine hair and my hair grows away from the loc. I haven’t retwisted in 3 mos and this happened to me, I was told semi free form is good for all hair. I’ll retwist more often. Maybe every 4-6 wks instead. Thank you

I am 9 mths into my loc journey, I started with about 3" of hair and loc extentions done by my daughter as a 1st timer. Thank God for your Video tutorials. For 8 mths I have been crocheting and interlocking, reataching, wrapping...lol. folks don't be fooled with DYI, if you pay someone good money make sure they know what they are doing. I am good my daughter was free...lol. now I finally got my extentions to stay in and I am dealing with myy hair constantly growing from my locs, it gotta be this 4c shrinkage...lol. I would love to go months just leaving my hair alone but if I do, my hair would look just like the lady in this video. One of these days I hope to have you bless my crown. This video was perfect. I am 1 year locked with a head full of micro locs. A few of my locs are thinning most likely because of tension from keeping them in cornrows and using edge control. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to repair the damage without using any fake hair... This technique looks like it would work out perfectly. So happy to have found your video! I started my 2-strand twist locs (short, thin hair) in August 2022. I "tried" the finger part method, uhhh, that was not a good choice! I am a disabled veteran and my finger parts don't look like they right...lol! Problem: some of my locs are budded, most are NOT...front half of my locs just won't loc, regularly untwist and basically, I don't know wtf I'm doing. This is exactly what's happening to my locs! I get my locs retwist every 2 months and I have fine hair and I will admit that I do not oil my hair often within those 2 months and my scalp and locs are dry. I have to do better. For a while I was wondering what was going on with my hair and how to fix it and now I know.

i started my locs 22 years ago, and no tools and few methods were available. all these advantages are super helpful, and your willingness to share the knowledge is very much appreciated! i've always done my own upkeep, but these methods will help me maintain, and less frequently. i've had the tendency to let them go lately, but it seems my hair is thinning, and the grays a mind of their own! hoping this will help. question: are the hooks on the tool facing towards the head or upwards towards you? thank you again for sharing!

This is the best way to repair your locks adding hair that doesn't grow from your head is a death sentence to your whole loc journey I hate seeing people wrap fake hair to their locks it only weighs it down and creates more tension to the scalp uhh

I may start loc'ing my boyfriends hair, since for years I've been twisting it and he has told me he would like locs. If I start the locs from the usual twists, could I use the felting tool to 1: initially matte them together faster and skip some beginner stages. And 2: maintain the parts monthly or so like how you've done in this video?

This is sooo timely 😩 my new growth doesn’t grow into the locs especially around my ears and crown. Can I do this without retwisting? I’m tryning to challenge myself ,due to the thinning , to not retwist but ever 4-6 months but yeah my big problem is my hair doesn’t grow into the loc.
