In this video we plant 2 separate food plots using 2 different methods of soil prep. The first plot was sprayed then disced up. The 2nd Plot was a stagnant hay field for years. It had to be plowed because there was way too much sod to try and disc it or till it up. The seed we plant is Whitetail Institute Winter-Greens and their Beets & Greens mix. This is a perfect example of 2 different ways to plant fall food plots and get the same results. Winter-Greens and Beets & Greens have a great variety of late season Brassicas that will provide tonnage for the deer I the winter. Winter-Greens has a mix of forage rape, multiple kale varieties, and purple top turnips. Beets & Greens offers similar forage including forage rape, kale, purple top turnips as well as dakion radish and sugar beets. All these Brassica varieties will stay lush and green well into December and January here in Wisconsin. The hard frosts and cold temps really sweeten up the leaves of all these varieties and make them very attractive to deer. These 2 products are a deer magnet in the winter months and would make a great hunting plot in the late season archery or muzzleloader season.
