Great video Jemma, I’ve given up tramping after 30 years or so , those porridge pots were a life saver 🤣, like you say it’s hard to eat healthy on the road , I always cooked in the cab myself , keep up the good work, keep smiling stay safe 😎
Hi Jemma, Just found your channel. How lovely to see what you get up to. You past my house going to Portland and I see these lorries all the time. Nice to see who actually drives these monsters. Brilliant, thank you
Jemma, have you done any videos on spending cold nights in the truck? Also about how you started, right from getting used to how the truck works etc? Any tips and tricks for people thinking about getting into trucking? And how is it being away from home during the week? How is your work-life balance? Thanks! Sam x
Another brilliant video Jemma I used to drive a Guy Invincible with a Cummings engine in …..wait for it in 1971 it’s so fascinating for me to see all your videos and the brilliant stuff you’ve got in your cab 👍👍
A lovely bit of countryside around there Jemma, no wonder you enjoy driving. Everything seemed to go well for you on that trip, makes a change I'll bet. Enjoyed sharing the day with you thanks. Take care.
Good morning hope you are well hope you have a great day. Love to watch your videos and u will be sprised on haw much i have learnt from you as I resantley past my class one and I'm doing much the same work as you thank ever so much xx
Good job we know what you mean when you said 'Go to see the chap so he can sample me' haha. That car was making a hash of that 3 point turn. I must admit i always stand back in awe when watching drivers reversing and thinking it looks hard. But, you make it look so easy
Jemma thank you for your hard work you do on the videos! I'm disabled and yours and your colleagues are my eye's on the world, I live in Dorset so seeing the countryside that is around is fantastic! Andy
Hi Andy, Jemma does a great job and as a Scottish farmer that meets a few lorry drivers she's very skilled, we do have some lady drivers up here as well 👍 Funny enough as a Scot I enjoy seeing the English countryside but pity her on those narrow lanes with lots of cars. I also follow a chap from America, Casey Ladell Cascade Heavy Rescue in Oregon, I love getting to see the Oregon scenery he does his rescues in. He does his off road rescues for free because of his RU-vid channel. Nice chap and the countryside might interest you as it does me. All the best 👍 Greetings from Scotland 👍
Thank you! It’s comments like these that really makes these videos worthwhile. Hope you can get out and see it with your own eyes occasionally. We really do live in a beautiful part of the world ☺️
How about using a small funnel, pop it into the top of your empty 2l bottle and tip from the container...at ground level...and then jump up and empty in the bottle contents after removing the cap. Maybe take two up. Just a thought! x 😀😀😀 🙂🙂🙂
I'm puzzled. You drive a Scania, but you have "The Flying Dutchman" on your side windows. Usually a reference to a DAF. You're confusing me. Great video and your skills are amazing.
I think it takes maybe a year and I’ve seen a lot of drivers after that time become over confident and then maybe anothe year for the over confidence to settle and then it becomes easier. I would say every year that passes you will feel more competent but every driver will feel like they are not cut out for it when something goes wrong even if they have been drive for 20/30 years
Great vlog Jemma I’m currently watching all your vlogs I’m a big follower of Scott Andrew, Luke C in a HGV , trucker J … and I must say your doing a fantastic job.. plus your hot 🤣🤣👍🏻😍
It’s the taking part that counts. Looking rough first thing , though.. gps will sort out an indigestion tablet called Omeprazole, I used to suffer daily both from acid reflux combined with very varied times for meals. Amazing results i can now also eat chillis again, loved for years then this dreaded indigestion prevented me enjoying spicy food. Do it do it hunt down a doctor, go forth and enjoy random dinner times at your leisure.
With big engines such as your diesel truck I would encourage all drivers to keep their engine oil level to the max at all times. The oil is a lubricant and it also goes through a heat exchanger to keep the optimum temperature of the engine, so less oil in the system the more the system has to cope with conditions. Also if you are away from the depot so much adding all the fluids to the vehicle should you should have with each vehicle a means of filling the various liquids safely. Regarding the coolant loss that to me shouldn't happen it should always be at the right level if you are constantly having to top it up then there is a slow leak somewhere and would suggest the garage take a look at it.
Excellent video once again, pretty sure that corner where you said cars always come round quick was on an Ashley Neal road safety video recently, and its breakfast, dinner and tea (I'm Northern) haha.
Heartburn from late eating can lead to duodenal ulcers or similar so don't eat much for 2-3 hours before bed. Cuppa cocoa and a biscuit is sufficient at bedtime. My heartburn got so bad I fainted with syncope! Very frightening!
For some years here in Oz I did a new furniture run in a semi along the NSW South Coast. Heaps of traffic, narrow streets and tourists. I almost lived on Alka Seltzers and ended up in Wollongong hospital with what I thought was a heart attack but was actually only anxiety and traffic stress. The heartburn was from the stress, not from bad eating or curries. In the end I practiced slow and deep breathing like a Yogi, anytime the heartburn hit. Pull over, shut eyes, breath six seconds in, wait a few seconds then six seconds out, for a minute. The heartburn vanished and never came back.
Thank you Jemma for the wonderful content you post, I have been watching since the carnival videos, I really enjoy watching your new videos, Especially this video when you went to Portland where I lived years ago and still have family living, keep up the good work
Jemma, I think you’re amazing!! It’s so lovely to see there are true professional drivers on the roads!! Your passion & professionalism shines through!! 👌 Take care and best wishes 🙏
2:12 I'd pour the coolant into the bottle and then from the bottle to the reservoir. My back is be so grateful at every time. It takes a bit longer but dodge SSP at £96/week in case of a back sprain when all ligaments are not warmed up yet in the morning... Loved watching you, though. You are so Epic !
I used to drive buses and minibuses. I was one of the only drivers that did vehicle checks. That one button light checker fab. Hard to check nigh impossible on own. Picked up a bus from repairers once and 1 mile along road bus brakes locked up and slewed sideways on road fortunately no damage to human or property. However blocked both lanes of very busy junction. Recovery hard cos rear brakes locked apparently.😳
5:19 Blink and you'll miss it but this used to be Wayne's Bar & Bistro on the A303. I'm sure Jemma will remember as she must have driven past it 100's of times.
Awesome cone stop 🚛 to all the women out there watching this that are thinking it's a man's world to drive a truck you are all so wrong I would have probably driving over it 😱
@@jemmawarren27 was kinda thinking that but taught them big Mills etc would have a grid to back up on and a system to take it faster Thanks for reply and great videos
I just got myself a low wattage air fryer...works perfectly with a 3000 watts inverter. .cooking healthy food now as you know very important in are job.
Absolutely love watching your videos. My sister introduced me to the videos. Whilst I was in hospital. I’m so glad she did. My niece and nephew are well into the carnival scene in the West Country. We’re all from Wellington. Do you think you might be at the Wellington carnival this year.
Thank you! I’m glad she did too. Wellington isn’t one that we do and is normally on the run up to ours where we are all busy working on our carts so it’s not one in generally able to attend
I remember when they built the M4 connection from Maidenhead, Berk dow to South Wales - The Constant Convoy of those Old Lorries both ways (Without Power-Steering and all the other Mod-Cons Truckers take for granted now) was Mind-Boggling .... The Speed at which it was being built with thoe HUUUUGE Earth Scrapers and Dumper Trucks was ALSO quite magical ... I'm sure it was Amey's who were the main contractor ... We take the Motorways for granted, but for those of us who remember JUST 'A' roads they were something 'really special' 😄 .... I HATE! them NOW - With a Vengeance 😠😡
I love watching it all being built. And yes such a massive undertaking. Imagine the roads now if they never built them 😳😳 you would definitely hate them then 🤣
Hi Jemma and greetings from Arctic North Never catch your load weight 23+ tonnes and about a half grab? When I do overseas Uk and IX shipping, it goes 27-29 tonnes @ six axles. Maybe its unloaded right at the ports, Imm. Fel. Thanks for your videos🤗 Thom Truck
Bloody hell jemma I wish you would stop making this reversing look so easy in that truck 😂 Don’t be getting too much wine Sunday don’t want you overcooking the potatoe again 😆 Loving the views on the journey 😊
It is hard to stay healthy isn't it, I try eat best I can and always bring my own food, salad, fruit, weetabix, yogurts etc (have a treat or fast food once a week).. I never noticed them veggie pots for microwave before will have to try em 🙌 were they aldi? 🤔 I felt sorry for your jacket potato though 😊 also great photo of gramps & yourself.. Keep the videos lit love em 💥
Thank you. My treat day is normally a Friday but if I feel like I need a pick me up treat through the week I will change the day. Yes in Aldi but pretty sure you can get them in most places. Also you can make your own just by microwaving veggies in a Tupperware☺️
Awww nice to see female drivers. I'm an ex class one female driver in the 80s and 90s. I used to either get treated really nice or some men would try hard to make me look stupid.😊 I live in west Dorset so you not that far away from me on ur drive here. Do you ever go near Bridport?
Yes it’s still the same with how you get treated. Although I’ve seen and heard blokes get spoken to like crap too, just because they are drivers. Yes we go through Bridport quite regularly☺️
