👋🏼 Welcome to one minute rehab, we will share a rehabilitation plan for lateral epicondylalgia, from the acute phase until the return to sport. Let's go !
-
⚡️Phase 1 & 2: ISOMETRIC Contractions: With a cortico-muscular inhibition effect, the isometric contraction allows the tendon to be gradually recharged by limiting pain.
-
🎖️ Phase 3: Muscle relaxation: The wrist extensor muscles are often contracted in the context of lateral epicondylalgia. Manual work on the muscle mass and the epicondylar tendon could reduce local pain.
-
🤸🏻♂️Phase 4: Eccentric SLOW speed and Eccentric FAST speed: Eccentric resistance speed variations to modify the load placed on the tendon.
-
💥Phase 5: FLOSSING: Fairly recent technique, requiring even more scientific evidence as mentioned by Konrad et al. 2021, flossing has different fields of activity: increasing amplitude, reducing pain and decreasing DOMS sensations etc. Used here for analgesic purposes with constant compression on the tendon, flossing allows you to work on certain specific movements.
-
🧬 Phase 6: Radial shock waves: Shock waves are very present today in current physiotherapy and prescribed by more and more doctors for the rehabilitation of lateral epicondylalgia. We identify 4 main effects of shock waves: analgesic (gate control), metabolic (neoangiogenesis + vascularization), biological and mechanical (microtraumas stimulating a healing reaction). The new Intelect®️ RPW 2 from Chattanooga®️ combines different innovations for effective and better patient acceptance treatments. The Intelect®️ RPW2 allows the processing of radial pressure wave indications and includes a comfort mode that allows a gradual increase in power.

🏋🏻♀️Phase 7: Plyometrics + return to sport
