For the people who are just now watching Netflix. Laura Cañales was like a Magic Johnson in the Tejano music industry for female, before Jordan came in the Game, which was Selena.
Selena was a very good singer and entertainer. I was a big fan until she started the "Bidi Bidi Bon Bon" genre. Laura on the other hand, the one I idolized more, had the bigger voice and could sing any song that Rocio Durcal, another one of my favorite Mexican music singers, just as well. I did a comparison of a song they both did and I couldn't decide which one I like more. They were both fantastic. Selena also did a Rocio Durcal cover, but she did it in the real Tejano style. She also sounded very good and I liked both styles. Laura also could sing in English. I give Selena thumbs up as an entertainer with a very good voice, and Laura thumbs up as the better voice. I never stopped thinking of Laura Canales as the Queen of Tejano music. That is my opinion.
ke chulada de voz dam she was bad lastima ke lla no esta con nosotro la Riena preciosa de oro tenia todas las cualidades 100.% we love u eras un cantante estuuupenda ke poco se dan enla tierra gracias asu padres mi respetos 😇😇😇😇🤧🤧
Laura and Selena they were both each the best in their own respective time. I want to believe that Laura passed the torch on to Selena.
See, even white boys like some Tejano music. Born n raised in South Texas. Selena and Laura were both smokin' hot. 🔥 👍
Laura was one of my best famous Mexican singer ever no one else can sings like her I like a lob hairstyle I'm not Mexican but I'll Auburn musical style of singing rest in peace Laura I wish I could have talked to you before you wraps off Aloha from 80 we miss you Aloha forever the name Eddie
@needmyzapp I agree with you 100% I grew up listening to Tejano Music and she was the queen of Tejana music even though I love Selena Laura Canales started it all
Laura Canales was La Reina of tejano music,Selena was better known as La Reina tejano cumbia singer,it would be an insult to pick one over the other as who was the best
Excuse me but Selena was never known as just a tejano 'cumbia' singer. She was much more than that, a very versatile singer. Selena was known as the Queen of Tejano Music. So was Laura Canales, in her own time.
They lip synced on American bandstand and other tv shows too. YOu have to remember that the Johnny Canales show didn't have any high tech audio equipment. One or two mics does not cut it because it would make the bands sound pretty bad. The couldn't mix the music correctly. Now the Tejano music awards, back in the day, had sound engineers who mixed the bands music, which consisted of high end musicians and sound engineers, live and run straight to their audio transmissions using several mics and a mixing board. That's why if you listen to some of the videos of the Tejano Music awards, they'll sound really good.
