La Reyna De La Onda Chicana Tejana Ms. Laura Canales(R.I.P), La Que Abrio Camino A Las Mujeres Dentro De La Industria Tejana, Una Singer Voice Muy Bonita Y Con Una Voz Poderosa Que Marco Epoca En La Industria.
I did not know she passed away. I am now 42 years old so I remember the tail end of the greats. Man I miss our real Tejano. Now our kids listen to only english or if it is spanish it is this reggaeton. Glad they are listening to something in spanish... how ever it ain't what most of us watching this video would listen to. Bring back real Tejano... along with the youngsters making menudo, tortillas from scratch and us men cooking the cabeza de res en el pozo.... all just memeories. Luckily my wife does the tortillas and a bad ass menudo. Any way love you raza and never forget we are the true and original Tejanos y Tejanas....
No disrespect to Laura or her contribution to Tejano music but we all know who the real queen still is. Careers, accomplishments, legacies, voices, etc. Etc. No comparison.
Such beautiful memories with this song...remembering my mom cooking in the kitchen listening to Laura. They sure don't make them like her anymore. RIP Laura.
Just cause she was around first doesn’t mean she paved the way. Let’s be real. Who put tejano on the map? The Tejana who won a Grammy against Vicente Fernandez and Los Tigres Del Norte. The Tejana that sold the most albums of any Tejano artist. The Tejana that was in a Hollywood movie and had one made about her that still airs on tv 23 years later. The Tejana that guest starred in a huge Mexican novela. The Tejana who broke and held a pop mainstream record beating out Madonna, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson at the time. The Tejana whose songs still sound fresh and whose voice was a strong, versatile, powerful god-given talent. That’s who! And that’s why the people named her the queen!
guava juice I totally agree with you. SELENA will always be the #1 👑 point blank period. Until this day, Selena is adored by millions of fans all over the world. That is what a successful artist is. I ❤️ Selena.
Joseph Rubio-Picazo agree... but if it was not for the Laura's and Elsa Garcia's and what not of the world I wonder if it would have paved the way for Selena. Just saying.
IT'S ALWAYS SELENA THIS OR THAT BUT LAURA WAS THE ONE AND ONLY QUEEN!!!SELENA WAS GOOD NO DISS BUT LAURA PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL THE FEMALES ARTIST INCLUDING SELINA ELSA SHELLY PATSY AND SO ON SELENA HAD A DIFFERENT STYLE!!! BUT THE TITLE OF LA REINA WILL ALWAYS BE THE LATE GREAT LAURA.C
Joseph Rubio-Picazo: Selena gained more popularity and went into Mexico after she abandoned the Ranchera Tejano Music syle and went into the "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" style. La Mafia and Emilio also became more popular when they went the conjunto style and into Mexico. The big record companies killed Tejano music when they began pushing Tejano artists into cumbias and conjunto style music forgetting the real Tejano sound that made Tejano music rise up, which is what attracted the big record labels and more Tejano radio stations to prop up. What worked for Selena, La Mafia, and Emilio Navaira did not work for all the popular Tejano artists or the Tejano Music genre. Now we have mostly Conjunto music and a few radio stations which call themselves Tejano stations, but are really conjunto music stations. The record labels killed the music that brought them here, and then left. They wanted to expand the music by changing it. What they expanded were cumbias and conjuntos, taking the heart out of the real Tejano music which they killed. Radio stations went down, Tejano fans moved on, and the record labels are nowhere to be found.
3viño1 so you think Tejano died a lot earlier, hmm interesting. You often hear people mentioning the death of Selena as the cause for the downfall of tejano being somewhat mainstream. Interesting to hear your comment, coz I do think the Amor prohibido Album literally sounded more like mainstream Latin pop 😂😂than this type of tejano I’m hearing Laura sing.
