LAVA MEAD - How Hot is our Chile Mead? Spicy Capsicumel Honey Wine

When you're gifted chiles, you have to make use of them, right? Well, my Brother in Law gave us some home grown Madame Jeannettes and Scorpions so.... we made a mead. A capsicumel to be precise!
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Chilis: 2 parts Madame Jeannette, 1 part Scorpion
1/2 Packet SafAle US-04 yeast: amzn.to/4azwNE6
1 Cup Black Tea steeped in 8 oz of water

86 oz (2.543 liters) Water

I watch on my tv when in bed late at night. I find Brian's voice very soothing for some reason especially when he goes off on a rant. Puts me in a good mood before going to sleep.Hes like the Bob Ross of home brewing. I also get alot of info for making my own brews.

This looks so interesting! If my toddler is awake and we are doing screen time, then I watch on my phone while he watches a show on the tv. If we don’t have a screen time morning, than I watch on the big tv during his nap. Preferably tv. Sometimes I play one of your videos to help me go to sleep. Your content is interesting enough to keep my brain from thinking of other things, but I can close my eyes and follow along, opening my eyes every so often but mostly I can fall asleep to your channel 🤣

I watch videos sometimes on my phone, other times on my laptop. I have long had theory that people who live in places where water quality is in question generally eat spicy foods. I think there is something in the spices that neutralizes the effects of the poor quality water. That's why we eat wassabi with sushi, to kill bacteria in the raw fish. Great video.

To answer your question on which device I use, it's usually my phone. It's just more handy most of the time. And two comments about the video. First, the whip attachment that was mentioned (from what I have read) is more for when you backsweeten. It's supposedly designed to mix the honey into the brew with minimal splashing (ie doesn't allow much oxygen to get in, if any). The drill attachment to use for initial mixing is the one with the wings that spread out as it goes faster. And two, is in reference to how you said "wash your hands" near the beginning. It reminded me of a character from "Rocko's Modern Life" (Philbert? the turtle). "You turn the page, you wash your hands..."

I watch on my laptop computer, with a decently sized external monitor. I've currently got a capsicumel with Desert Creek honey going. It's one I keep re-making for myself. But unlike your experience, I've only found vegetal flavors when I used a fresh jalapeño, so I use dried guajillo, ancho, pasilla etc that I de-seed and then add dried chile de arbol for a heat level that you notice but doesn't make it challenging to drink. I agree completely with you that heat is fine, but chiles have a nice flavor that I want to experience too.
