Lawrence Fishburne recites E.E. Cumming's "Freedom Is a Breakfast Food" on Craig Ferguson 5-13-09 deeds cannot dream what dreams can do -time is a tree (this life one leaf) but love is the sky and i am for you just so long and long enough
I just love how the host Ferguson is looking at Larry; such rapt attention. Its a wonderful thing!! I know they are on a tv program, thus quite contrived, yet it is just such a sublime moment. The kind we could wish we had given to a really wonderful teacher, who was sharing something really sublime with us.🖤😍👁😊❤
beautiful. this is only the second ee Cummings poem i"ve ever heard and I loved them at first" sight". must read more of his word in depth and Mr. Fishburne is a consummate actor. deeds cannot dream what dreams can do.
He said it so well. Except for the last part he got it round the wrong way. "Long enough and just so long". The order is meant to change for the last one to, just so long and long enough. I think that line makes the whole poem.
