I was 10 years old when Layla was put out on the air waves. I've heard it 10,000 times since then, and I am still hypnotized by it today. Favorite song of all time. 10cc's I'm not in love is right behind

That piano coda was written by Rita Coolidge. She never got credit for it -- she was ripped off.

I have a suggestion for a new rock song. I just started to learn the introduction to Firth of Fifth (Genesis) and would love to see how a good player approaches learning this song. There are lots of time signature changes 2/4 to 13/16 and some 15/16. I´m finding it challenging especially at the correct tempo.

You didn’t even finish the video. Your part two starts without the rest of part one. Rubbish.

Listen to Rita Coolidge, the original composer, how it's played the right way.

These lessons are NOT transcriptions. If you're looking for that, I'd suggest purchasing a transcription book

I feel a bit like you I seem to have done so much theory but can not sit down and play a song to impress a friend and just for my own pleasure and satisfaction. I would like to use your free lessons first to see how I go cheers Jude

I always just tried to play the song skipping the theory, I know a bit of theory, but the three of you (Willie, Judith & Mark) were taught right.

yeah obviously your great but im not or I wouldn't need a lesson. out of all the versions you sound 100 pct on and I want to learn from you but I need baby steps could you slow it down on left the hand with the alternating thank you
@corazondenj

I fail to see how it's helpful to play it so fast that there's no way whatsoever to follow it. The tutorial is useless if you have to constantly stop and take your hands off the keyboard to pause your phone litrrally every 2 seconds between chords to see what they are before you move your hands again. Is this to teach students? Because nobody who is new to this and still learning from the beginning can benefit from seeing you play it at full speed and never once stop to slow down and actually show us what you're doing at a workable pace.....this video just ended up making me too annoyed to even want to try

Dorothy thanks for your comment. The samples on RU-vid are just from a snippet of the lesson, but even though I strive strike a balance between taking and showing, talking is still necessary. I want my students to know WHAT they are playing and not just learn by watching me. Thanks for your comment.
