Five years after you have published this video and still the best practical illustration of fault finding I have ever seen.... 25 years in the electronic trade myself. Well done.. to the point and straight forward.
Thanks for the video. It was helpful to see the troubleshooting process. For the benefit of future viewers, the video boils down to: 1. Checking voltage across the circuit to see roughly where the issue occurs. 2. Replacing a bunch of capacitors that seemed faulty (but it turned out they were OK?) 3. Replacing a transformer that seemed faulty (which was faulty and this fixed the issue). It's good to see the tiny tips and tricks used in the video (e.g. bridging the 3.3V pin with the ON/OFF pin to mimick pressing the power button the circuit?).
@@hambatuhan4309 Unfortunately I'm not aware of what transformer was used. The video doesn't zoom in enough to read the model number on it. However, if you plan on doing some repairs, I would suggest reading the model number of the transformer on the defective board, and ordering the same transformer to ensure equivalent electrical properties.
Awesome video. I just wish everyone could convey their message as clearly as this gentleman. He has a way of explaining things that everyone can understand. Kudos to you sir.
He didn't explain anything in this video, he was just testing various components that are most likely to fail and can be easily tested with a meter. There was no REPAIR in this video, only some basic trouble shooting. I was doing this sort of testing at the age of 16. Big deal, he tested a fuse some diodes and a cap, the transformer wasn't faulty but he gave an indication that it was.
Tip: don’t use such a stiff bristle brush to clean the board and don’t be so rough. This could make your problems worse if you dislodge something that was already working. Compressed air is best or a smaller detail brush.
Without the XMFR, there will be no high voltage for the fluorescent tubes, so the display will be black. I had one of these, one of the fluorescent tubes was duff, dragging down the output, the power supply protection circuit activated and turned off the supply to stop the smoke from coming out. Tossed it and went to the Salvation Army Thrift Store and found one just like it for $9.99.
Same card new chahiye, kaha se milega aur approx price kya hogi? Because mere case me power supply ki IC aur backlight LED ka step up transformer bhi kharab hai jo mil nahi raha hai
My local Burger King got rid of two NEC p462 multisync monitors I disassemble them and cleaned them thoroughly one of them turned without a problem I been using that one it's what I watch TV game and run my pictures on the other one the after plugging in it and turning it on the screen lights up then goes black and a red light begins to Blink on the bottom right corner of the trim then turns off the entire system what could be wrong question
Hi Thks for your guide.Mine is a bit different than this psu. My model is ADP-40AF of an acer flat scrren. Blowing fuse plug now. Cannot find exact fault.
Hi Sir, thx a lot for your precious video. I think that my power board (samsung 19'') have the same failure of your. In your power board the short are in the primary winding? Practically all inverter has a primary "short". Moreover, how is it possible that a broken inverter (section for high voltage power led lamp) prevents reading the low voltage of 5V at the output of the board? There is something that is not clear to me
my monitor power supply has 8.5Vdc at output of main bridge rectifier and 0.14Vac at output of switching transformer no output voltage but it shock me even switch button.
Yo tengo un chasis igual, y no encontré ningún componente abierto ni en corto, todos los capacitores están en buen estado, no hay corto en los transistores, que elemento podrá estar dañado?
Im not trying to hate or anything but I would highly not recommend this video for anybody for a couple main reasons. 1 there is no guidance or step by step directions which is highly very important when using a voltage meter with live boards and electricity. 2 you don't tell or show anyone how to use or what setting should the voltage meter be on and the connections not showing or even mentioned when switching modes to live power, which is very dangerous. Having the the connections from the first testing and not switched can electricute the people that doesn't know anything about having to switch them. For future videos that you create please specify the main important safety concerns with basic step by step instructions. I say this cuz I do not know how to use a multi meter on every mode and what connections do need switched. But dc I do know and 1 other but not a.c. mode. Although I have had used a.c. mode before with live wire but it was already setup by a friend that knew how to use it and also explained to me on what way the mode and connections go for a.c. but since I ain't used that mode in a long time I forgot which way it all goes
May I request a schematic diagram of that printed circuit board to know the path layout.. If you check the component in resistance circuit board the value of component like diode, resistor change. and there is no exact value resistance test to be measured whether it us defective or not. Unless you re. Move it from the circuit board.
I REALLY NEED HELP the monitor is a mg248q, when I plug it in the indicator light comes on right away and stays on at all times unless it unplugged. The display port is broken because I broke it. The other ports are fine but nothing shows up on the screen when I plug other things in and I can't get the monitor to do anything its just a black screen no menu PLEASE SOMEONE HELP I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ONLINE!
Very nice video. I have lg 42lf20fr. Problem - When I start the TV it turns on, picture displays for 3 to 5 seconds and then the TV goes back to standby mode. Power LED remains on. It is like TV has been switched off. Any idea of what can be the causes? Thanks in advance.
I have LG model 65UK6500AUA, when I it turn on my TV with in 30 to 60 seconds it turn off and then turns on again. I can push the off button on remote and will turn off. I read couple of places it my sleep timer is set and for me to go to settings and turn off sleep timer the only problem the turns off to fast for me to able to do that process. Help
Hello sir! i have a similar problem. The voltages on the output pins are flickering and not stable and the tv is not turning on.. Checked capacitors or any other burnt signs and havent seen anything suspicious. Do you have any clue to where i should start measuring or removing first?
On my samsung plasma tv that has no power or standby red light. I took the back of tv off.i looked at the front of the tv and i see 4 small dime size white dots. And i looked at back where they are coming from and there are 2 black with silver holder. I took it off than i got 3 white dime size dots, right behind the black and silver bracket
Thank you for the video, I am subbing. If you plug the power into the monitor and the indicator light blinks once, but you still can’t turn on the monitor, what do you think the issue might be?
+Good mind Good find its very simple .. the first side is the same as measururing a diode or LED .. the other side is just like a trandistor but with two pins :)
Please need help. I have LG monitor my pc runs good (tested anoter TV) but my monitor says no signal. Cable is good. What can cause it at monitor. Whats the problem?
Hi been trying some solution ..got temporary Solution by using my tv as monitor by connecting hdmi cable cause its working but need to know whats the reason why my laptop display not working..any idea.its great help.thank you..
A perfect guide on how to waste as much time as possible during repairs... If your light in your living room is not turning on, do you start to meassure the voltage on the powerline supplying your whole street or just directly taking a trip to the powerplant to start there? Bridge rectifiers can and should be tested without putting high voltage on even with your multimeter, meassuring the output voltage would not show you if one or even two diodes were dead (signal form and the frequency of the pulses are needed for that, if you want to test it using output voltage). As for caps: ESR is a much more important parameter in switching mode power supplies and meassuring the capacitance of that cap when you alredy had 0 volts at the output equals to messuring the diameter and the density of a growing tomato, to find out the max. speed of your car on mars...
Admin br..when I connect my LCD AOC monitor with UPS , UPS turned off its getting of but when I unplug the monitor thn the ups is going better, what's the prblms in monitor pls help me.

Sir i have wansa smart tv wle49d8856s its starting with smart tv loading then wansa and after that nothing but screen light can you or any one have an idia of where to get its firmware i will be greatfull
I would suggest getting a basics electronics book so you know how to test, trace and understand how it works to repair them. Heck compaired to when I was a teenager and you have to know about vaccumm tubes today is easy. Back then you replaced bad components not just the boards like today.
hi everyone ,if anyone else needs to find out about learn to repair electronics try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend got great success with it.
