My LCS here in Barrie just got the motherload. Complete silver age runs of Avengers, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Star Wars, X-Men and ASM. Truly an insane sight to behold.

This reminds of when I was at a local antiques store in 1995 where I was a regular customer. They had just received a large collection of vintage Star Wars toys that included loose action figures and vehicles. I was the first vulture and made off with a very nice haul.

That Batman and Spider-Man book was huge for us growing up in the 90s. I remember it was impossible to get and one guy in my grade school snagged a copy and we would all huddle around his copy at recess in awe of it. That book is easier to get today than it was when it came out!

The interesting thing to me about this collection/vid was seeing all of these books in raw form. Kind of cool.

A lot of the war books are under appreciated. Not just the marvel but the DC stuff. I have 2 long boxes of just war books in my pc. Some decent keys hidden among them as well.

I went to Spero's last week to check out what was left of the collection and based on the prices I saw swagglehaus definitely got the famous friend discount because there weren't any deals like these to be had.

Great find's, great show! I applaud you for your content. Flipper show's appear to be disappearing or very sporadic with content. Page flipper podcasts are done. And the Top 10 list where they read word for word from the script are flat out boring.

Speroes is the best. Got Walking Dead 1 there for a fantastic price. They have been working on getting this collection. A lot of great stuff.

You should have seen the old warehouse! I have so many incredible buys from them over the decades.

My LCS owner let's his regulars know when certain books come in that they are looking for. Example I collect Dr Strange silver and bronze age. He always let's me know when he gets them so I can take a look.

Eliott's a great guy and I used to love Spero's but the new dudes he hired to run the store have overpriced everything. I can only imagine the high prices they're throwing on the keys from that collection.

Sgt Fury was BY FAR my favorite comic book in the 60's. Read and traded them. Had them all in my hand from #1 up until I quit reading comic books in my teens

i think a lot depends on what you mean by aggressive? If someone is ahead of me, alls fair. It gets out of bounds when someone imposes on someone else space. One time I was looking thru books and was shoulder to shoulder with collectors to my left and right. No problem, but then , I see a hand come thru from under my right armpit slowly working its way toward the stack I had laid out directly in front of me, close to my chest to purchase. All I could think of was the hand from the Adams Family (Thing) slowly working thru to grab one or a few of my books. Im thinking to myself, WHAT NERVE. I grabbed the hand and slapped SUPER hard and turned to the dickweed and said, Ethics Violation! He got the point. Some of these guys have no ethics at all which can lead to fisticuffs. Another time Im looking thru a long box. No one looking to the boxes to my left or right. Guy comes along and reaches over and starts looking thru the back of the box Im looking in, so I slammed the books back so only I had space to pull books with no space for him to pull any out cause they were so tight together. Again, would have been no problem except for the intrusion of my immediate space. Had he been a box over, no problem. If only people would live by the golden rules of life like treat others the way you wish to be treated things would be better. Have ANY of you had Nasty Experiences where you were either turned off or had you blood pressure rise to the point where you wanted to wallop the other person for their insult?

Moral of the story. Dont ever sell your 'collection'. Your 'equity' just gets passed on to the dealer to the customer.

This gives me hope that one day a woman might visit my LCS too.

Swag I saw Mike from lunch money comics went to a warehouse comic sale.they had 50 copies of dark hawk numbers #1. Spider man annuals #14 Monica appearance 10 copies 20 copies spawn #9.

Those were some very sweet books. I never have such luck. The only way to get that type of a book for me is either on eBay or at a con. Either way that will cost me so much that I could never afford to do something like this. An ASM #6For $500.WhatAGreatDeal

I'd love to know what the store paid. I'm guessing it was a steal. If I had to guess I'd say 5k which is the true vulture!

Love your content but I'll say it's easy to be a vulture when you don't have to get up and be to work in the morning like most vendors and resellers. Average collectors who may have saved a long time for one of those bigger books may not be able to afford to ditch work and therefore miss out on a grail. Because vendors and resellers are on those priority and first call lists. I get up at 230 for work, can't be there at 9 or 10 when they open. Even when my lcs does get a collection or run a sale, those vendors are lined up at 5am because they don't have jobs like most collectors. Not trying to be negative towards what you're saying just saying it's not easy to just be a vulture for most of us.

There's a shelf at my lcs of books that are priced but not allowed for us to buy until they set them out and we sneak and pick through em and they yell at us all the time @hoodwood_comics
