In this video I will show you a solution that I found out when I was putting together my closed wireless in ear system for my band. I was using the LD Systems MEI 100 and when I was using multiple units I ran into problems. So if you are having problems with you in ear system then this video might help you.
do you have a problem with your in ear system does it sound like an old radio well stick around I might have a nursery hi I'm max a from the band psyckadeli and today I am going to show you my new in ear system and I also would like to address a problem that I had would assist them when connecting it all together so what was the problem well when I connected all these together and put them on when I was using one of these receivers it made pretty much a
noise of an old radio when I was walking around it was making all crazy funny noises and it wasn't actually very pleasant to listen to at all when I built this system I went for this LD model that wasn't the most expensive one and it wasn't the cheapest one either I
thought that you had a lot of opportunities here because you could set this frequencies and a system was licensed free which was actually very very good so I read up in the manual how you were supposed to hook it up and also set the channels and groups to be able to use multiple system using this technique I could see in the manual that there was basically two options to vary the frequencies coming from the transmitter to the receiver we had groups and they had channels so I thought well we're a group right so what I did was I set Group one on all transmitters and and then I just basically changed the channels to 1 2 3 & 4 but unfortunately that wasn't enough apparently because when I started it up it was making a lot of noise it was basically like an O radio being turned
to the next station and it was terrible I thought it was something wrong with the system so my first setup was as I said that
group one on all of the components and
then I would just change the channels on
the transmitter to go to the receivers
so a second setup was to use different
grooves and then have the same shells so
I set it to Group 1 group 2 group 3 and
group
or but then I would just use 1 2 3 4 or
just 1 1 1 1 on the channels for the
transmitters but unfortunately he still
had the same problem and I was really
getting frustrated and I thought that
this was probably something wrong with
equipment or I was standing too close to
the transmitters I was walking around in
my house and I pretty much had the same
problem all the time and the problem was
that when I was turning on all the
transmitters that's when I had a problem
but because being old and stubborn at
this age
I decided to try something completely
different I decided to make a settings
with the group 2 channel 2 on the first
one then group 4a channel 4 on the
second one group 6 and channel 6 on the
third one and then group 8 and channel 8
on the fourth one and it was magic that
actually solved the problem and then I
realized that hey wait a minute
the frequencies must have been too close
together because as you can see here the
frequency now are more far apart and
that actually helped it a lot so it
seems that you have to have values that
separate each other is quite a far away
because otherwise it will interfere when
you're having multiple setup like this I
hope this video has helped you and if
you like to see more of these videos
please subscribe to the channel and keep
your eyes out for more cool stuff on
being in a band

This is extremely helpful, I'm literally EATING all videos on RU-vid related to IEM systems and you're the only one so far that actually EXPLAINED how to solve a problem. Thank you very much. As I'm starting to build my band's IEM system using LD Systems units I'm wondering: what's the real difference between the MEI 100 and the MEI 1000 in your opinion? As the price range is different I'm wondering if the cheaper ones are enough for our needs or not. Thans man!

I am glad to hear that I could help you. I have only tried the MEI 100. So I can't tell you the differens. The MEI 100 is great for the money. We had them on our European tour and they where good. Later in my life I hope to change them to a better system but then we are talking Shure and that is much future down the line...

@@santoclemenzi They where normal size club scenes. You need to go quite far away to get out of range. I have walked around in the hallways of our rehearsal space and when walking where there are wall then it might lose the range. But no problem on stage...

@@PsyckadeliTV thanks again! I could think about those ones instead of the 1000, I need to get 4 of them, it's about 400€ saved in total. Thanks man!

Read the frequency chart, go for equal spacing making use of the whole band, then adjust individual frequencies for minimal intermodulation if need be.

Martin Höög the only thing you can do is to set the channels as far away from each other. I had to set them evn more apart then what I do in this video. I was lucky that I had the option to be able to do that with these...

Isn't this because the antennas interfere with each other? Wouldn't you be better of with an antenna combiner?

Monster sort of. I had a Sennheiser system a couple of years ago. Maybe the sound was better but it was using so much battery power that I like this system more. We bought this because it was not the cheapest. It is good enough for now. We will probably upgrade later but it is a good system for us at this level...

Hello!

@@PsyckadeliTV I bought six Mei 100 G2 B5 earphones and I built them in a box. The six antennas are 15 centimeters apart and seem to interfere with each other. Do you have any ideas for that? How do you handle this elsewhere?
@PsyckadeliTV
@PsyckadeliTV 5 лет назад
@@tamaskolonits6883 My best solution is to get the frequencies as far apart as possible. So the first system on the lowest value and the last one on the highest and the other in between but as far apart. I start getting problems when I run four systems. So I don't know how hard it will be if you have six of them. But you need get them as far away from each other. You need to go true the different groups and channels and see what they will give you and find the one that are most away from each other...

@@PsyckadeliTV The distance between the antennas should be at least one wavelength. Unfortunately, only half of it. The frequencies are programmed in your way. 1-1, 3-3, 5-5, 7-7, 9-9, 10-12 I've had several times to "clean up" each other. There is an antenna community, but more than 800 USD.

I'm using the same model . I use it in mono mode and it was extremely noisy and except that, when I play my keyboard and the playback track (wav mono) together , the signal in my ears is a disaster! Especially in bass frequencies. Does someone know the reason? I'm using Shure se215 . I hope if I turn it in stereo mode with stereo playbacks playing around it may solve that problem.

most of your problems is because of that antenna farm you have there, wrong placement, wrong direction, having a metal plane parallel to them and multiple antennas too close to one another. those systems are very low quality and they need all the help they can get.
