5:09 Jeanne pretends like she feels indifferent about the officer, but when the officer doesn't show up to say his usual good evening (probably due to Jeanne ignoring his offer to use his car), Jeanne is left confused and sad without his presence..
After readin the Novel several times : von ebrennac was in favour of a franco-german marriage; But he wanted a worthy France as his wife for Germany, and for that reason he loved the resistance to the German occupation. The first image of conjugal union presented by von ebrennac illustrates his father's love for France: So he had said about briand :" he will unite us as husband and wife. "(p. 28). The officer had said this sentence, his gaze upon the young lady of the house, as if he were transferring this international love to her. And, indeed, throughout the news, he multiplies the images that evokes love for France without distinction and love for nieces. When the German soldier speaks about the complementarity of France and Germany, he does so in these terms, while his smiling stands on the girl's profile :".. We will no longer fight: we will marry "(p. 32). One might think that this is a proposal of marriage that I addressed to him, inviting him to break his silence as if they were two people who had an argument. For him to defeat the silence of France, it is as well to defeat the silence of lai niece-a deti that pleases him, as a suitor pleases him that his beauty resents him: "I am glad to have found here a worthy old man. There's a silent lady. This silence will have to be overcome. He will defeat the silence of France. I like that."
Maureen, copy the comments, open a new window, type translate "French to English", enter the text in the foreign language window, the English will appear in the adjacent window. Very easy, i am going through all the comments myself. It is amazing people from all over the world comment here, and we all seem to share the joy of watching this movie. Truly a miracle.
Obviously in this story this french girl was taught rased this way, this film was not in our centuary or time, and its a smal place not a big city So it seams there are still such still beauty left untouched in this World
Which is the connection between your comment "fornication brings you in Hell"? and this movie which is everything but NOT about what you are saying....
