As if that was anything. They don't have an ounce of the talent this lady has. Not one ounce. So please don't diminish this woman's talent by mentioning them in the same sentence.
Beyoncé wishes she could hold a note like Lea Michele. Please. Lea Can sing circles around the rest. Running and singing and on key. Now that's talent!
Funny thing is, I was hearing this from earphone. And right hand side its just voice, left is music.... I was just wearing the right one, it felt so weird, asif someone is screaming..
Jesse Moreno that's what I thought until I watched it back, Lea was like "I gotta have my bite sir" and Beyoncè s face was like "excuse me? that's my man, I'll cut a bitch." lol
@@xQueenofnothing but you can see beyonce swaying back and forth in the shot afterwards like she genuinely enjoyed it. But I also don’t know these people so idk lol
Really why? You all make such a big deal about Beyonce. I get that your generation doesn't have better. But give it a rest. Listen to some of the female singers of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Now those were voices and no autotune either. Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Connie Francs, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Barbara Streisand to name but a very few. There are so many great voices compared to them Beyonce is nothing special.
Lea Michele is a performer. I don't care how she sound live. this was perfect. she was engage with the audience, she moved around, and had fun. When you're a Broadway performer this what you have to do. she's a performer and actress and those two goes well with each other.
She's talented, it sucks she let it get to her head. This is why her independent music career never took off or she never got more mainstream acting roles, despite her huge talent.
I think because it was too breathy .. her tone and everything else was fine … but you should probably see how Barbara does this song live to understand
LOL I just wrote the same on Instagram under this video, and a Beyonce fangirl almost slit my throat that her Queen B is NOT impressed by this fat ass loser bitch's performance... WHATTA...:DDD
No offense but Girlfriend did not DEVIATE at all from Barbara's original recording and *BARBARA* WAS NOT PRESENT FOR THIS PERFORMANCE. She *would be 'QUEEN BEE' under the circumstances.....*
queeneva3 she doesn't need to impress Beyonce because we all know for a fact that lea Michelle has a golden angelic voice lea is like the next Barbara.
Micael calderon she doesn’t need to impress Beyoncè but being that Beyoncé is one of the best singers of her generation, she would clearly be happy to see her reaction
1:22 First of all, I love the sheer determination on her face 100% channeling Rachel Berry. Secondly, I love the pure adoration of everyone in the crowd watching this Qween sing. And lastly, Jonathan face, Will’s face, and Beyoncé’s face to Jay-Z after she says ‘bite sit’ are perfect.
First of all this is a hard song to sing! let alone to be walking singing it at the same time! second of all, on glee it was pre recorded that's why this one doesn't sound as good as it did on the show! third of all, she did amazing! She really engaged the audience just like she did on the show. I personally loved it.
blake moneé. She was enunciating in a strange way, she probably was nervous but if you listen to this and the glee studio version she did the way she pronounces the words are more natural in the glee one where she was in the comfort of familiar surroundings.
@@ourtime5099 well the accompanist is supposed to follow the soloist because (it's literally "accompanying" the soloist) and especially in this piece there's many like improvised tempo changes and ritardandos so it would be extremely hard for the soloist to follow the accompaniment. i hope i don't sound rude but yeah
@@ourtime5099 I’m a piano accompanist. You’re supposed to follow the lead of the soloist. Trying to fight them for control over the tempo is always going to be a losing battle.
Things are different when it's one instrument playing for a singer. With a band it's better for everybody to know what pace and tempo they will all be playing and singing at. This is why you practice together, so the conductor can give both the band and the singer notes on whether they should speed up or slow down. Then you need to do as practiced, on the night. Some singers aren't great at this, and let themselves get swept up by emotion, on the night. The more disciplined ones stick to the prearranged tempo.
TJ then she should have chosen a different song to perform. I love Lea, she was the main reason why I was hooked on glee but this was not a good performance.
Saied Beckford first of all, I highly doubt that she chose the song and second, this was a good performance. You can clearly tell from this that she has Broadway training and how talented she is
I think this video is the mic feed. That way there's not as much annoying cheering and you can hear their voice more. I think that's why the music is kind of quiet too
A more sophisticated audience at the Tonys, who do not jump up and start yelling before the song is even over, or give a mindless standing ovation for anything. A theatre full of pros listening with respect and admiration. The best audience that Lea could have had and she knew it. (Glad Will was in a good mood that night.)
@@ssbtrumpet1 yea she doesn’t have any in ears so she’s not hearing it in real time.. I think she did a great job considering she’s hearing the music significantly after it’s being played.. When she gets on stage it gets better
I think that the begging was a little bit worst because the music was to slow and her voice to loud , but it was a great performance , I love Lea voice ! ❤
Y'all must be deaf she's extremely talented don't say otherwise she's pure perfection I can hear her sing all day I love her.And don't compare her to Mariah Carey this girl does sing live morons
I'm not necessarily her biggest fan but I think people are being harsh here. It seems like the band were the ones who messed up. It seems like they practiced at a slower tempo and then they got ahead of themselves while playing and couldn't lean off the tempo.
Great singer but the sound engineer was all wrong. Too much medium frequency, not enough reverb, bad settings, she must have been furious when she watched her performance after the show.
All of these negative comments.... GUYS! This isn't the easiest song to sing at all! In my opinion Lea hit all the notes perfectly here, but she is still a star and she will always be! :)
I get that this wasn't the best performance of hers, but this song is extremely difficult to sing and she is singing to a group of the most talented people in the world. For such an arduous task, she was simple breathtaking! ❤️
It really should make no difference who you are singing to. Although professional singers look as though they are concentrating on the audience, that is just an act. They are concentrating like mad on getting their breathing and tone right.
Trinity Rodriguez the tony awards are about celebrating musicals. I bet the smiths and the Carter's are fans of Broadway and frequently attend musicals.
Tony Valencia You are realllly trying to make something out of nothing. I just wanted to know and the other two comments were good enough so please stop trying to start a problem where u opinion is no longer need thank you and have a wonderful day
She.Was.AMAZING! Her voice and how she didnt run out of breath! Shes worked so hard and she deserves to be rewarded. I would kill to be her best friend.
The conductor should get a slap across the face. He turns the orchestra completely out of tempo. What a shame! Lea had to run to catch the ridiculous tempo he imposed.
Actually, her entrance was late along with her first belt was a little carried away, so although yes the music should have been aligned with the vocals, she herself caused that mistake to happen
I don't think it's that, she probs has an earpiece that is quicker then the time time it takes to get to the audience. If you notice it is more in time the closer to the orchestra.
i saw this some time ago and watching it again, completely changes my mind she really DID SO WELL like she hits all the notes, doesn't lose breath and is giving her all, idk why i had that impression the first time, maybe because i compared it to the on on glee but this is so good.
