That’s mostly correct. In truth, Charlie was the first one to get striked for watched the video, and Mark came after. It wasn’t copyright, but apparently it warranted graphic violence and/or nudity according to RU-vid (The video was dash cam footage of people in costumes playfully beating up a guy). Charlie then called out YT for their decision, but when they refused to repeal it, he then brought Markiplier out in the spotlight not only because he was aware that Mark watched the same exact video for a Try Not to Laugh, but because Charlie was the only one getting punished for it. RU-vid is a tier 3 Pokimane sub. I unironically think it's basically this; there are one or more people at RU-vid who are Pokimane fans. Leafy's videos were immediately becoming age-restricted once they hit trending. He repealed the age-restriction on one video but it became age-restricted once it hit trending again. Becoming age-restricted removes the video from trending. YT were setting up automated systems to keep his videos from gaining traction. This ban was as unofficial as it gets. YT simply didn't want Leafy to survive despite the fact their efforts couldn't keep him from thriving.
