Leaked old-growth map shows urgent need for course correction 

The latest old-growth trends and recent news about a leaked B.C. Ministry of Forests map confirmed with grave detail how much irreplaceable old growth could be lost forever unless we take stronger action. The latest data shows that more than half of the most endangered old-growth forests recommended for deferrals remain open to logging. At the same time, old-growth logging continues at a gut-wrenching rate of about 160 soccer fields per day. How do these trends resonate with you?
We recognize this as an urgent moment for us to push all levels of governments to speed up logging deferrals and reform forestry practices. This must include full support for First Nations that seek alternatives to old-growth logging.
There is so much work to be done to make sure the most productive, endangered old growth is protected immediately.
