Danke for the ❤️ like. I was trying to earn one. Did you know that Americans had to pay taxes to the USA no matter where they live and even children born in the USA to foreign parents have to even pay even if they never grew up in the USA. All other countries except dictatorships tax citizenship. So, basically you are paying two countries taxes and probably the state too. Do you know Americans that have to deal with this ? I bet the tax lawyers make a lot out of them and if you marry an American the IRS will tax your spouse's money too. I wonder if prince Harry got a pass from the IRS getting into royal accounts and assets ? Thanks again for the ❤️ heart like. You two are really cool. How do you say that expression in German ? 😁👍

Lingoda sounds really cool for learners, also considering the prize. Unfortunately they don't pay much for their teachers. For teachers it's more like a student job...

Oh really? We wouldn’t know about the teacher side of things. In my (Jen) experience, I’ve had very capable, senior and passionate teachers in the classes.

Hi thanks for these and countless other nuggets of information about Germany through your videos. Lingoda sounds very interesting. I am looking into lingoda but I don't see an option for €8/month anywhere. My options are 4 classes a month for €15 per class and the per class rate drops as the number of classes a month increases. So naturally the per month cost goes up from €60 to say €400 for 40 classes a month. I am a little confused because you guys talk about monthly plans or did I get that wrong. If you have any idea why that is, do you mind sharing please. May be their plans have changed our may be I am missing something. (And just so you know I clicked the link in the description as well as went to their site separately and found no difference in plans).
@simplegermany
@simplegermany Год назад
Hey Monalisa, it seems that Lingoda has changed their price structure and now it's per class and not per month. You can still register for their 7-day free trial to check the service out and decide then if it's something you would like to pursue or not.

@@simplegermany I'm visiting Germany in 40 days. I've been practicing German on Duolingo for over a year. We'll see how I do speaking German. My goal was to be able to speak and understand the basics. I think I'll be fine. Years ago I lived in Germany for 3 years while in the military too. I'm very excited about my trip!!!

I'm not sure if I missed it in a video in the past, but where did Jen learn English from? Because it sounds (to me at least) more American-English than Queen's, which from what I've seen, most in Europe learn Queen's English as. Just curious though I know you only went to Germany in 2012, so I assumed maybe while in Guatemala still.
@simplegermany

Yep, I learned it in Guatemala. And my aunt lives in the US, so I have some influence from there as well 😉
