Very sharp eyes there! The truth is that not all equipment can do everything - Profoto chose to not include stroboscopic on their A1, thus we used a different brand of Speedlight to do the triggering. As the large strobes do the actual lighting, you don't need a high-end Speedlight - even an older, used one, from a different manufacturer, will work fine (no need for TTL, as you'll use it on manual, low power) as long as it has the stroboscopic feature. Almost all older Nikon and Canon and Godox Speedlights do have that feature. Go out and try it out yourself!!!
If you have two strobes, have you had any problems with the strobes being out of sync in terms of bursts...the worst case scenario being that they alternate bursts giving you 16 instead of 8 freezes?
