Vert Shock completely transformed my game! I couldn't even dream of dunking before, and now it's a regular part of my game. You can find it here while it's still available: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XSwHcXpwD0o.html To anyone who wants to increase his vertical jump as well: - Focus on exercises that target the muscles used in jumping, such as squats, lunges, calf raises, and deadlifts. Incorporate both bodyweight exercises and weighted exercises to build strength. - Plyometric exercises help improve the power and explosiveness of your muscles. Include exercises like jump squats, box jumps, depth jumps, and bounding in your workout routine. - Work on your jumping technique to optimize your performance. Practice jumping with proper form, including using your arms to generate momentum and landing softly to reduce impact. See you guys when you reached your vertical jump goals!
Always felt like i had the power and explosiveness, but couldnt execute the technique and coordination. Other videos never cover this in this exact detail. Thanks isaiah this is the greatest technique video ever so far
This video is a godsend for anyone who wants to improve their dunking jump. Too many RU-vidrs focus on power exercises to improve your vertical. They will do nothing if you don't know the proper technique. Too little credit on their technique is given to athletes who can jump. Personally I never balled competitively so I never really worked on this but always thought that my technique was very poor as I had no idea how to jump at a hoop. Back then I also ran a 4.9 40, also with poor technique. I trained with a track team for a winter and improved my forty 4.6. Not world beating but a big improvement for me. I tell this story to encourage anyone who wants to improve their jumping to heed the advice on this video. Beautifully broken down steps and practicing the footwork as well. I also believe athletes will improve power by practicing these techniques. Well done!
Isaiah you've been going OFF on the amount of video's you've been posting and it's SO nice. I already have a 38 with pretty good technique but any small tips help, im tryna get my 1 leg vert up rn so this helpful.
To be honest Isaiah, I really needed this. I have been discouraged because I have been trying to dunk for approx. more than 2 years now and haven't done it yet.... But this definitely encouraged me to keep going for that dunking dream!!
That was so good! Thank you. Never seen anyone break it down in to the three different techniques anywhere else. And 'toe, toe, flat foot, penultimate, block' is going to be my mantra. 👍
@@IsaiahRivera1yo Isaiah, ive had some trouble extending my penultimate step and landing on my heel. could you maybe make an updated tutorial on the penultimate step. love you man❤
So needed thx u Update after practicing the walking drill for a week and change. Now I can run into a two foot dunk without having to think about it. The walking practice makes everything Come together. Thanks again
That made laugh when you said "When I was younger". I just turned 50, I actually wish I had these resources when I was younger. I'm 5'11" and used to be able to dunk, nothing special just a regular one handed dunk. Now I can't even touch the rim. I've been getting back in shape want to at least touch the rim again.
As you dunk the ball into the hoop, try to throw the ball to yourself or pull it back and down under the front rim. Most dunk misses is the ball hitting back rim.
I’m 6’4 and was a collegiate high jumper (one foot). This isn’t like being right or left handed. If you’re a hefty guy, two feet is more practical because you won’t be able to produce or convert the speed. The quick answer is to develop both, and use both as needed. There’s no good reason to pick just one. Why would you? Jumping one footed is quick and practical in layup and drive situations. Two foot is steadier for controlled situations. Develop both. Practice one foot jumping by doing layups. Don’t focus on power. Focus on getting as close to the rim as fast as you can (as though you’re being trailed by a defender). Accelerate so that you reach near 100% full speed your last two steps. The acceleration should feel like a ramp. Slow, slow, quick-GONE. Don’t load your jump like a leg press, explode the jump like you’re punching the ground. Think small rubber bouncy ball…not trampoline. Think violent, instantaneous explosion, NOT a hard push. Lightning strike, not strength. Doing high knee skips in a field or driveway REALLY helps. The skip should be a quick rhythm, buh-boom, and you should aim to soar. Fast forward motion, massive arcs. For two footed, practice standing jumps without a run. This will teach you to use your body - including your arms and appropriate leg bend - to maximize force. This will teach your brain how much arms, legs, and explosion are needed for max height without wearing you down from repeated run-ups. Combine this with run-up approaches keeping in mind that it is your SPEED that turns the standing jump into a launch.
I cant junp 1 foot i just dont hqve any power to go up when i 1 foot jump i jump longer not higher however with 2 foot i can realy grt high af like atleast 40+ vert
For one foot jumpers, what’s the best way to hold the ball for a power jumper? The video shows a lob, but who is a good example of a power jumper that doesn’t lob?
Very impressive vertical leap, next level. My top jump was mid 30s back in middle/highschool before an injury. Currently focusing on sprinting but relearning my jump technique. All the best. 🤍🖤
Hello brother, I have a problem with dunking the ball, as when I jump to dunk the ball, my hand goes up above the rin but I cannot dunk the ball, I can only do it sometimes
Great video dude but quck question tho. IF my jumping leg is my left, even though im not a lefty, should my penoltimate step still be left or should it be the other one
Would you say shorter people should focus on 2 foot jumping target than 1 foot ? I ask because I’m a 1 foot jumper at 5’6 and can get half of my ppm above the rim but I feel like I’m hitting a plateau off 1?
Just keep jumping. Everybody's body is different. Practice both jump forms. If you're a natural one foot jumper switching to two isn't going to really increase anything.
what are the differences between one foot and two foot jumping? (i mean like what are their differences in the performance of the jump/their advantages or disadvantages)
So i am able to easily dunk with 1 foot but i really struggle to even Touch the rim with 2 feet. This is really confusing because i am 2 Meters (must be about a high 6 in freedom units) tall and can literally Touch the net when standing. It can logically not be the raw jump strength because 1 foot is no problem at all but i am not that fast either. Can anyone tell me where tf my problem is? Thank you for the help and the great tutorial tho still🙏
Just turned 14, 5,11 and this video really helped me to get better jumping off of two because originally my max vert running off one is 38 and max vert running off of two is 32 hopefully I will be able to get higher off of two next time I vert check but I definitely feel more bouncy off of two keep it up with these videos
can you dunk? if no then how much of your hand is at the rim? because im 5,11 and idk vert but last time i checked it was 31 (probably higher now), one foot jumper and i can get my palm on the rim and close to dunking (sometimes i rim glaze dunk) and wingspin does affect it also but im just curious. also 5,11 and 38 vert is amazing for just 14, im 16 and considered good compared to my age group
You don't have 38 inches of vert. I'd bet my mortgage on that. Cause you'd have two handers, 360s, windmills, and probably an eastbay. 38 inches of vert is dumb high. The NCAA average for football is 32. Yeah no. Not at 14. We'd know who you were if that were the case. You'd be State level in everything, and getting offers.
If I jump one foot off of left, but left-right off two, am I mixing things up unnecessarily? Should a left foot 1-foot jumper be going right-left normally? I noticed that my penultimate step switches sides from my 1 foot and 2 foot jumps.
im 6'4.5, 8'4.5 reach at 15 with a 26inch standing vert and 26.5 max vert, how can i fix this? I dont think i should be jumping equally on standing and max vert. I think my technique is ok and doesnt seem to be the problem, and i feel like there is something else holding back my max vert.
Have you ever found jumpers that their armswing kind of lazy in the weaker arm? It looks like slower going into the takeoff jump, My friend have that and have to cue him
Bro I think most people are lazy asf because they ask "how can I jump higher ?"when they are all day on RU-vid and Google and they are like watching cringy videos when they can just search for videos like that
