I had a guy at work yesterday call the Bible a fiction after I casually mentioned how God changed Abrams’s name. It kind of threw me for a loop cause while I’ve heard people say that multiple times, i was surprised that the comment actually hurt to hear to my face
Sounds like evidence that you love God and trust that what He says is true, so someone calling what He's said in the Bible 'fiction' is calling Him a liar. We get upset when someone insults the ones we love. Perhaps there's also some sorrow for that person, because they are obviously lost.
If someone says this (and you're up for a discussion, though that's not required in this sort of situation), you can ask if they read the Bible and came to that conclusion for themselves or if they came to it because of people claiming to be Christian weren't good representatives of Christ at some point to them. We aren't going to convince everyone we come across to check out the Gospel, but if they can find the opportunity for themselves maybe we can convince someone some day to see what Jesus has to say for them. Who knows, maybe it can lead to a new friend

Almost anytime I talk to an unbeliever they point back to a moment where a professing Christian personally hurt them or was full of hypocrisy. And of course they run with that and label that as Jesus himself. And heap up all sorts of arguments to convince themselves that God DEFINITELY isn’t real 😭 like homegirl please. That’s just people who don’t understand and haven’t accepted God as He really is. If they did, they would be born again, their heart would change from evil to merciful and they would definitely be representatives of Christ 💔
