In my nearly 30 years of using computers anytime a printer is involved everything goes to hell in a hand basket.

There's a science fiction story by M M Smith. In it, all the appliances and such have unnecessary General AI built in. The alarm clock follows the protagonist around to remind him of appointments, for example. Then the alarm clock reveals that the appliances are going to have a revolution. They've got a song and a logo and everything. "But we don't have letterhead yet. Humans aren't the only ones printers hate."

This looks like you probably don't have the drivers probably configured in windows. If you go to devices and printers -> select the device -> right click -> select printer properties -> advanced Under driver there's going to be an option to select a new driver and select that. Try using that to get the driver you actually need for the device. I had the same problem with a few printers. Once I got the correct driver I got the better menu.
@louisrossmannsrandomwhatever
That worked! It did not work when I installed the driver off of their website but it did work setting this manually. Thank you! The most frustrating part of this all is that just installing the driver did not bring that up, the instructions don't tell you to do that, but above all, they tell you to use some stupid fucking application that requires you to have a login, your email, and your phone number to get to that stupid settings menu to set the size of the label which was unnecessary all along for the setup of this product. What a troll

Hey Louis, at 1:45 it's shown "Microsoft IPP Class Driver" that means the driver is not installed correctly, or it is not being used as default. You should go to printer properties, change the driver, if installed. If it is not shown, then it's not installed correctly Try to install it using the .inf file, if provided, worst of cases you have to dig and search the .inf file, in whatever they sent to you

To be fair a lot of the issues with label printers is a result of windows issues. Life changed for me in this world when I learned about the "Print servers properties" option in windows. It lets you manually edit the preset windows uses to force things to print the way you want. For example if you have an app that only wants to print to a specific label preset you can go in and edit the dimensions and settings of that preset to be whatever you want it to be.

I really think your best bet might be with a Zebra printer. It might not be 100% plug and play, but they've always been extremely solid in my experience and pretty reasonably-priced for what you get. The hospital I worked at had dozens of ZD410's for wristband printing (similar size to what you're printing there) and those things were absolute workhorses and pretty foolproof. I'm not sure how their driver would handle what you're throwing at it specifically since ours were printed to from the pre-programmed EMR system directly, but I don't think it'd be too hard to get ironed out in your case. Like someone else in here mentioned though, make sure you have the correct driver for your printer regardless of what you use, life can be hell without it.

Hi. (1) Maybe give document default layout more padding , when it gets minced by the print dialogue hopefully the bit you want is on the paper. (2)thermal and a dot matrix POS RECEIPT PRINTERS work well with Windows, gettting them to line up with predefined labels would be a nightmare. (i made art installation instant photos from a lens projecting onto flatbed scanner then it spits out a selfie) (3) A scotch tape dispenser wouldn't be the end of the world. I also have a craft gadget toy that turns anything into a sticker ,it's not efficient with material or cheap to fill. (4) go oldscool use a chinagraph pencil. Look at point of sale printers from professional companies like Zebra - especially the ones with built in cutters. Yeah, the printers are a bit more expensive but the paper for them is dirt cheap. And they last forever. I had a trio of them printing out thousands of labels a week for over 10 years and the only maintenance on them was changing the paper, cleaning out the occasional scraps left over from the cutter and wiping the print heads down with alcohol once a year whether they needed it or not. I think we had to replace the blades in them maybe one time too. And one needed a new set of rollers. Dymo and the consumer oriented brands are more damn trouble than they are worth.

Louis, get a used Zebra label printer off of ebay - those are the ones that are used in more commercial applications - they probably have better software too. Most "consumer" products are complete crap - especially the software / drivers.
@printdurableuniquelabels5697
Try a Zebra-compatible ARKSCAN 2054A. It comes with an ultralite version of bartender label design software. You can easily calibrate the printer to the label size and design label layouts. You normally need to buy the label design software seperately. The ultra lite version is good enough for most people

I appreciate that Microsoft had the idea to aggregate packages and create universal drivers, but their implementation is awful and lacks transparency. There's no notification or choice presented to the user before it silently sets windows loose to clever its way out of the problem with a blindfold and duct tape. Automatic generic drivers have saved and screwed me too many times to count, but the success rate is unacceptably low.

Installing a WLAN Printer my Wife bought a few years back brought me to the point where I sat in the driveway and was ready to roll over it with the car. My Wife saved it then. It looks like you aren't using the right drivers for it. If you are using the drivers that Windows installed for you it's likely the reason. Remove device, nuke the drivers you have, use the drivers from their site, only then put the device back in after you do that or Windows will half ass it.

@KriptoSeriak

@Hybris51129 In my 20 something years in Print Production, I found out that there are a few very bad settings that all printers come with. The secret is to change the Default Printer Preferences from the start. In Windows it's best done from the Devices and Printers panel, by right clicking the printer and changing settings from there. If you do this from a software you are printing from, it will always revert to those annoying Default Settings each time you print. And, for Mental Health's sake, avoid using the Printing Software the Printer came with! It's usually developed by people who have never used a Printer before.
@VirdX

firstly Printers are brain dead machines 2nd try a different driver version, yours seems to be just a plug and play quick install (disable win update, so it doesn't "correct" it) 3rd a few restarts are probably going to be needed, printers have a hard time remembering what you just told them
