Great job backing out. I appreciate that you walk us through your decision making process. Yes, on the water is the best place to be. The SoCal coastline is amazing. Keep sailing!
You're brave. Solo is no small deal. I just moved aboard and scared as hell to take it out alone. Just figuring out how to live on it is a challenge. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. It's a love hate relationship. Becoming more love. But for sure there's a learning curve. I really am impressed with how you're dealing with it. Happy and alive. You are amazing.
Christa, u, ur puppies and the boat Perfect, really enjoy ur channel. I'm a dog, boat, water and freedom person. Awesome solo stuff Woman, power to U. 🌈🇦🇺🐕🐶🏳️🌈
Well done tieing up to the pump out dock and masterful job getting off it. 10-12 knots makes it much tougher than you made it look. Why not go to the 3 mile mark and use your macerator instead of going to the pump out station? Stay safe my friend.
As someone who used to live in So. Cal. I can't help but think of how nice it would be to be able to just get in a boat and sail up and down the coast. With such a great view and even if you are moving at a slow and steady pace, at least you are moving. It's been a while since I drove in that traffic, but I can imagine it would be bumper-to-bumper and take several hours just to go 30 miles. Not to mention the toll it takes on your nerves, probably shortening your life. Whereas a nice ride on a boat would probably add to your peace of mind, thus making the extra time it takes all the much better. Safe travels and may the wind be in your favor.
Here is how I feel when I sail. When I initially go out, I have the biggest butterflies in my stomach and I get really nervous. Then when I am out, I get super nervous when I start heeling. About 30 minutes in, the nerves go away, but there are some moments of nerves. When I am on my way back, I start feeling like I want to keep going. When I get on land, I wish I were back sailing and think back, why was I nervous!
It is a great feeling being out on water without a motor. Not easy to sail. First time I sailed was in NY by statute of liberty. Then sailed on Chesapeake Bay, and now on Lake Michigan in Chicago. Have great sunsets over the city. Lights of city are great too. Would love to try sailing in Bahamas or Greece someday
I put wheels on the back of my dink and what a difference it makes. I got the smaller plastic kind so it does not go through sand very well. If you go through a lot of sand get the larger rubber wheels.
Great video, it’s funny how the wind is your friend and your foe. Seems like the video cut short hope everything is okay. Is your Amazon wish list up to date? I am think about getting one of you items just want to make sure it’s updated.
Agreed!! Haha I wanted to cut it in two because the sun set sail was too beautiful to put in the same video as pumping out lol😂 Yes, my list is updated. That’s so kind of you!
I got back from a Catalina trip and just got your Amazon gifts! Thank you so much! You are so kind!! I’m going to give you a shout out in a future video and say thank you if that’s okay with you! You are awesome and they will be so helpful on my upcoming trips! I’m so excited to use everything!! 😊 again thank you 😊😊 and happy late birthday!
Thank you @dboboc , yes I was thinking about your mentioning of fouling the prop in reverse while towing the dinghy, and maybe a floating line / painter may help prevent that ?? Great sailing vids !!
Funny? how so MANY Boaters do Not use R! at slow to spin roll, or just do Handy things in small spaces in cross winds or others. it is a 3! or 4? dimension world!
I was born down there. Had to move out of state when I got smart enough. Can't stand the pro-criminal CA politicians and laws and taxes and over-priced everything.
Hey there! I made it to the bottom of the description! jk, So your journey was to go to Newport from where? and why are you going there, what's the occasion? How long will you be there? I just moved from Orange county to Arizona and i hate the desert. Hopefully i can get back to cali. I was at newport every weekend, fishing on the beach. I miss it so much. Be safe!
@@CaptainChrista Dana is so close to Newport but I guess when you’re in a boat it could take a little over an hour I guess either way enjoy your weekend. I’ll see you at the next video and thanks for the reply.!
