Lebron is not the defender Scottie was. That needs to stop being overlooked. I would even listen to a case Lebron is an underrated defender, but he's not Scottie defensively. Not even close. Both MJ and Scottie were better, more consistent defenders in their primes and during both 3peats than Lebron.

What lebron brings offensively surpasses what pippen did defensively. If you allow lebron to handcheck and grab on defense he would probably be one of the best defensive player of all time. The same way MJ scoring would increase in this era, lebrons defense would increase exponentially

Lebron is overrated on defense !! He’s one of greatest athletes in sports history & he only achieved 5 all 1st def awards in 17 years. It’s going to be 7 season since he’s won a def award. Cp3 is no where near the athlete lbj is & has more all 1st def awards. While guarding the most dynamic position in this era of basketball. He’s underachieved massively as a defender. @atlien1988 4 года назад
@@fredrickmeredith3564 no, he's saying that Pippen was and would be a greater fit with Jordan than LeBron. LeBron really cannot play any other way than the way he's always played...which is a ball dominant SF that doesn't play well off the ball in the half court. It's a reason Wade had to sacrifice his game and take a step back so they wouldn't have a repeat of the 2011 Finals. Also, Pippen knew his strengths and and weaknesses as a player and happily allowed Jordan to lead. Pippen was the guy of the 1995 Bulls and he had no problem relinquishing the lead role for Jordan despite MJ being away from basketball in nearly TWO YEARS!! In DMS Like Deez first of all LeBron is better then Bird. 2nd I made it clear (when I said if bird was drafted to the bulls) that I was saying bird would be 2nd to Jordan just like Bron would. So to say Bron couldn’t adjust to being 2nd cause he likes being the alpha... applies to any other all time alpha like a Larry Bird or Kobe Bryant. It’s not mutually exclusive to Bron.

Bron would've been a beast playing along side mj, bron would've been pippen on steroids (not literally) and i could only imagine what brons growth would've been like playing with somebody with the focus and killer instinct like mj. Now that would've been scary especially if it happened organically like bron being drafted to the bulls with mj leading the way.

Stop disrespecting the legacy of the greatest duo in team sports in MJ and Scottie! That was meant to be. People forget that Scottie blossomed into the prototypical point forward because of the triangle offense and MJs influence. MJ and Scottie loved playing defense because they wanted to. Jordan went 7 years and Scottie 5 years before winning a championship. Their journey to become champions is why we love/loved them so much

Jordan fans can't have it both ways. On one hand you give all the credit to MJ for the Bulls 6 rings. On the other hand you say Scottie is one of the best defenders of all time. MJ had a better team and coach. He is great but he didn't do it by himself. The Bulls were better than their competitors because they were the only team with 3 hall of famers and the greatest coach of all time.

Another thing is Jordan would have to expand his shooting range to be able to play with a guy like Lebron who's gonna have the ball most of the time and needs 3 pt shooters around him. Because of that Lebron would probably not even pick Jordan as a running mate anyway. The question should be can Jordan fit in with 'Bron.

First of all Chris Broussard, don't compare the numbers of Lebron in his era with the numbers of Pippen in his era because Pippen would have been able to average around the same amount of points if he had play in this current era. For example, in Pippen's era, an assist wasn't an assist anymore when a player took 1 dribble (at least on a half-court set), today a player can receive the ball, take 6 dribbles and score and it would still be considered an assist. So, let's not get carried away with the numbers here. Lebron's game look more like Pippen's game than any other player...Even more so than Magic's game. Now, Lebron would be a different player too because there's no way he could have scored as much in the paint as he does in this era. That's a no brainer. Broussard mentioned Magic was more of a killer than a facilitator. That's not exactly true...Magic loved to take control of the game in the clutch and he has several legendary moments in the clutch. Now, the coach's argument of Lebron is not valid. First Phil Jackson became a great coach with Jordan, not before (that's just factual) and second, there were many legendary coachs in the 90's (RIP Jerry Sloan). As far as this argument? I think they would have been a perfect fit because of Jordan. He can play with or without the ball and Lebron would have passed him the ball everytime under pressure...but thank God, it was Pippen.
