The culture in Pistons would've molded Melo into a far better player because his game was already the truth. Also the veteran leadership the Pistons had in players and coaching to mold Melo at that time was far better than what the Nuggets were able to offer. Unlike with the Nuggets, the Pistons also had champion credibility, and many of those players from the 89/90 championship teams were still close with the organization, including the GM Joe Dumars. HOFers and Finals MVPs Joe Dumars and Isiah Thomas, along with Vinnie Johnson, Bill Laimbeer, James Edwards, and Rick Mahorn would've had his ear and been able to influence his mindset for the better.

@@alanduff1054 you gotta check the backstory. Melo explains how he was close to the organization the moment the Pistons won the 2nd pick. He reached out to Ben, Rip, Tayshaunn, Chauncey, and others including Larry Brown about how much he’d like to come learn from and play with them. He said he’d go to many of their games after winning the championship in Syracuse. Melo knew his role and was eager to accept it because he was aware of how good the Pistons were when they lost to the Nets in the 2003 ECF. Furthermore, there’s never been a situation where a rookie, no matter how good they were, came onto a winning team of vets and selfishly interrupted the chemistry?

one thing i respect reggie miller and john stockton for; they never ever chased rings nor switched teams. and they remained good enough not to be put on the trade block. it says a lot about their mindset and pride...a lot of the other names chased rings and still didnt get it. the ones that did like gary payton; it did little to elevate his status.

Barkley was just a beast, and i think man to man Barkley would destroy most players especially at all the forward positions. Barkley ruff up Shaquille sometimes, and went against all the tough fellas like Oakley, Mason, Horace grant and many more. He was a very dominant player, was not for Jordan, Barkley would of definitely won a ring in 1993 plus his time in Philadelphia was with dr j who was already pass his prime. One on one, Barkley would destroy Lebron, fella was simply a beast down in the low post, and could shoot outside. They had to change the rules because how dominant Barkley was in the low post.
