The more interesting debate is the 5v5 question. Not this 2v2 nonsense. Collectively Bron-KD are better on defense, shooting, finishing and are more athletic so this isn’t even a good question to be honest.

The idea that players couldn't adapt to today's game is absurd. Bird COOKED Pippen even with a bad back in the early 90s. Pippen played until 2004 and was the leader of the Blazers team in 2000 that almost beat Kobe and Shaq in the WCF. I can name several role players that were drafted in the 80s that played into the 2000s and did well.

Bird used to torch the super athletic guys of the time like prime Dominique Wilkins. I got no doubt that he could do the same against Lebron and Durant. Magic was also a beast and torched taller guys than Lebron and Durant when he played Center. This is a lot closer than people think.

Magic was such an underrated shooter. Magic attempted less than 1 3 a game his first 9 seasons. He didn't start shooting 3s really until his final season in 1990-91 when he shot 38.4% on 3.5 attempts per game. He adapted his game. He definitely would be an above average 3pt shooter if he played today.

I am going Magic and Bird. Both great leaders and have tremendous in terms of playing basketball. Not to mention Larry Bird was an unbelievable shooter with 50/40/90 splits in 86 and 87. And they will probably go to the post more and score more easy baskets.

Magic Johnson and Larry bird from back in the day in today’s times would be even better than they were back then if they were in today’s times and lebron and kd would not be the same players if they were in the 80s based on the training they would’ve received back then they would be good still but no who they are today

Prime Larry Bird is the closest thing to Batman in the real world. Every nuance was master class and beyond what you'd think was possible. Basketball is mostly a team game, and in that regard I’m taking Larry and Magic. 2 on 2 it’s no question KD and LB.

C'mon man, I'm going with prime Larry and Magic. It would be close but Bird was money from any range and Magic was tall, big, and an underrated scorer if he had to be. Prime Larry was quick, active, and could use both hands inside to add to his GREAT shooting as in 90, 50, and 40. Bird was a walking bucket if he wasn't so unselfish...people forget how great prime Bird was. Prime Bird is easily top 5 for me and higher than Magic on the all-time list in my opinion.

A question like this is impossible to answer, Bird and Magic lived in a completely different era in terms of how the game was played, diet, training etc. I know mentally I’d go with Bird and Magic because they would talk and trash anyone off a court, physically you’ve got to go with KD and LeBron. One thing I don’t think is being mentioned is in that scenario who would want it more, now we all should know Bird and Magic never backed down, can’t say the same for a KD and LeBron. Larry is still pissed and can’t let it go that he lost to Magic in college finals, even with what he achieved in the NBA, and Magic may be his friend but still is looking for something he can find so him and Bird can go at it again and all those rings haven’t put his fire out. There’s no diet or training that can change what’s inside. It would be close and over a series physicality may come through but you can’t just discount Bird and Magic, those 2 knew how to win and adapt.

Magic and bird are just too crafty and move too well without the ball. The screens and back door cuts would be ridiculous. Lebron doesn't move well without the ball and Lebron is a quitter once they start losing. Bird would talk Magic out of his game as well.

You can't put a top European cuisine chef in a Chinese cuisine restaurant and expect good results just because he's a top chef. It just doesn't work like that. Jordan/Pippen vs. LeBron/Durant would be a better matchup to analyze.
