How come no one said that about Ali? MJ himself telling people he’s black jesus. How you get a name doesn’t matter it’s about can you back it up and most people in the public eye will not give their true feelings or thoughts being interviewed or questioned. No one is “great” accidentally. Egos are thick and no star is as humble as image creation may portray them.
@@Karll541 I didn’t say he came up with it. I said he has proclaimed it. When I first spoke (not sure if that was on your line or someone else’s) my point was there’s players who claim names. It’s not about how you got a name it’s can you back it up. I. E. If I come to the park calling myself “buckets” I’m leaving that park getting called “buckets”. Ali called himself the greatest. @@dominiquejones3805It depends, I think Isaiah is one of the best but I can't see him being better than Magic at all. Not even close imo. Magic is one of the greatest all-time players, he accomplished as much or more than most in almost half time time of a lotta other top 10 players aside from MJ. His rookie season alone had one of the most legendary finishes ever. Isaiah is great but not even top 10 I don't think. But really neither were pure John Stockton style PGs, Stockton was one of the absolute best pure 1's. But both Magic and Isaiah were a little more versatile to me, Magic with his size and Zeke with the physicality, they could slip into whatever role they needed to play where a more pure 1 is an ultimate ball mover and facilitator that only shoots when they're the best option and nothing better is opening up in time. Magic and Isaiah could shake it up in a number of ways.
I’m a long time Celtics fan and over the years I’ve seen the best of both Jordan and Lebron. They’re two of the greatest players ever, but I don’t recall opposing teams and fans having the same sort of awe for Lebron that we all had for Jordan. If you were a fan when Jordan played and don’t just rely on statistics you’d know what I mean. After all, it was Jordan who raised the profile and popularity of the NBA in the entire world. If there were two competing teams with comparable levels of talent, and I had to pick one player to make a difference, I would pick Michael Jordan every time, without question!
Yeah Jordan was probably better but it's not by very much. If Jordan made it to the finals with that ass Cavs team he woulda lost to the Warriors to. The Bulls won 55 ganes without Jordan after he retired the first time. The Cavs were the worst team in the NBA after LeBron left. But LeBron was on other teams that lost in the finals that were pretty good. There hands down the 2 best players I have ever seen. They could carry teams like no one else ever has.
Lebron was caught purchasing illegal ped's from the biogenesis lab in 2013, but no one is allowed to talk about that. Jordan deserves more credit for being an all natural athlete.
@@rajathnayak5624 I can prove it very easily. Look up the biogenesis ped's scandal from 2013. Many athletes were caught including Lebron. Just google it.

Lebron would never.
Jordan pushed his teammates to be better. Worked with them to be better. He was coachable. Playing pg when asked. Buying into the triangle offense. He didn't stop playing defense. He didn't act like a fool when there were blatant no calls against him. The narrative around brons selflessness baffles me. He literal controls the game to the point where the team has no identity when he is off the court. He chooses who eat and who doesn't. But he always makes sure he eats first. That's why you see every 3rd superstar on his team suck. No chemistry. Just talent and James way.
Let’s not forget the inability to win a chip without at least 3 HOF/allstars. And at the same time, losing chips with at least 3 HOF/allstars on his team. Lebron : I am the GOAT, and I am trying to break records by longjevity to look greater. Jordan: I dont need to break records by longjevity, I retire, may the people judge me. *Jordan > Lebron*
LeBron's NBA Finals record against his contemporaries: 1-3 vs Steph Curry (top 75 player all time) 1-2 vs Tim Duncan (top 75 player all time) 1-2 vs Kevin Durant (top 75 player all time) 0-1 vs Dirk Nowitzki (top 75 player all time) He does have one winning record though 👀 1-0 vs Jimmy Butler (not top 75 player all time)
Lebron is a clown saying that, he should be happy being considered top 10 with his record of choking in the playoffs and usually needing a superteam to win. Stats are generational, 6-0 in the finals? GOAT JORDAN
As a Spurs fan it's disrespectful to put himself over Tim especially since Tim owned him in the finals. As a Wade fan I knew as soon as he got there casuals would forget they won before he got there because they give James credit for everything.
It's insane how they skip Tim and Kobe who have two of the best finals records against a time soaked with Hall of famers straight to the guy with the worst finals records since Jerry West in one of the weakest conferences ever
Lebron knew Wade was gonna be the FMVP that time he purposely let the team down against Dallas. He want all the glory to himself he'd rather lose than to give it to Wade. That's why Wade hated him after that.
Ahh hell nah don’t talk basketball if you truly have Tim and Kobe > Lebron. Literally any list that doesn’t have Jordan and Bron at the top is automatically invalid.💀 and before you try calling my a Lebron meat rider I personally have Jordan firmly as the GOAT. But a lot of people disrespect Bron like if he ain’t the only NBA player who you could actually argue against Jordan as the GOAT. Jordan and Bron sit at the top as the 2 greatest players and then it’s everybody else
The reason why this Lebron's "claiming" works in todays basketball is bcoz today's players aren't mentally tough like before. Isiah Thomas also said this "If I'm a player now after hearing this, dude I'm gonna get ready to DO YOU the next time I seen you on the court" I don't think that any player in today's league had THAT in him to just go out there and make this guy eat his words🤦🏽♂Soft groupies!
If Kobe's still with us, he would shut so many people up before they even try to talk, Mamba always spoke the truth disregarding people's weak feelings. We need men like Kobe especially these days
That's why Bill Russell and Tim Duncan are two of my favourite players. They achieved a lot with the "team first" mentality. I put both of them ahead of Lebron in my GOAT list.
Tim Duncan is a great choice, but Bill Russell?? Ya he was good, but he was good because he was first, not because he was necessarily an freak of nature. LeBron and Jordan are literally at least an oder of magnitude better than other players.
LeBronze all time scoring title title is like my 15k kills stat in league of legends that means nothing on how well I played but just how much I played. 14 seasons with 6 rings and 2 threepeats, ill take that.
Jordan was considered THE basketball player in the 80's, even before he won a title THAT's how good he was Let's get it straight: he's not the greatest because he won six straight titles. No, he won those titles because he's the greatest. See the difference?
Ik bro, its the new generation. They probably jus started watching bron as a Laker 🤣 I been watching the Nba since Bron first stint in Cleveland. A very simple scenario to consider, if a guy enters the NBA at 18, leaves at age 45 years old. Never wins a championship or even plays an NBA final, has a lower average points and assists per game. But break Lebron scoring record and passing record, is this new player better than Lebron. If Lebron fans would be honest they say no, but it is exactly the logic they use. More games played leading to more career points made does not make you a GOAT.
Lebron has MVPs, finals MVPs, great averages, even now at 38 great averages, stats, wins, championships. He has been the best player in the league longer than anyone ever, he has been a top 10 player in the league longer than anyone, he has the most All NBA team selections, most all star selections. Lebrons PER is higher than Jordan's in the playoffs from his first championship win to his last. His finals averages are better. He didn't play in the expansion era. He played in a far more competitive landscape. His finals competition was far better. Aside from scoring - passing, rebounding, defending - Bron is better at. All that - and he has been doing it longer than anyone. There is plenty of points that can lead you to the conclusion that Bron>MJ. Your "simple" scenario isn't so simple when there has never been anyone like that. End of day - Lebron is 38 averaging 30ppg. When has that been done? This record won't be broken for 100 years.

Giannis, KD, Curry and a handful of others are better than anybody Jordan saw. Not just that, the teams he faced outshine anything in the expansion era Jordan played in. The Jazz and 96 Sonics are the best teams Jordan ever faced. Let that sink in. You had Harden, Westbrook and Durant taking on Bron. Curry, Green, Klay and KD. Duncan, Leonard, Ginobili and Parker... Even the Miami Heat team those Lakers beat are probably better than the 96 Sonics talent for talent.
“If Lebron fans would be honest” Lebron has 4 rings and 4 finals mvps and 4 mvps, and 10 finals appearances but your guy has 0 of each. That’s not even remotely the same thing.
Basketball is a game to be played to win and to be number 1. That is not only in basketball but to all games. Games are being played to win. Let us put it in chess game, yes, you have taken your opponent's pieces but you did not win, was it worth it to have most of the pieces but you lose.🎉🎉😂😂😂
This is such a dumbass argument 🤣 Lebron has more game winners in the post season then kobe and Jordan combined Lebron put up better finals numbers then Jordan against far better opponents then any Jordan faced in the 90's Lebron in 2018 with the worst playoff team ever had the most 40+ point games in a single post season ever and the most game winners ever
That's idiotic.LBJ is a much less selfish player than MJ. Who is no. 4 all time in assists and no. 2 in NBA Playoffs History? It's not the bald headed cigar chomping gambler I'll tell you that. LBJ is no. 1 all time NBA points, no.1 in playoffs history by a long shot.
He alienates fans when he says he's the goat. A lot of people think Bird was a better 4 than Lebrick. Jordan used to play whole seasons. One time he wanted to play on a bad ankle but management wouldn't let him. He had a 'love of the game' clause in his contract that would allow him to play anywhere any time he wanted. Things like that made him a legend.
He had respect for his own brand, he knew that the fans paid money to watch him. That is the difference between eras really, one understood and respect the product and fans; the other is entitled. Entitled to take any day off because they felt like it, entitled to being the goat.

EXACTLY!!!! Something that most Lebron James fans will never learn about. MJ and like Bird and others will be always remembered to end of times. Players like Lebron James will be lost and forgotten in the pages of time.
I'm still confused what STATS prove LeBron is better? I'm pretty sure the longevity STAT argument has been debunked over and over, but averages, per game , and accomplishments go to MJ, I think LeBron is trolling maybe to help motivate himself because if he really thinks that he's delusional or a complete moron which I don't think he is.
It's from media's constant pushing of this narrative. As you said the only argument that favors LeBron is Longevity, that's it. Almost no one other than Max Kellerman, Brussard and Rob ever mention anything about stats. It's always he did this or he has the most points. No unbiased person with facts laid out on the table can say that he's the goat, it defies all reason!
This is because LeBron has been told he's God's Gift to Basketball since he was like 16.. So he fully expected to have his NBA Career make Jordan's look like how JJ Reddick looks at Bob Cousy... Once LeBron realized just how much winning Jordan did and that he wasn't going to surpass him, he (and I highly think it was under the direction of older NBA advisors who hate Jordan) started influencing the media to focus on certain things so that he could be viewed as surpassing Jordan or at least make it a great debate... Problem is other players who are similar to LeBron (great players, great stats, very very few Rings) all got kicked out of the GOAT convo under the stance of "Ok you got great stats but you don't win. Winning matters." With LeBron and LeBron Fans they are trying to change that standard so LeBron can be amongst the greats and keep their egos/pride in tact
Not giving 2 shits about all the kids in the crowd who wanted to see him play. Some maybe that was the only opportunity they'll ever get. That's what bothers me most about all these players taking so many games off. Total disregard for the fans.

Lebron James beat jordan and Kobe's record in points without the need to make the number of shots they made .. (1240 fewer shots, and Lebron had already passed jordan) .. means that lebron has more effectiveness to score. ..for those who do not understand, that means that for every hundred shots, lebron was more successful than jordan and Kobe ... and also beating them in assists, !! And not only that, also having more offensive and defensive rebounds .. Lebron James is simply an unprecedented player, and his records keep taking off more and more ... his versatility, speed and strength allow him to play all positions- point guard, shooting guard, forward, forward pivot ... things that neither jordan Neither Kobe, Malone, Magic, nor anyone else could ever do.
@@pianomusic9699 lebron is more efficient only because he is a small forward who takes more shots at the rim. Unfortunately, we only have data from jordan's last 2 bulls seasons, along with his wizards seasons (which im ignoring). MJ was attempting about 20% of his shots at the rim. Even then, bulls jordan and lebron both shot 50.5% from the field. Stupid argument. The problem is, the next big superstar will be compared to Michael again. That's when you know, LePuss never was near the GOAT. It's an artificial debate. Pushed for young people to have something to talk about.
In a way he was right. 20+ years later and there are people arguing that he isn't the GOAT because they *don't* know him like the people that grew up with him and have watched today's game know him.
The Stat thing is what a lot of lebron fans use especially Nick Wright and Shannon Sharpe they love using stats unless the stat debunks their goat argument and u made a great point or MJ did when I’m judging the greatness of players I go more off of watching them play then looking at the stats because as u said Stats alone are very deceiving I’ve said this since it happened when lebron decided to go to the Heat that immediately took him out of any kind of talk of being the greatest and then he choked on a stacked super team and was the sole reason the Heat lost that series that stamped it for me lebron will NEVER be the goat to me I don’t care if he found a way to win 9 rings after that it was over at that point
@Kauffman Family it wasn't stacked The heat with wade had 30 wins the year before lebron got there and the 4 Yeats preceding wade never got out the first round
It's not just stats lebron also played far better competition in the finals If you just take into account 15 17 and 18 In 15 lebron took the warriors 6 games with no kyrie and no love Then in 17 and 18 lebron faced a warriors team with 2 mvps in there prime, 4 all stars, and a dpoy And in 18 also lebron gad no kyrie when facing those teams Lebron would have 10 rings if he faced jordans 90's competition
You made a mistake. In Miami, Lebron didn't play in a system. Dwayne Wade, after they lost in 2011, saw fir to learn how to play off the ball so Lebron could control the ball more. How did Wade do this? He watched tapes of Michael Jordan.
so i'ts LBJ mistake he spent his season playing in the team he chooses to win, if dwayne watch too much MJ so as LBJ he tried to catch the ghost he could never hope to catch
They had 2 start playing n the LBJ system 4 him 2 b effective. Bosh really became a spot up shooter. What also happened was they played a young iso OKC
I am a very good judge of character and I can read people very well. I had always said Lebron was a closet "self centered" dude. LIke he tries to play the part of a humble guy, gracious, blah blah blah but deep down he's full of himself. That's the problem I have with people like that is when they pretend to be something they're not. Kobe, he was cocky, arrogant, self centered and he will tell you about it. He wasn't hiding that part about himself like Lebron.
Great Vid goatish forsure 🏀🥳🐐, and MJ never had to say it because all of us that witnessed his Career we all knew it and this is from a life long Rockets fan here in H-Town but respect and love are earned . MJ will always be our generation's 👑👑👑👑 👑👑
Wow this video is very well done highlighting very valid points and bringing up how the guys handle their cadres and priorities differently . Good job .
The biggest difference between the two in my humble opinion. Is that Jordan wanted to play against the best players in the league. And beat them to show how great and better than them he was. And LeBron wants to play with all the best players in the league. To get stats and try to win as many chips as Jordan. But somebody should have told him. That you play with the best players in the league during the Allstar. Games and in the Olympics. Not during the regular season. When you play against the best players during the regular season. That's what's called. Competition. But he doesn't want to compete. He just wants stats. But that doesn't make you the goat. Competing against the best players. And beating them and winning chips. Does.
MJ only lost one playoff series when he played with at least one All-Star on his team (oops, my bad, he's only had one All-Star on his teams) while LBJ has lost eight series when playing with one or more all-stars . In the play offs MJ is 20-7 against 50 win teams while LeBron is 10-9 and MJ is 7-2 against 60 win teams while LeBron is 3-4 . Pretty cut and dry as far as who the G.O.A.T. is. If it's about winning, it's pretty clear who is ahead. If it's about stats, the only stat LBJ is ahead of MJ is in longevity. With longevity comes the good (points, assists, steals, rebounds etc.) and the bad (turnovers, missed shots). Longevity doesn't make you better, it just means you played longer. Other than longevity, MJ is ahead in every other statistical category such as PPG. However, MJ won more League MVP's, Finals MVP's, scoring titles, steals titles, first team all defense selections, Defensive Player of the Year, not to mention championships, in less time than LBJ. I could go on and on but any smart person would have figured it out by now. There is no comparison between MJ and LBJ.

Pat Riley wasn’t going to let LeBron run his team like he did in Cleveland. LeBron had no choice but work with Spolestra & it resulted in some of his best seasons. I’ve always found it odd just HOW many coaches LeBron has had. If a coaches doesn’t bow down to him, he wants them gone for a coach who will Let’s not forget he got David Blatt fired in 2016 despite Cleveland being at the top of the Eastern conference at the time
Jordan transformed the style and substance of basketball, expanding the scope and meaning of athletic achievement. We still see his influence in ways big and small
Uncut Hoops, so appreciate this video!!! I've been screaming this for so long! Goat doesn't call themselves that, they just are. Just like the real animal, a goat ain't walking around saying hey, I'm a goat, but all of us call it that. It doesn't have to call itself that. Same principle. LBJ is disqualified by MANY things in being the greatest of all time. And rhe bad part is, he doesn't even know it. Smh
One of the most annoying things about LeBron and his fans are their hypocrisy. They jump up and down happy when he gets good stats but crucified Westbrook when he chased stats.
Prop to Lebron for his longevity and the way he takes care his body, but I think deep down inside, he knows he didn’t have Jordan’s hunger and mentality for winning. So he took the stat padding route.
In 20 years time nobody will remember this debate. There will be new Lebrons, Lukas, Gianises who will be compared with the GOAT again. Lebron's fans are loud right now as he still plays the game.
I always use the Karl Malone having more total points than MJ to destroy the LeBron debate. MJ played less seasons. The same goes for Vince Carter fans saying he was a better in game dunker than MJ. Yet in 22 seasons Vince had 941 dunks compared to over 2900 in game dunks for MJ in 7 less seasons. There's not a single dunk that Vince did that MJ couldn't do....but Vince could never jump from the free throw line while cocking it back and bending his legs.
Been saying the same for years about VC and MJ. He's the best in game dunker ever and nobody's even close at 2nd. Especially considering the peak era of bigs MJ did it in.
I really do think if Jordan didn't miss those 5 year's in his prime that Jordan would have 8 rings possibly 9, NO matter what people say Jordan's the GOAT and always will be the GOAT!!!!!!
When you think you're great, you tell someone you're great. When you're the greatest, people around you will tell you that you're the Greatest Of All Time. Thats the difference between a great player and the GOAT.
Me: Even if Lebron plays countless decades, surpassing MJ, KB, Steph, Kareem and other former NBA legends a million times....he will always be just 'One of the best player in NBA'.. But never come close to GOAT debate
This reminds me of when I was at my fitness gym about 3 years and they had a basketball on the second floor. Long story short, I was getting free to score, but was missing easy buckets because I hadn't played any kind of ball in about 15 years so I was out of synch. I was so angry and distraught at myself! But rather than let it get to me, I readjusted and went into my guard mode. I sacrificed trying to score and focused on setting up my teammates. But the guy guarding me knew I still had some game left, so he stuck with me and I was able to draw him away from the middle and let my teammate who was hot, do his thing. As a result, we won three straight games and I only scored about eight points in all those games. It's a good thing I saw some of the best guards and floor generals in their prime while growing up! All that to say that if LeBron was the basketball historian he claims to be, he would've never said what he said!
Jordan was extraordinary. Nothing like you have never seen before. Remarkable. Incredible. It wasn't just a killer mid range fade away jump shot. Some shots just would have you like, wow. We didn't see that coming. And he made it look easy. It wasn't just the jump shot. It has never been anyone quite like him. Nothing in comparison. Kobe came close. But never could pull off on the fly some of the most unforgettable moments in NBA history. It was a lot of good players and teams that couldn't win unless Jordan retired. Lebron has teams that's beat him 6 different times in his finals run. The Buffalo Bills made it 4 str8 times without winning. There you go lebron. You belong in that same boat with them. He lucky to have four and not just 2. Someone else had to win it. He loaded up on teams to assemble a team that worked, give a little edge. If it wasn't for Ray Allen Spurs get them twice in a role. If it wasn't for Kylie the warriors get them also. He luck he has 4 🏆. With 3 different teams. Lebron has accomplished some great stats during a 20 year career. Tom Brady has 7. Now who's really better? Jordan has 7 rings total. My Tarheels and the Bulls never lost a finals appearance. Get mad kid from Ohio
This may be beyond the scope of this video but Lebron's behaviour is typically that of a man raised without a father as to a man raise by one. Lebron is always in his feelings and he's manipulative like a female while Micheal display humility and the composure of a real man never disrespect another man legacy for selfish gain it a shame to even have this boy's name mentioned in the same breath as a real man. Happy Brithday MJ!! the man, the G.O.A.T, the Legends Legend.
Lol that’s because he didn’t have one..but still he has the responsibility to better himself as a person he still has that child like mentality unlike Jordan
To me, deep down Lebron knows he couldn't surpass Jordan with championships and even if he did, it took him much longer and more tries. So with his career winding down, he chose the only thing he knew he could have over Jordan and that's the scoring title. Now that he's got that, he's just going to coast to retirement. Great video as always.
Lebron for his career is shooting only 37% outside of 3 feet and in the playoffs that goes down to 31%. This to me is a huge weakness and Jordan didn't have any...not one. If you combine this with Jordan being SIGNIFICANTLY better on defense and also much better in clutch moments (especially in the playoffs where Lebron has many meltdowns) it's just really not a contest. Lebron is probably the 2nd best player I've watched since the early 80s but the gap between him and Jordan is actually pretty big.
Everyone seems to forget that LBJ was drafted on 2003 yet he was nothing during the early 2000's he got his first championship after his trade in Miami with 2 superstars and the best supporting cast yet hi got destroyed by the old dudes from the spurs, not to mention that LBJ fans disrespected Ray Allen on 2013 after saving LBJ's ass and giving him his back to back championship.
I was a big fan of Lebron for many years but the first time he called himself the goat my jaw about touched the floor because of all the reasons you mentioned. The fact that I never heard any player call themselves the goat, and how MJ always gave the utmost respect to the greats he never played against and refused to call himself the goat when absolutely most people were, it was so off putting that Lebron said that. Lebron has been very interested in building his resume on an individual basis and totally motivated to stat padding over anything else including winning...which is why a goat plays the game. Period. Exclamation mark etc. etc. etc. Also a P.S. as far as Lebron getting the "all time scoring record." Who's the better scorer, the guy who's the all time points leader or has the highest scoring average which is Jordan at 30.1 to Lebron at 27.2. also Lebron has one scoring title in 20 years.MJ has 10 scoring titles. So the all time points scored record has been a media hype for recent ratings and talking points but doesn't mean as much when analyzed.
I've been comparing LeBron to Emmit Smith ever since it was a foregone conclusion he would break the record. So glad he included that in this video. If Barry or Walter had the longevity Emmit had they'd be number 1. If Jordan has the longevity Kareem and LeBron had at the he'd be number one. Kareem has 488 games over Jordan. That would give Jordan an extra 8000 points if you extrapolate his average out. Of course he would've had a gradual decline. But he averaged 25 with Washington. So, the decline wouldn't have meant much.
Don't even compare how Emmitt and LeBron are the same. Emmitt never said he was the best in fact he has said Payton is the best and Barry would have broken the record and put it out of reach for him. Emmitt never manipulates the news by hiring Shannon Sharpe and Nick Wright to spread his propaganda
@@davidstewart799 dude... I'm not saying EVERY aspect of them is the same. I'm only talking about the scoring record. Calm your dumbass down and learn how to comprehend what you read.
