I was fortunate enough to witness Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird play growing up. I was also blessed to see Michael Jordan dominate a game live in Philadelphia against a prime Allen Iverson where they both put on a show. I witnessed the late great Kobe Bryant in high school as our high schools were 45 minutes away from each other and I followed him throughout his hall-of-fame NBA career. I know it was a different era and it is hard to compare players of two different eras. The media landscape was different too. No social media, no minute-by-minute sports updates, no viral videos etc. But seeing Lebron James complain, blaming others or outside factors for losing games and losing series takes credibility away from him and then him saying coming back from 3-1 and winning a title in Cleveland makes him the G.O.A.T. is the reason why he will never be the greatest. Who says that while STILL playing in the NBA?! Lebron is a hall-of-fame player for sure but will never be the greatest of all time and that is simply from a statistical analysis. When you factor in the need to build "super teams" to win titles and constant lack of responsibility you simply have to count him out of the G.O.A.T discussion.
