1. The Bucks had already won a championship before. There's a difference between a 50 year NBA Championship drought and a 56 year sports championship drought. 2. He said he felt like the GOAT after beating GS, not that it made him the GOAT.
@@tntcrewEJ bro what? How you gonna straight up lie? “He said it made him feel like, he didn’t say it made him” Lebron direct quote: “that one right there made me the greatest player of all time” ….. “after winning one after that drought, that made me the greatest of all time” Did you even watch the video?
All just bias and patriotism. The reality is your skill speaks for itself no matter how arrogant or humble you are. No matter if you ever say your great or the greatest or never say you are. Honesty is best tho Lebron is great at what he does. One of the best ever. No amount of self proclamation of being the goat will change that. Nothing will either change the fact that in reality, MJ is better than Lebron And nothing will change the fact that wilt and bill Russell are clearly greater than jordan and lebron and all others in history no matter what they say about themselves ever cuz skill speaks for itself. Dont let emotion get into judgement
@@Nate-ce2hn and jordan said multiple times that he is not the best cuz of guys like wilt and west. Trust me you don’t wanna play the asinine quote game cuz it will only get uglier since I Gotta ton of jordan and Kobe quotes going against their own goathood. Stick to reality where actions speak louder than quotes kid. Lose lose but at least you won’t be that much of a hypocrite trying to tell me what someone is quoted saying when your goat is saying things that side with me 100%
You don't blow your own horn. He is just being too arrogant. He will never be greater than MJ, never. Isaiah Thomas is not someone I would ask for an opinion because anything he says is going to be biased against MJ. I respect nothing he has to say. He vasilates back and forth on what he says all the ltime.
Exactly! People will naturally give someone that *title* if they feel it's deserved. Brady never called himself the G.O.A.T over Montana. Hell a lot of the *same people who watched Jordan also watched Montana and now say Brady is the G.O.A.T.* But LeBron's fanbase is always says *its hating, you don't appreciate greatness, it's old head mentality.*
3:17 - 3:26 is the difference between players of the 80 and 90 versus 2020 players. They were competitors back then. Now they're just happy to be famous and rich.
@@coachwane it's bigger than that and you know it. Really I think it's gotta do with the way that money hustle culture escalated from the 90's to the 2000's/2010's
@@kpnxtra7894 yeah they guy who barely defends and has airballed multiple freethrows over his career. wouldnt catch mike/kobe or kawhi for that matter *MISSING THE RIM*. its embarrassing to call him the goat.. hes the best small forward to play but far from the goat
The bulls never won a championship for 25 years from 66' to 91'. MJ won his first championship for that franchise and stopped the Cavs from winning a championship before Lebron james ever existed.
I still to this day don't understand why this is even a debate? Of course Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time, it ain't even close. But why is it a terrible thing to be considered the second greatest player that ever lived? Which most regard LeBron James as! Why is that a terrible thing? You know how many great players have come and gone through the NBA since it's inception! And LeBron James is widely regarded as the second greatest ever! That's not being disrespectful, that is huge props! Michael Jordan only played 13 seasons (not counting his wizard's stint) and went to six championships and won them all in six games or less! All time leader in scoring average, all time PER leader, five-time mvp, six-time finals mvp, one-time defensive player of the year, nine time first team all defense. Second most game-winning shots in NBA history behind Kobe bryant. And he never left the Bulls when things were tough early on to go and join some super team to chase rings. And I just scratched the surface! To even be in the debate with Michael Jordan should be a huge honor for LeBron james!.
No way around it, he said he was the GOAT himself. He made himself "Mr. Perfect" right there. In wrestling there was a late great "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig. But in wrestling it's like show business. He was playing a character. I'm surprised there wasn't a bounty for him from other players. If only folks like Bill Laimbeer, Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson and Rasheed Wallace was playing against him. And now that he won his 4th title with Anthony Davis, he is demanding respect. As the GOAT, he should've been able to win a championship by himself. And he was just lucky that Steph Curry and Klay Thompson was hurt and the Warriors were not in the playoffs.
This is the dumbest shit I’ve read today. No player has won alone, and to ask someone to win alone today is the dumbest, and most hating ass thing a person can say. Because it’s just not realistic in todays NBA. Get over your blind hate AND envy for a man you DON’T KNOW!
Tiger Woods, or any great golfer from the past, would never call themselves the goat... Even though it's an individual sport. Boxers are a different breed, they're going out there and beating each other up, so saying that you're the greatest is part of the game to get in the head of your opponents.
…..and this coming from a HOF player (1990 Finals MVP Isiah Thomas) whose bad boy Pistons eliminated Scottie & Michael’s Bulls in the conference finals two years in a row (1989- 6 games; 1990-7 games)
And LeBron needs to remember that he's playing in a era where the game of basketball isn't as physical as it was back during the era of Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kareem, etc. And competition was a lot tougher back then as well. So LeBron should keep that in mind before he calls himself the GOAT.
Lebron-loving millennials would declare from now seemingly until the end of time that coming back from a 3 - 1 deficit against the so-called “greatest team ever” is better than never having been in a 3 - 1 hole to begin with, never going to a 7th game, and NEVER losing in the title round ... give me a break Lebron ..
So the millennials that were born, say, ‘92 onward, grew up watching Michael?? Really?? At the age of 3 or 4 they were digesting what he was doing? I’m not referring to the entire millennial birth time range
The words came out of his mouth. But in the context he's saying just saying what he said to himself in that moment. Who did he tell besides himself? This is why media and fans don't have as much access to players. In his happiest moment, he let the world in on what he was thinking and then people want to try to rain on his parade. Heck, given the circumstances of him winning in Cleveland, I'd feel the same way in his position. 1. It was the Cavs 1st and only championship. 2. They played a Warriors team that everyone was calling the greatest NBA team ever since the broke regular season record by going 73-9. 3. They were down 3-1 and no team has ever come back being down 3-1 in the Finals. 4. He literally led every single statistical category for BOTH teams which had never been done in any playoff series, let alone the NBA Finals. I think it would be pretty normal to tell yourself you're the GOAT, given all the parameters involved. It's not like he was nobody before that championship he had already routinely been in GOAT discussions for several years before. The way he won 2016 championship would make anyone feel like they've solidified themselves of being greatest given his individual resume.
This is stupid reasoning. There have been great players ine very single era. The only thing watered down are the rules, but players can adapt to rules EASILY.
Every era is better than the previous one, people don't go backwards. The only time this might've been true was when the 70s talent pool was divided between 2 major leagues.
Kevin Mchale said it exactly. The Goats of Sports never say that about themselves publicly, it's way way too disrespectful to the players before and the era before. That's why people like MJ and Kobe never dabbled in answering that, They always said they would never disrespect the generation before.
“I am the greatest”- Ali The media has been trashing Lebron’s name for about 20 years now and around 15 years at the time. Disrespecting one man’s legacy to prop up another. If there was no truth to it they wouldn’t feel threatened. Betting on yourself doesn’t take away from your accomplishments no matter how much the media wants it to. 🐐
Saying you’re the greatest in an individual sport is different than saying it in a team sport. LBJ has consistently talked about needing help and all that. So when he says: I’m the greatest of all time… it takes away from the team part of it. Ali or Mayweather saying that, is different because it’s a sport that relies solely on yourself. Plus, LBJ is saying that as he continues to play. So he felt like he was the GOAT 3 years ago (before he won a ring in LA)… just a bad look.
That was the stupid things he said to himself. He cant win a championship without collecting so many superstar on a team. If his playing on jordans era, rodman will own him. Theres no physical defense on his era
There should be a Goat Team for every era and or a Goat for each position according to individual accomplishments and stats on record but that has to be also by the same length of time played to make it even and fair. Some got injured early and retired early, some went to college, and some did not, giving these players more longevities.
He definitely one the best to lace them up but he isn't the greatest to play this game especially watching him take plays off on defense never seen Jordan or Kobe do things lbj say or do
Stop crying dawg if you rewatch the video he said that one right there made me a greatest player of all time and he is refering to the 52 year drought and the comeback on cleveland and bring home a champ
Ever since spring 2011 it’s like he left the goat conversation in the media for some reason when he continued to make all nba teams and all nba D teams. And surpassed MJ in pts.
I think right now he regrets saying that back then nowadays he matured a lot since then and thats what everbody has to go trough or you dont go forward in your life in my opinion gotta make some mistakes
If we all grew up watching mj play he’d be goat to lile 90% of us. These kids never seen him play live like myself. That’s why they all like lebron because they’ve seen him play. He’s are generations goat. That’s it
Great point by Webber. No legend would ever say such a thing. This is just another reason LeBron is NOT the GOAT. LeBron the player is an amazing talent. LeBron's Character is what I question. And I don't question the Character of Russell, Jabbar, Bird, Jordan and many others. How does anyone sit there and listen to LeBron bury himself without saying STFU
The thing about Michael Jordan versus Kobe Bryant and LeBron James or any other great debate Michael Jordan ruled the NBA in his time when he hit his prime and became the ultimate player it was just hand him the ring and it took him to retire for somebody to get a break so a different team can win beyond the Bulls Dynasty then he comes back and rules the rings 3 in a roll the man goal is to make you team win James didn't do it before leaving Cleveland and he damn sure did have players that can go on and score the most points on the team by they self Kevin Love Kyrie Irving Chris Bosh Dwyane Wade if you see with any player that Michael Jordan had on his team did not go to a team to be the single man Scottie pimping probably averaged more than 30 points in a game with the Blazers Houston Rockets but when he left the Bulls and went to the Rockets he wasn't all out just a dominant player when he was at the Bulls by his self he wasn't just the high Elite player it is definitely some kind of misunderstanding between the rings that LeBron James got vs Kobe Bryant's rings versus Michael Jordan's Rings the difference LeBron rings are whining and cry babyish to me is he really needed help to win his rings they are superteam rings Kobe Bryant was selfish as f*** a ball hog Michael Jordan was I can score all the points LeBron James rings are so much of a desperate run to help just like KD going to the Golden State Warriors when his team that he left Oklahoma City Thunder was one of the top contenders in the NBA so for him to leave a good team to a different team that's on the same level said a lot about the ring he wanted he was weak to me I feel the same thing about LeBron James this is my own opinion
chris webber, kevin mchale, isiah thomas. self proclaiming you're the best is a disrespect to the ones like these guys who came and played before you. hell even mj said i dont wanna call myself the greatest cuz its a disrespect to the ones came before me and guys like bird and magic who were once the face of the league says he is.
It is not even close. Lebron plays in a soft NBA. Jordan won 6 no losses, no game 7 and a retirement in the middle. Would have won 8-9 if he never retired and the Bulls didn’t break up the team. Personally Lebron reminds me if a Karl Malone with more Finesse. Lebron never went up the middle on a Rodman, Oakley. Mason, Shaq, in their prime where they could literally punch you and get away with it
LeBron was never the best player to ever play the game, nor will he ever be the best player to ever play the game. Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant Kareem Magic Johnson Larry Bird Bill Russell Tim Duncan (maybe Wilt) were far better basketball players ⛹️ than he was.
Humility seems like a thing of the past these days… isiah is a gentleman and he puts the nail on the coffin on this subject. New generation thinks arrogance is superior but they clearly lack the fundamentals of wisdom.
That doesn't make him the G.O.A.T. Cleveland Calaliers was founded in 1970 and the Bulls was founded 1966. Lebron brought Cleveland their one and only win, but Jordan also brought Chicago their only win. The diffence is that Jordan did it 6 times. All of the Bulls wins were under Micheal Jordan. So who's really the G.O A T.
I wish I could share videos to the comment section but Jordan did go on record calling himself the greatest. He also went on record saying the opposite by giving love and respect to those before him but nonetheless he did call himself the GOAT before. I've seen it so let's be real lol... there is nothing wrong with having confidence in yourself no matter who you are. If Mario Chalmers came out today and called himself the GOAT, I'd disagree heavily but I'd admire the confidence that he has for himself. I call myself the GOAT of Madden all the time (I truly believe I am, play me lol).
He didn’t say facts. He said that is how I felt. No one caught that part. He did something for the game. He sparked a discussion that has given attention to former players and the league.
I think he was sitting in front of a microphone 🎙. Someone was asking him questions. Everyone has had a moment when they were feeling themselves on whatever level in life they are on. There have been players who will make it to the Hall of Fame but have shown flashes of greatness in a game here and there. This Brother has done it consistently for nearly two decades. At what point in a Hall of Fame career do you have the blessing to speak your mind? The man is an ambassador for the Game on and off the court.
@@sid6608 you bronsexuals are cashuals, Kyrie won one of LeBrons rings for him and averaged well over 25 points per game but you bronsexuals always leave out that part
Mfs taking that shit way outta context, any athlete that in their right mind that led their team and made literal history that people never thought could happen would think IN THEIR MIND, would think themselves as the best. IN THAT MOMENT that’s what he thought.
Isiah Thomas back in the day, would have made it his mission to put a hurt on Lebron for saying that! LOL!!! Lebron has never had entire teams physically knocking you to the ground. The Pistons would have made Lebron cry. Isiah is right about humility. When Lebron actually plays a preseason , a full season and then finals and championship then we'll talk.
Players that have brought chips to small market teams or no ring cities. Oscar and Kareem Milwaukee Giannis Milwaukee Wade and Shaq in Miami Walton in Portland LeBron is overrated
What’s up with today’s players. LeBron self-proclaimed himself the goat. Curry self-proclaimed he’s the best point guard ever. Calling yourself the best always looks bad. And If you have to say you are the GOAT... you're not the GOAT. Shout out from Indonesia. MJ is the GOAT and Magic is the best PG Ever!!!
