Seems more like the mainstream media is more sad that Steph, KD and LeBron are out of the playoffs then actual fans. Their jobs are easy when all they have to do is talk about the same 3 players and same 3-4 teams. Now that its their responsibility to learn who these new faces are to educate their audience, they've instead found a way to devalue the remaining playoff teams by insinuating that the "passing of the torch" isn't good for the league instead of helping promote the next wave. Building and promoting the value of the remaining teams can only help the league by educating the casual fans they seem so worried about

Granted it’s the past/history and ppl nowadays dnt care of it but it means something of significance. the only problem with super teams is the fact gms and owners got so infatuated with them they decided to trade away there depth to build these teams when you look back in history though all the super teams that actually worked were acquired from free agency for ex. bron to the heat and kd to the warriors nothing was given up to create these teams as opposed to draft capital and bench depth like with the suns and nets , you can typically trade for one superstar and be fine but trading for 2 kills your team

The thing about the post season that’s amazing is the fact that you always learn about new faces making an impact in real time. Rather than hold on, the league can only grow by exposing fans to the new stars competing and those who will be competing for the for seeable future. main issue is: you don't have a US star yet. Except emerging Ant-Man and injured Ja, the other new coming "faces" of the league are: Jokic, SGA, Luka, Giannis, I could add even Jamal Murray. Embrace what the game is becoming and the storylines in front of us. The Kings, built and coached like Golden State, knocked GS out this year. After losing to them last year. Ant just grabbed KD's throne and showed how much he loves KD by yelling in his face, exactly like KD yelled in Bron's. Now Jokic has beaten Bron Twice. These stories are amazing. The problem is that this old guard is still playing very well, just surrounded by poorly built teams. But I'm enjoying it.

You all don't "know enough" about these dynamic young players because you all tend to almost exclusively devote your coverage to your favorites; this is great for the league, especially as this era's "Super-Team formula" has been utterly exposed by the effectiveness of good basketball teamwork. I, for one, would love to say goodbye to LeBron, Steph, Durant, Harden, etc. Time to move on, their collective failures is evdence of it.

The face of the league for the playoffs right now IMO is Anthony Edwards whose team annihilated KD and the Suns. Time now to see if ANT can ascend to the next level by beating Jokic and the Nuggets. Jokic is my next choice. Luka can make a case as well but he's facing the reliable choking team that is the Clippers and I just think Tatum is overrated.

I think the media worry too much about who the face of the league is. It’s fine if there are varios important faces. You have Jokic and Giannis, who the media refuses to accept because they aren’t from USA, but wouldn’t a finals between those two be super hype? There is also Luka, and Tatum, and now Shai and ANT. i think it’s fine to have this kind of layout for the league. I mean, ratings weren’t exactly doing that good before with Lebron and Steph either, at least not compared to the past, except for those GS vs Cavs finals. Maybe a change will bring new stuff for the league. And maybe a bit more team focus would be good, more rivalries could be formed like Celtics Bucks, Nuggets Minnesota, etc. This could be really good for the league.
