Hank Aaron's HR record was a longevity record - he never hit 50 HR in a season, and isn't generally considered among the game's top power hitters. LeBron is averaging 27+ ppg for his career - 5th all-time - that's longevity plus elite nightly scoring production.

Lebron played 19 seasons, while Jordan only really had 13 HEALTHY seasons, and he retired twice. No to mention Lebron is now Stat Padding his numbers in games where it is irrelevant. Longevity, I give it Lebron, lasting 19 seasons is amazing. However on a Per Game Basis, on a PER line, on a Metric Line, on an everything else line...Jordan is heads and shoulders above Lebron.

The times when Kareem was injured, Magic jumped up to 24-25ppg In An Era where the Rules did NOT cater to players of his position like it does now to players like Lebron, KD, etc, to where they have opened the game up for them to score with rules actually built around that. Not only that, but Magic would also take the last shot as well, and made HUGE important shots, especially in Finals games...so how many finals games have we had of Lebron making game winning shots? Moreover, Magic was a superior FT shooter, which is why he does not shy away from shooting the ball if he's fouled unlike Lebron who has shown numerous times over his career to shy away from the FT Line within the closing minutes.

Reducing this to simply a longevity record is not objective at all. It discounts that only has lebron remained in the league, but he has remained at the highest level of skill at scoring the ball. I'm not discussing whether he is the best scorer or not. But he has remained one of the great offensive talents and has sustained it for nearly 20 years Just give him his credit. He don't have to be your favorite but for the love of basketball, recognize the true nature of his accomplishments and that he is a unique legend in the history of the game.

I love how consistency; the ability to play at a higher level for a longer period of time THAN ANYONE IN NBA HISTORY is looked at as a negative. We're gonna penalize LeBron because he's invested in his health, his consistency, and has been able to be arguably the best player in the league for 15+ years? It's Lebron's fault that Jordan prioritized gambling, golfing, poker, and cigars over his health? It's LeBron's fault that others couldn't stay in shape, couldn't stop eating, couldn't stop drinking, and so on? At this point in his career, Jordan was a charity case. Most people don't even count this point in his career (along with his first 7 years but that's for a different conversation). Now compare that with Bron. Ppl are actually out there saying that Bron at 37 and in year 19 should be able to lead his team BOTH offensively AND defensively for 45 mins a night. No other player in history has been asked to do that but we EXPECT IT out of LeBron. SMDH. Anyone who takes achievements away from Bron because he's been able to play better for a longer period of time than anyone ever is a biased hater and has no business even talking about the subject.

There is a reason why Jordan is called a G.O.A.T despite Kareem having more points, more rebounds, having same amount of championships and being in one of the greatest dynasties that were winning rings while Jordan was figuring out how to do it.

LeBron James in the 90s he'd be even more devastating. He'd have to beat his own man, but once that happened, it wouldn't be hard to pick out open players. He averages nearly seven assists for his career; imagine how many he'd have if he could back someone down, draw a double-team and easily find the open man. Imagine how many points he'd get in the low post if he only had one man to beat each time. Jordan prolonged his career by learning how to back his man down and shoot over them when he realized no help was coming. The development of LeBron's post game would have come much faster if he didn't have to worry as much about reading that help.

Kobe wasn’t ready to play at a high level out of highschool. It took him 3-4 years to develop before he became the man. Kobe also played with another top ten player in Shaq and the best coach of all time. Plus Kobe got drafted by a world class organization in the Lakers, Bron got drafted by the Lowly Cavs. Kobe had a very fortunate career to play with Shaq, for Phil Jackson and to play for the Lakers! But Bron in that position and he would have 7 rings.
