Despite LeBron James’ Herculean effort in his fifth triple-double of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t close out the Houston Rockets in regulation as the King passed to Melo instead of taking the potential game-winning shot. Lakers falls to 28-37 and sit at number nine in the West after last night’s 139-130 OT loss to the last place Rockets. People like to bring up Jordan's 2 years in Washington when it comes to the GOAT debate but they finished 37-45 and 9th in the standings both years which would have been good enough for the play-in game had it been around then. The Lakers have to finish 10-7 just to finish with a better record. If you think LeBron is the GOAT, go ahead but it has nothing to do with their performances in the twilight of their careers just because LeBron has better offensive numbers.

Nah this isn’t the same. That team was garbage on paper from the jump, but Bean got them in the playoffs regardless, played defense and was scoring at historic levels. This is closer to Bean’s last healthy year in 2013 when he carried the Lakers to the playoffs. He had Dwight, Nash, and Pau but they couldn’t stay healthy or perform well. He carried them to the playoffs year 17 and tore his achilles

Carmelo Anthony was not signed for his defensive ability. Beating Carmelo Anthony is no big achievement. Lakers 1st Unit is an embarrassment. The veteran 2-Guards on the Bench Unit instead of the 1st Unit behind a rookie and a 10-day contract guy 3 separate times. This 1st Unit needed a veteran 3 AND-D PLAYER at the 2-Guard with previous NBA Playoff experience.
