@@solemagus4761 Secondly, the accolades argument doesn’t really work either because despite the media, literally despising LeBron James, he’s only one MVP behind Jordan (go to basketball reference and look at the MVP race for 2011 you can’t sit here and tell me that you think that Derrick Rose should’ve won it above LeBron James). Thirdly, all those stats that you brought up we’re all in favor of Jordan, except for total points you didn’t bring up rebounds assist, playoff, field-goal, percentage, or anything that favored LeBron despite that if you look, you can see that the difference between them is a few spots for almost everything and 1/2 for some meaning he’s right there neck and neck. And those other playoffs total you brought up for LeBron or all strictly longevity stats. The only reason he has those many missed shots, turnovers, etc. etc. is because he’s played for 20 years and made the playoffs for like 17 of them. Lastly, I’d like to say this, the only argument that Jordan fans really have for a him to be better than LeBron is scoring outside of that LeBron does everything and I do mean everything in the game of basketball better than Jordan (Jordan is a better on ball defender but Lebron better off ball so it cancels out imo). Also take the following into consideration a lot of people don’t have Wilt and Bill in their top 10 because of the level of competition who did Jordan really have to play? Stockton and Malone 😂. Shawn kemp and GP(Gary Payton is a dawg). WHO else? Compared to Lebrons comp it’s not even close😂. And don’t get me started on teammate/organization differences

Michael Jordan is widely known as the game's greatest player-and for good reason. "MJ" accomplished everything possible in the game, piling up on the stats and awards. On the game's biggest stage-the NBA Finals-Jordan went a perfect 6-for-6, also sweeping Finals MVP in his appearances. The most iconic NBA player the game will ever see, Michael Jordan is legendary. From his sneakers and his Jumpman Jordan logo, to his high-rising vertical, His Airness is like no other. The 6x NBA champion led a Bulls dynasty that will go down in history as one of the greatest dynasties in American sports Jordan transformed the style and substance of basketball, expanding the scope and meaning of athletic achievement. We still see his influence in ways big and small: kids wagging their tongues; the raging popularity plof basketball in China; post-up players leaning backward into defenders before making their move.!!! There is no debate on Jordan been the greatest who stepped on the NBA court and who ever denies it there is only one word for those people👉🏼 denialists

@@Jimmyd134 LeBron "just playing longer" than Jordan only adds to LeBron's greatness. He's been "just playing longer" at the absolute highest level only dropping off athletically slightly and still busting everybody's ass because he's that great. Jordan is ranked 132nd in rebounds all-time, so I'm not sure why you brought that stat up. Countless guards have more rebounds all-time than Jordan, so, again, not sure why you brought that up. The only players with more rebounds than LeBron were strictly Power Forwards and Centers. Also, the rest of LeBron's stats scream in your face that he gives more effort than anyone else. A team like that will not live aday without the reason it was built. Dont forget this is not a testimony to Lebron's greatness. This also contributes to reason why Lebron needs more talents but still won less, what a paradox. There is no player in NBA history who has played with half of the talents Lebron has played with. Magic, Kobe, Kareem, Bird, Duncan all played against better talents than Lebron with lesser talents but won more. MJ played against better teams than Lebron James with way less talents but never loss in the finals and won more. Lebron's top team mates with their PER and its rank all time; 1. Anthony Davis (26.97) 4th all time, 2. Dwyane Wade (23.48) 24th all time, 3. Kyrie Irving (22.39) 34th all time, 4.Russell Westbrook (22.29) 35th all time, 5. Kevin Love (21.03) 59th all time, 6. I really understood how MJ was better when I was asked to play Devil's Advocate and "prove" that LeBron was the GOAT. I had a hard time, not because I was biased, but because the facts were scarce. Jordan leads LeBron and the entire historical NBA in Player Efficiency Rating, Box Plus/Minus, Win share avg., and Value over Replacement Player (VORP) Jordan beats LeBron in MVPs, (6-4) He leads LeBron in championships (6-4) He leads LeBron in Finals MVPs (6-4) He has a better career offensive AND defensive rating He led his team in defensive win shares 10 times, to LeBron's 4-5 times He won DPOY. LeBron came in second one year He won 3 steals titles. LeBron has never won that award. He won 10 scoring titles. LeBron won once. He won 2 slam dunk championships. LeBron has never participated He is better compared to all other shooting guards in history than LeBron is to all other small forwards in history, based on the numbers When it comes to the areas LeBron is superior, like total numbers, that is because of longevity. To put it in perspective, if that makes LeBron greater, then he isn't the GOAT. Kareem is. In fact, Karl Malone should be in the conversation, for that matter. Malone has more points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and free throws than Jordan. Does that make him better all time? LOL

The reason why the Bulls was still successful even without MJ is because they had basketball culture and science behind it with the triangle. LeBron, on the other hand, the reason why his team always is garbage when he leaves is because he is THE system by design. It is more like ad hoc, no science and no culture... that's why they're all lost and don't know what to do. That's a knock against LeBron on my book, why? That means he never made the players to become better but rather just dependent on him and him alone... and their game are destroyed once he leaves and do ring chasing. Another argument against LeBron is this... Blake said that the GOAT must be the best in several categories... let's put this in context, and compare him with fellow small forwards... outside of PPG, APG LeBron isn't even in the top 10 in SPG, BPG and RPG and to make matters worse he is 1st in turn overs. MJ is top 3 in PPG, SPG, BPG, RPG and is 6th in APG (btw, MJ had a higher APG than Scottie Pippen) and MJ was 13th in turn overs. That's what context does... how can LeBron be GOAT when compared to fellow SF majority of the stats he isn't even top 10? With regards to clutch, majority of LeBron clutch shots had lower stakes... because majority were tied and missing it will just result to OT... there are many times when LeBron was non-existent in the 4th quarter... that's why the 6 losses.

I have to give Lebron credit for even getting people to consider this to be true. He is a great player but, not even close to the all time GOAT Michael Jordan. You can't compare Lebron and MJ. The difference between the two isnt like comparing apples and oranges. Its like comparing apples to extraterrestrial fruit from another planet. Hand checking was legal in Michael Jordans era. He put up huge numbers and was the GOAT in a much more physical era and a rougher tougher game of basketball. If you breath on someone in todays era its a foul. Lebron would be a mediocre player in Jordans day. Thats the problem we dont know how Lebron would do in Jordans era but, we do know that if you put less pressure on a pure shooter like Jordan. He is only going to put up more points. Just imagine how many points MJ would have averaged in the 90's if the defense backed off and gave him more room to shoot. It would be insane. The only reason Lebron beats Michael Jordan in certain stats is because he has played longer. Maybe that is because Michael Jordan played the full 82 game season 9 times. Lebron has only done that once. Jordan was the GOAT then. He would be the GOAT now. If Lebron played MJ in his prime in a game of 1 on 1. MJ would take that wannabe to school. All of you young fools who grew up watching Lebron play and have only seen Michael Jordan in highlights have no idea what you are talking about. I dont care who you are. When you ask most people who the greatest basketball player of all time is? They say Michael Jordan. Case closed. The end. Lebron doesnt belong on the same court. The argument that Lebron has scored more points than Jordan is not valid. The NBA in the last decade plays NO DEFENSE. Don't act like this is not true. A regular scoring game is always 110 plus points easy, and no it's not because the players are that much better. If Lebron had to play in Jordan's day he wouldn't have a third of the points he has now, end of story.

Like I said Emmitt smith had a great offensive line and the cowboys had other offensive weapons so the opposing teams couldn’t concentrate on him alone. Barry Sanders at times had to run against an eight or seven man front. Emmitt Smith had longevity over Barry sanders. When Barry Sanders walked away from football I would venture to say he could have played another two or three seasons and he would have owned the all time rushing records. Jordan literally leads in every important advanced metric - PER, win shares, VORP per 48 (not cumulative which is longevity-based), box score plus minus (both regular season AND playoffs for all of this). His achievements are a hall of fame career ahead of Lebron's - 2 Championships, Finals MVPs, an MVP, defensive player of the year award, 10 scoring titles to Lebron's 1, 9 1st team defense to Lebron's 5.... in 7 less years! I'm sorry but this isn't close. Everyone was making the same claims back when Kobe was in his prime and now they often rank him outside of the top ten. How we live in the moment. Lebron's arguments fall into these categories 1. assists/rebounds, but none of the others 2. longevity (the only thing he has aside from passing over Jordan) 3. straw man arguments, like trying to claim Lebron winning chips with three teams is somehow a positive and not quitting to create superteams.

NOT EVEN A DEBATE 1. Michael Jordan and Kareem had to Play 3 years in college (Lebron went right from High School) (All-time Point Leader)? 3 year head start to accumulate points to pad his stats. 1a. When they played, they actually played defense, not the matador defense they play now. If he had to actually play in the league the Greats played in, he would had took his ball, and cried all the way home. (Remember the Jordan Rules) 2. Adopted #23 and #6 - What a Narcissist, Opportunist. He want to be like Mike sooo bad . Took his number (when kids wear #23 he thinks they”re wearing it to idolize him.Took his powder throw. Took The number of Mr. Russell. (Knowing him, felt that he could get it grandfathered in, when no-one else could and he did! 3. NBA Dallas Playoff meltdown. Dwayne Wade had to hold his hand during the post-game press conference 4. Michael didn’t need have to go somewhere for someone to teach him how to win. 5. In all Michael’s Championships, he was the sole reason they won. No doubt who was The Man. 6. Without Ray Allen, Kyrie Irvin, Draymond Green and the Bubble , he would only have one. The sorry OKC Thunder. 7. Not to say all the individual awards that Jordan has. 8. So how can you be the G.O.A.T when in all your Big Achievements, you wasn’t the Main reason you won. Whereas with Jordan, there was no doubt.

When lebron fans bring up Jordan retiring they forget two critical points. Jordan helped develop the talent that the bulls drafted and traded. He never asked the gm for players, he just helped make them better and tougher. And secondly, the bulls ran an equal opportunity offense, like the spurs, like the warriors, like the early 200s lakers, the 80s Celtics, and even the 2011 mavericks. So when one player leaves, it doesn’t destroy the franchise, unlike having lebron. Lebron forces the team to draft, trade, and sign their futures away in order to get veterans that can do the things lebron doesn’t want to do, or can’t do. The rosters are completely built around him(because that’s what he wants). Then he dips out and leaves them with a roster that was built around him, not built around a team like the triangle offense. And look a Cleveland now and look at Miami now. Another finals appearance with less talent than lebron has ever had and the Cavs are a legit playoff team on the come up without him

It’s completely irrational and illogical to make team accomplishments in a team sport be considered a point for comparing 2 single players…….. It doesn’t matter if lebron somehow gets 7 rings….. No lebron fan should ever use the number of rings he has as to why he’s better than Jordan or anyone else. The more logical debate while using championships as a point is to compare the teams that won the championship as who’s better……. If player A averaged 39 points 22 rebounds and 15 assists over 20 seasons and player B averaged 47 points 29 rebounds and 19 assists…… Over 20 seasons. NO ONE IN THE WORLD WOULD EVER CHOOSE PLAYER A, there simply is no reason to do so when specifically asking “which is better player A or player B?” Then, the intangibles come in to play. How was player A’s competition? How was player Bs competition? Who had better defenders guarding them? Who had a higher efficiency rating? What did they average from 3 and field goal % overall? This isn’t rocket science but yet for years including the tv analysts bring up rings. YET NO ONE MENTIONS ROBERT HORRY OR BILL RUSSEL BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW RINGS ARE A TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENT……

Jordan played in a league full of sub-par to average players at best in comparison to today's players. Put any of those players in today's game and most wouldn't be starting - that's just the natural evolution of any sport LeBron is playing in a demi-god league and has been an underdog in 7 of his 10 finals appearances, which might I add to remind everyone that winning a championship is a team accolade, not an individual accolade. Jordan and the Bulls during their two three-peats were the most dominant team in the league in all six seasons. No wonder he and the Bulls during that stretch went undefeated; there was no competition. Knocking LeBron for his "longevity," though he's playing at the highest level still with only a slight knock on his athleticism and still busting everyone's ass, is the worst argument I've ever heard. They're both great, but LeBron is the greatest and most complete basketball player there has ever been.

You got three main categories when discussing the GOAT that aren't subjective and for the most part can be proven without doubt - personal accolades, team success and individual performance (ie stats). In each of these categories it is absolutely clear, like if you have no bias between one or the other player, that Jordan has been greater. There is no argument with the accolades - 5 MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, DPOY, 9 x 1st team all D, 10x 1st team all NBA, 10x scoring champ, 3 x steals champ for MJ vs 4 MVPs, 4 Finals MVPs, 5 x 1st team all D, 13x 1st team all NBA, 1 x scoring champ, 1 x assist champ. The clear winner there is MJ and he got most his accolades in just 11 full seasons as a Bull, LeBron is on his 20th and is still behind in all but two of the 8 above. Overall, MJ won 70 official, end-of-season accolades, 68 of which came in those 11 seasons. LeBron has won 64 in 20. He won't catch MJ this coming season nor will he catch him the season after that which means that in 22 seasons he would have won LESS than MJ won in 11. Jordan literally doubled the rate at which he collected his accolades. That is utterly insane given how good LeBron's career has been. You cannot understate this. When it comes to team success - 6 rings vs 4, again no argument. The ultimate goal of any non-tanking team going into every season is to win the championship. It isn't to get to the Finals, it's to win them. Nobody remembers 2nd place. Also, almost all of LeBron's team based success has come via self built superteams, he literally started the Superfriends Era. Winning by colluding with other All NBA talent to team up, breaching league anti tampering rules in the process, is not the right path to success. There is no integrity winning in this fashion. Either way, Jordan wins. The closest of the three categories is individual stats. When comparing stats it's not smart to look at raw numbers, especially when one player has played much more than the other and they're very closely matched players. The more accurate comparison is to look at box score based advanced metrics, in particular BPM, VORP, WS & PER. These metrics aggregate all of the possible measured individual ways a player can impact a game, in other words everything that shows up on a box score, their ALL AROUND ability as a basketball player. See, that's what that means, it doesn't just stop at points, assists and rebounds and then concluding 'well, LeBron has better rebound and assist numbers so he is the better all around player'. No, that is simplistic thinking. Some of these metrics are cumulative (VORP & WS) so the player who plays more will usually win out which isn't a fair reflection of their skills, it's better instead to break them down to per 48 numbers. No team ever won a championship because their best player passed some career milestone, they're nice but they don't win you games. What wins your team games is being the best player on the court, night in and night out. So it's in per-game numbers where success is born. And in all four of the above metrics, in BOTH the regular season and playoffs, Jordan comes out on top. In fact he's #1 all time in all of NBA history: BPM - Jordan: RS 9.2, PO 11.1 vs Lebron: RS 8.8, PO 10.0 VORP/48 - Jordan: 0.1359/0.1586 vs Lebron: 0.1300/0.1458 WS/48 - Jordan: 0.250/0.255 vs Lebron: 0.226/0.238 PER - Jordan: 0.279/0.286 vs Lebron: 0.272/0.279 MJ beats him in every single category. Also, RAPTOR puts Jordan above LeBron. His career RAPTOR +/- per 100 is 8.6 compared to Bron at 7.5. LeBron does hold the highest ever single season RAPTOR +/- of 12.6 to MJ's 12.3 but 7 of the top ten between the two belong to Jordan. Of the top 8 RAPTOR WAR single seasons by either player, seven belong to Jordan including the all time highest. I've also seen people comparing game score data, which is a bbref metric based on box score, similar to a fantasy basketball formula. Again, Jordan is better in both the regular (23.43 vs 22.29) and post season (25.05 vs 23.50) when you apply that formula to their career numbers. There should be absolutely no doubt in any neutral fan's mind that Jordan is the winner and clearly so. Which begs the question - how can one player who TRAILS the other in personal accolades, team success and individual performance be considered the better/greater player? It makes zero sense. LeBron is easily the second best player ever but he hasn't quite reached Jordan's level of skill and dominance. There's no shame in second best Bron fans, the guy is a phenomenal player, he just isn't the GOAT.

You are talking about accumulative stats when you go to the record books. 20 year is much longer than 13 years. that's not fair. go to the averages and lets see who is better.

He pulled out Lebron's teammates as if they were in their prime

Jordan played in a much physical era, that's why he couldn't play forever. And, longevity (in my opinion) doesn't count for the goat comparison. LaBron wouldn't last as long as long in Jordan's era. If a player entered the league for 1 year, and made 90% of his shots from half court. And, could dunk at will, and had a 95% free through percentage. He would widely be accepted as the goat. A more logical comparison is what Michael and LaBron didn't in the first 13 years. And, it wouldn't even be a question of who came out on top. Of course anyone could score more points if they played forever. Longevity is hard to accomplish, so props to LaBron, but it shouldn't be considered in the goat comparison
