I appreciate this led lesson very much. I am just beginning at yoga at 70. I eventually wasn’t to practice Astanga Yoga. Seeing all the different levels and different levels of flexibility practicing together and practicing the whole strenuous practice gives me hope that I too can one day perform this practice. Thank you. I’ll get there…..

As an instructor, I felt challenged to watch the room with no judgement and simply meet them where are. I noticed the people that couldn’t be helped in the moment and I found myself wondering (as if I were the instructor) “okay what better cues could I be calling” and it just changed the game for me. 🙌🏾

Thank you so much for uploading this and all the other led primary classes by these world class teachers. Most likely I will never have the opportunity to attend a class with any of them so this is a wonderful gift to me. Laruga is mesmerizing, wonderful, the class was invigorating, perfectly paced and cued. Thank you again from Budapest, Hungary ❤️

Marvelous. Perfect pace and flow (at least for me). There are many asanas I still can't do or can only do imperfectly, but one day I will get there. No rushing either, it will take the time it will take. I reckon sometimes I feel lazy and don't want to practice but the truth is that, after doing it, I never regret showing up at my mat. Thank you Laruga for such a great class. Namaste.

@Jgreenst08054
@Jgreenst08054 2 года назад
@@21chittu Greatly increased flexibility. balance and endurance. I no longer suffer from crippling muscle spasms in my lower back I've had since my mid-20s. And Ashtanga Yoga has many restorative poses that are nearly identical to physical therapy I was prescribed to treat my cervical spinal stenosis. So I do this instead and I no longer suffer from numbness and tingling in my arms. BTW, I'm over 65 years old now and can do all these poses except for the binds in Marichyasana D.

Thank you, Laruga - such a wonderful style of teaching and a lovely voice for a led class - and a wonderful pace. Just a note though, re the assistants : they could be a bit more eager...and some don't give the correct support to a student while assisting them to get deeper into a pose or into a pose...I've been an assistant, and if my teacher ever saw me standing around and not quickly moving and finding a student to give and adjustment/assistance to, I think I'd have been "fired"...

The guy in the red shirt is smart to take care of himself and modify. I love the purity of the practice although I’m going to have a bi lateral total hip replacement (both). Ballet dancer forcing extreme poses in my younger days and now yoga for the last ten years. My hips are toast. I recommend to be careful of too much repetitive force on the joints over time leads to wear and tear. We’ll see what happens. 😮

I've read that we shouldn't jump/float from forward fold to high plank because the force and momentum could injure the lower back, and that's why we should jump straight to chaturanga dandasana. But in this video, everyone is jumping to high plank, why is that so? Or is that just a myth?
@lenorayogaandmovement6037
@lenorayogaandmovement6037 6 лет назад
My gut feeling is that if you have the strength to float (so not jump or use any momentum) to lift the legs and come down, then you probably have enough core strength that it's OK. It isn't a myth, I think it's just that most people will lose the tension in their core from the force of coming down in high plank and strain their low backs.
