Led Zeppelin - I Can't Quit You Baby (Live at The Royal Albert Hall 1970) REACTION/REVIEW 

I saw Led Zeppelin do this song in concert in Kansas City in 1969. Mind blowing show.

JPJ never really liked being in the spot light so he was fine with being off to the side. JPJ was the special sauce to Led Zep. 🥰

The greatest band to ever grace the stage. To do Zeppelin right you need to start at the beginning. First song side one of Led Zeppelins debut album Led Zeppelin 1. Jimmy page produced all of the albums and he changed the way studio recordings were done. His masterful genius innovated 16 track recordings, reverse echo, reverb, added mics to amps, distortion, phasing, precision mic placement on the drums, acoustical recording studios not rooms. All of these things were never before done. So imagine hearing this first album in 1969 the overdubs the call and response, The thunderous drums and the precise instrumentation with 4 of the very best masterful musicians on the planet. Forever changed the way music was recorded, heard, and performed. Led Zeppelin influenced every band that followed and still does to this day. That's why I say start at the beginning then you will hear and feel the progression and total diversity of the band. There was literally nothing they could not do. And that becomes evident by the 3rd album. Each album unique and different. Remember we had to wait 6 month or a year before we could go buy the next led zeppelin album. So every day you played that record from begging to end. With each new song now becomes your new favorite. Until you hear the next track and your blown away again. This experience goes on throughout every album. In my opinion the anticipation, excitement and mind blowing eargasms you will have when you play full albums from start to finish the way Jimmy produced them to be heard. Give you the best understanding of just how much this band set the bar on the music screen. Timeless music that fills our soul.This journey is a long one. But after taking it you will never hear music the same. Here's my suggestion start with the first album studio versions. After that then do live recordings of tracks from that album. And repeat that throughout all their albums. By doing this you will see the masteries of the studio. Then the adlib of taking a 3 minute song into a one of a kind 30 minute live performance. Every live performance the songs changed. There shows would go from 2 hours to 3 1/2+ hours long. Literally a jam session that featured 4 members equally talented taking the music in any direction they wanted without missing a beat. When you hear Dazed and confused live specifically from 1973 MSG. You will witness the best live recording that has ever been made in the history of live performances by any band from any era. I cannot wait to follow you down this rabbit hole. I love your heart felt reactions and this journey will change your life. Every day I still after 50 years start my day with getting the Led out. This is great for me because I saw Plant two days ago in Taos NM for his tour with Alison Krauss. It was sweet. The list included a cool, rockabilly version of When the Levee Breaks and a couple other LZ tunes. The show was in itty bitty Kit Karson park, next to the man's actual grave.

This is a Willie Dixon song and they did give him full credit for this at the start ..This might be my fav blues cover song they did ..

This concert happened on Jimmy's 26th birthday. There's very little live film for Zeppelin; in chronological order, it goes Danmark, Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden, Earls Court, (Seattle but I give it an honorable mention because sound/video quality can be a bit iffy at times), Knebworth, and finally the O2. After Bonham passed, they did a few one off appearances for charity, but I don't count those. The O2 had John's son, Jason on the drums. I watched your Zeppelin journey and I'm a bit surprised that the lyrics had such an effect on you. The Beatles would be excellent as well. The Beatles were to the 60s what Zeppelin was to the 70s. While they are completely different, both bands have a lot of similarities, most notably in that both bands created music how *they* saw fit, not what the label told them to do. The Beatles elevated pop music to an art form while Zep inspired the creation of heavy metal. Both pushed musical boundaries whose effects are still felt to this day.

Too bad You Tube took down most of the live material from the Madison Square Garden concert. You can still view the song No Quarter from it. I recommend buying the concert DVD titled The Song Remains the Same.

Hi B, my man, their musical talent engulfs the stage .. prodigious performance.

Lots of people said they stole the "black man's blues " but actually they worshipped them and shined the light on the greats , paying homage to. They would even bring their favorites to Europe since it was more popular there with less racism. IMO . They rarely played a song the same twice , they liked to improvise. P.S. the band ❤️ Heart started as a Zeppelin cover band and she had the pipes to compare to Plant . They kept "The Battle for Evermore" in their live rotation, just the sisters with a acoustic and a mandolin was always great live. Also at the Kennedy Center Zeppelin was honored and a few artists covered songs as the living members watched , RIP GONZO, but Heart closed it with Amazing version of Stairway, with Bonham's son on drums, thanks Obama , well I didn't mean to Ramble On. I just saw you seen it but still, you know.

I've listened to Led Zeppelin's debut album I so many times over the last four decades that whenever I hear the closing bars of this I keep expecting that killer bass line that kicks of "How Many More Times" to start up promptly. The Beatles broke so much new ground, with new tech, new styles, the whole works. Led Zeppelin was great, but The Beatles were totally next level in terms of innovation and impact and popularity. The two biggest musical forces in the sixties were Motown and The Beatles. That is, The Beatles compare well in contrast to an entire record label rather than with this or that other band. The Rolling Stones are next, then it's a toss up between Led Zeppelin and The Who, with Jimi Hendrix right in there too.

Idk if you can do this one bc it's 20 mins long, but from this same show, How Many More Times, starts and ends with a version of the original with about 15 mins of genre skipping, medley type idk what squashed in the middle! It's fuckin fire if you ask me! ✌🏼

Well most of their songs originated in old old blues songs. Like from the '20s and 30s and 40s. So it's timeless because it's so basic. But it's still sounds incredible through the led Zeppelin filter! Peace!

zeppelin lyrics are funny like that robert does all the lyrics and even when you hear him speak in interviews its like hes speaking in puzzles 50 years later and people still dont know wtf robert is talking about

Think about how young these guys were back when they were performing here. DAMN! Robert's voice was an instrument in itself! They definitely got their inspiration from the black community and went from there. May I suggest taking some of your favorites and really listen to what he's singing about. It was a while for me to become a seasoned fan not that I wasn't on the floor with the headphones on but I was like 13, so maybe I didn't quite get it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing you with the 13 yr. old me. That's not where I'm going with this. I just don't understand how you're not getting it. Not a big deal. Peace!

I would recommend Remasters album for anyone that doesn't have it. When that came out it was like walking into Jimmy Page's vault of Zeppelin gear. When Jimmy Page goes off on Dazed at this concert you know you are watching someone playing not for the audience but for themselves. All we had before that was Denmark if you were lucky enough to know someone who caught it when they played it once on the BBC in 1989, (my m8s dad recorded it, blew me away when I saw it)or MSG. Led Zeppelin lyrics are by design, some might say mystical design, made to make you think about your reality and what exactly it is. Welcome back to the world of online approval, both you and us. Don't know what lyrics your talking about? There lyrics are relatable in many of there songs! A lot of the lyrics are deep on a lot of their songs like stairway and Kashmir! Google what the songs are about and then you'll understand them!

Many of Led Zeppelin’s tunes are there interpretations of music they heard from America especially along the Delta blues scene, everybody likes to say they ripped off other bands and even if there’s truth in it without there interest in that music form you may have never heard those songs again,just something to consider. To the RU-vidr Zeppelin had no category you can box them into they certainly did blues as well as reggae,hard rock beautiful ballads and marched to whatever they felt at any given moment.

This version is god

The studio version has some big time atmosphere and just cranked out a near note by note tribute to Otis Rush doing the same tune 13 years earlier. Willie Dixon wasn't so impressed with the idea (and a couple of other "tributes") within that first Zeppelin record. Most people who study early blues music know that there was loads of borrowing going on constantly. Didn't quite pan out at the bank the way Zeppelin did. The murky world of plagiarism lawsuits never looked back.
