Hi Rex. I'm having issues just sending my funds out of Ledger wallet. The Ledger Support is a joke. They actually gave up on me. I keep getting wronf device or passphrase even though I never set up a passphrase and only have 1 Nano S. I was actually able to send some BTC (native segwit) but not my BTC or XRP. This happened after I tried to set up a new laptop. Did that mess things up? I have wasted over 15 hours trying to fix this issue. can you help me?

A week ago my friend texted me ( hey, you've got a bunch of money on that nano wallet don't loose it ) I was concerned the firmware upgrade would wipe out my crypto ballance. Thanks Rex you saved the day. Hi Ledger, thanks for the info. but it’s too late. It would be most helpful to advise to perform this update when one is logged in as ADMINISTRATOR in the first place. I am the admin on my machine and are the only user BUT I still had to follow Rex’s (RU-vid Crypto Dad) tip to open ledger Live as Admin. And then it worked! Please give users ALL THE CORRECT ADVICE up front, it would save us all time and reduce frustration and improve Ledger’s image with customer satisfaction. Imagine this had happened to you. You did the update it didn’t work, so your funds are locked up BUT you need to move /sell some immediately (whilst waiting 2 days for Ledger to reply) in this time the market has slide, so you have lost money or been unable to complete your needs. Q would you be impressed? This is a very fast moving market, 2 days wait for a resolution is not acceptable. Even worse Is the fact that Ledger failed to provide full and precise details on how to do the upgrade in the first place. Something for you to ponder and address. Thanks Simon

Hi, first thank you for your channel your awesome!!!!!!! I wanted to double check- I have'nt opened or used my ledger nano s for a long time. I have installed the new ledger live (last used chrome extension) and it wont let me inter my stellar app in the nano s. so i thought that if i do the firmware update update it will allow me to enter the app. but i says delete all apps before update. so i am afraid to delete the app.
Hi - I have just come back for my 6 month check on how my crypto is doing and I cannot access ledger (Live) or my NEO wallet. There seems to be a problem with my Nano S but after a few hours of doing all the troubleshooting/updating drivers and wallets, I still cannot connect to even update the Nano S firmware (if that is what is required). Can you help REx? Or if not, where could I get help? I am not up-to-date with the world of IT around this now and just want to check how my (little) bit of crypto is doing.
I had ledger live on my computer but I deleted the app on my computer, now when I reinstalled the app it dosent comunicate with my ledger nano s that has version 1.5.5 I have tried to reset,reinstall bouth on my computer and on my device, but I can't make it work. If you can give me any advice I would be more than thankful. It is very stressfull because i no longer have access to my funds and it seems impossible to fix it.

Hi Crypto Dad!! I really need help. At 4.28 when it asks you to disconnect and press the button nearest the end whilst reconnecting and it says bootloader. I followed this but mine doesn't do anything!!! The nano says bootloader but ledger live stays on the disconnect USB screen. I waited and this never changed. I tried to repair but cant repair as its locked on the screen update on the nano or bootloader and stays like this! I'm terrified its crashed and I cant access my funds!! Any ideas! I have tried repair and it wont work.
Hello Rex...Nano s .....having a tough time with the ledger wallet screen. Mine has only one list and many wallets not available, including Stellar. Everyone seems to get the screen with 2 rows of wallets all available for install while in manager. ...is 1.6.0. ....any idea?....really appreciate your advice. Thank you

@@blake1069 Yes, uninstall every ledger app from your computer. Then install ledger live. Then fellow instruction to update the ledger. They will tell you there is a new version on the top of the page. I add to uninstall every app in my ledger then reset the ledger and reinstall the apps.

Hi rex, just logged into ledger live desktop, it worked earliar today I have the latest update 1.6.0 but now I can't even see my accounts uts like I have to completely add accounts. Not sure if this is right. Is there a new update for Feb 2020. Thanks
Hi, I cannot connect my Nano S to Ledger Live. Screen message says that device is detected but can’t connect. I’ve tried all the suggested remedial tricks but none work. I’ve logged a request for assistance some days ago but am still waiting to hear. Does anyone have any suggestions?
For the price they cost they should have a built in 8gb or higher micro sd card, it´s a very easy fix but they just want to milk customers to buy more items.

Hi rex maybe you can help me. I have a nano s and haven't used it in over a year. Yesterday i wanted to buy xrp again so i connected my nano s the my macbook as usual. I use ledger manager the google chrome extension. But it didn't work so i went to ledger.com and downloaded the newest ledger live. Now i tried everything but i just can't get my nano s connected to ledger live or ledger mananger. Bootmode won't help because i can't see my nano s. So i can't follow with the ledger live program steps. My MCU is 1.1 and firmware 1.3.1. I think i need to update it but withouth detection i can't update my nano s..... really need some help.... i also reset the device and used my recovery phrase and it still won't see it....
On Firmware update from 1.5.5 to 1.6 I am stuck on Bootloader have tried last 2 repair options 10 times and still get Bootloader also did Ctrl +R to reset Ledger Live and it keeps going back to Bootloader. VERY FRUSTRATING THIS SHOULD BE STRAIGHT FORWARD - BUT IT IS NOT. I have followed your instructions from video precisely. This is one of 3 ledger products I have. 2 x S and 1 X. Also have watched Rex Kneisley, looks simple by both counts, Rex's video is a little more detailed so I figured this won't take long here I am I hour plus later writing to Ledger for assistance. If it is stuck at the bootloader screen, restart the whole process but with ledger live as administrator (right click on ledger live icon, run as administrator)
Just got my ledger S from official ledger at SAS Paris to UK via DHL. Set it up and updated to firmware update. Set it up installed XRP to device, however when I try to send my coins from Coinbase. It keeps saying invalid address and won’t send them to my nano S. It’s paired and synchronised and everything, even the code from phone part in Coinbase. But when I send after pasting my nano XRP Address it says send failed not valid address .... confused 🤷♂️
Rex Kneisley I was sending nearly 195 XRP from my Coinbase wallet. Tried over 10 times and same outcome. Sending failed please enter a valid email or wallet address. A nightmare considering I just lost over 1500 XRP on a old Luno wallet due to it being linked to an old mobile number for a code. When I logged out of wallet and back in changing password via email. All my wallets had gone and back to a basic outlay. I’m not new to crypto’s as I got BTC when it was £100 and sent and received to wallets before. This nano thing has me scratching my head, especially after the recent exchange hack. Thanks for responding I’m lost as to what to do to get my private keys as I’m stocking up soon.
Rex Kneisley seems all good now mate, just sent from Coinbase without the ledger even connected and it’s showing in my ledger live app. Which confuses me as I thought the keys went onto the actual ledger itself. Now all is working time to start Kava and get earning , once again thanks for taking the time to reply. Not enough people show or understand the power of gratitude 🙏
I meshed up with my nano ledger s. It did stay forever in MCU update, so I've disconnected the cable. Now Ledger Live only tries to repair my device but it stucks agins in a screen "Repair your Ledger device".
Don't know about Unbuntu. But many people using Windows tell me that launching Ledger Live in "administrator mode" and choosing "repair Ledger" works. I'm not sure how you would do that in Unbunu. Perhaps you could try it on a Windows machine just to get the repair completed.
@@CryptoDad Yes, I tried on a windows 10 ledger live which was repearing my ledger nano s and finally updating the firmware to 1.6 seeing the results on my screen. Also I had to reinstall my apps. Thank you!
Well you can do standard troubleshooting by disconnecting and reconnecting. holding the buttons down and so forth. Sometimes you can just leave it alone powered off. And then try again later. If it remains stuck in bootloader mode you can contact ledger support. or if you are in a hurry, you can just order a new one a do a restore using your 24 word recovery phrase. sorry to hear you are having trouble with your device
Stupid question for you Rex...why is there computer chimes each time you execute a task on your Ledger? Been using Ledger and Trezor for over two years now and have yet to hear anything. Maybe my Mac is mute. See you Fri. Alohas.
My alerts are set to make a default sound when a device is attached or disconnected. Your alert sound for that seems to be disabled for whatever reason.
Wa Ba, If you created a bitcoin legacy address on your ledger device, the account scanner will always find it when you go to add new accounts. However it no longer will offer you the option of adding an empty legacy address. The only two options are “Segwit” and “Native Segwit” If you are determined to create an empty legacy address or new legacy address. You could try using the older chrome app. Not really recommended though since it’s being depreciated. support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007534774-Download-Ledger-Chrome-apps But you should be able to send from a Segwit address back to a legacy address. If that was your question
As Rex knows, I mentioned it on another video, I bricked my Nano S last night trying to update to 1.6. I got to 'bootloader', updated bootloader 100%, MCU updated 100%, then it just locked up. Nano screen says 'update' but it never went past that for 30 mins. Going into 'repair', i get: 'exception: invalid status 6984'. I have tried just about everything I have found online to fix it, so far, no luck. Sent support request to Ledger. Just a heads up to anyone else attempting the update. I will report back if I figure anything out.
Dave D., yes there are risks involved when you run these updates. I’m sorry this happened to you. Thanks for letting everyone else know. It can be a real hassle if this happens, but rest assured if you have your 20forward recovery phrase you won’t lose any of your crypto. If you’re in a bind order a new one right away and do a restore. And then deal with ledger on replacing the defective one. If you can afford to wait, then just deal with ledger and get a replacement.
@@CryptoDad I have the phrase, but it's still a little terrifying that for some reason it doesn't recover and everything is GONE! Hopefully Ledger gets back to me (says could take 2 or 3 days) and we can figure out what went wrong.
It's really really nerve wrecking that they want you to remove your apps or whatever... Sure maybe my funds won't be lost. But who says they will be save? No insurance. Just wishful thinking, I think it's really really mirky to understand how the Ledger works tbh.
It is not wishful thinking, its mathematics. You can remove and reinstall apps at will. Your wallets will not be lost or destroyed. If your device is lost or damaged, you can restore using your 24 word recovery phrase. keep it in a safe place.
