I don’t know why but “Breathe” is the only song where I burst out crying out of nowhere even when I was in a happy mood before listening to it.

Lee Hi's version is like telling us that we are all suffering but together, we can fight this. Sohyang's version is telling us that she already experienced this and is encouraging us that we can do it too. This version is like hugging us tightly; never letting us go. Afraid of us slipping away from their arms.

When Lee Hi sings this song, it is as if her voice was restricted to come out, as if she's having trouble with breathing which fits the message of the song, makes it really meaningful. He made it different though. His strong voice is like what the lyrics wants you to do, take a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh. Great job.

The emotions really strike you and make you remember all of the sad memories and difficult challenges in your life and thinking how thankful you are that you really overcame and surpassed it. By far, the best cover of Breathe. He started soft, gradually increasing emotion until bridge, then exploded everything in the climax, and finally silencing everything at the end. It was equivalent to watching a musical in a theater. I hope he does not make same mistakes again in the future and prosper with his musical career.

This is one of the most powerful covers I have ever listened to. It’s a completely different take from Lee Hi’s, but still conveys the same message. I couldn’t help but cry when I first listened to this, and everyday after I first found this, I’ve listened to it at least once. I’ve fallen in love with his voice.

Because his voice is so deep it really give a completely different depth to the song. I lost it when he started singing loudly. It reminds me of everyone who is emotionally hurt but they can’t find comfort from others so they find it within themselves. Even if you tell people your story, they can’t understand it fully unless they can feel what you’re feeling. But we all know that no one can understand our stories better than ourselves. Maybe that’s why we all seek comfort within ourselves. Until we can’t hold it in or handle it anymore because so many emotions build up. That’s when we break down. There are many people who don’t want to admit to their emotions. When they do however, they get scared and run away because it’s too hard and too much for them to handle. That’s why those that run away from their emotions are able to endure and hold out longer than those who admit to it. Because admitting to our emotion is they same thing as losing because it’s so painful. It brings out the pain that we tried so hard to hide. We can’t face our emotions because we’re scared that it may be too hard or maybe even more than we can handle. Breathe is a song that Jonghyun wrote not only to comfort those who are going through a tough time but it was also written to comfort himself. He did what no one else could do for him. He did it for himself. But I think the emotions that he was going through and fighting against was much more harder than we could even imagine. That’s why I thank him for writing this song. Because of this song, I’m sure many people who are going through something so unexplainable, painful, difficult, or hard, are comforted when they listen to this song.

The original version to me is quietly comforting like 'everything sucks right now but I'm going to take a deep breath & keep going" and this version is so raw & desperate like 'I'm at the end of my rope & I'm trying so hard to hang on'. They are both amazing & beautiful & bring me to tears & I love them both.
