It seems that hooks are very effective vs straight punches are more powerful. Basically, effectiveness vs power. 🤔

I agree, the left hook is the best KO punch. The straight right is a good set up for the hook.

For me personally a left hook is the best because I’m left and right handed.

@@ThePitOnlineDojo Since you said that a lead hook is better, then why not doing a video about leading with your dominant hand. I know that there are some people who are good doing this, maybe it can be helpful to some people

@Manny Pacquiao The idea is not that stupid. If you are talking about pure boxing then it would be right for 99% of people, but there are MMA fighters who are good leading with their dominant side. The thing is that you would have to fight differently, however i'm not sure how it would be 🤔

What’s the difference between a right cross and a right overhand?

Right cross goes straight down the middle, an overhand is an arcing Punch like you are pitching a ball

Consider a brick. Make a hole in its centre such that your fist can pass through. Now place it right in front of your face imagining it’s your opponents face. If your are able to punch right through it without hurting your hand, then it’s a right cross. Else it’s a straight right In easier terms a right punch with elbow angle almost perfectly straight (180 degree) is called a cross. Any right with a bent in the elbow is called a straight right also known as a right hook with a horizontal fist

If you want to get technical, I think if you're throwing the rear hand, the rear reverse punch would be the best

Then y r there much much more straight right / overhand right knockouts than left hook knockout in mma?? Straight right is usually a right hook (elbow is bent). You guys r talking about a right cross, which is different from a straight right Rear hand straight is always a better bet. Else everyone could have stood with their strong side in front such as JKD and relied on their lead hook mostly
