My favorite detail of this thing is that the dragon claws integrate into the chest. It's an incredibly nice little touch of engineering.

C'mon. Transmetal Rattrap. His little dragster-rat mode is fun and funny. And now I realize they NEED to do a modern Transmetal Rattrap with that mode that Kingdom Dinobot can actually ride!

It's so awesome for them to bring back the nostalgia. Reminds me of the little 8 year old me when I used to say, "I want that guy" and I'm 32 years old. I know I can get them off of eBay easily, but I'm waiting for Silver Bolt and the first Transmetal Cheator to come out on display. Those two were and are my favorite characters and figures

Never being super into transformers but being given transformers toys leads to the weirdest memories. Like I remember having this Megatron but it was blue.

I really hope this actually gets stocked at my Walmart. Beast Wars Megatron is an absolute treat and I'll be devastated if I miss out on yet another absolute banger of a figure just because of terrible distribution.

I'm still hoping they do a transmetal 1 Megatron along with other transmetals

Funfact, that flame effect is the same one from i think the leader class megatron from the last knight, you got two and could put them in the engines of the jetmode or one into his flamethrower/ arm cannon

I think the only nitpick I have for the dragon mode is how strange the base of the neck looks. But my god he's beautiful and I badly hope for a new Optimal Optimus (especially given how much it probably goes for now).

Love the dragon mode. Could we get this in purple for a Metroid collaboration?

Beast Wars and Beast Machines were my childhood. I always wanted the original Transmetal 2 Megatron as a kid, but never did. I pretty much quit collecting Transformers, but I might consider buying this.

I think Emgo should have a bit for faux-forming, like if there's a fake chest part hidden under a car mode or on the back, he would go "visible chest SYNDROME!" or something like that

I felt for to long Transformers has SERIOUSLY been lagging behind with transforming toys, but the use of a special effect part as well as a series of ball joints in the neck makes me feel like they're FINALLY getting caught up! Also, due to how he transforms, he puppeteers the dragon head with his robot hand and it's the greatest thing ever.

I hope to have mine by Christmas by far my favorite Megatron. It's one of those beast modes that is better than a robot mode lol.

A remarkable figure, one i had to get myself, but a word of advice upon receiving it; double check the assembly of ol Megs. I'm not as well versed in what I read about the wings "technically" being assembled wrong myself, but I had heard something about them being reversed or something, I will say for certain however to double check your figure's right arm. If you look at the bicep section that connects to the elbow joint and shoulder, the upper section that kinda curves with shoulder (right above the bicep hole used for transformation) was reversed (the curve was inwards) on mine and made it near impossible to actually transform the right arm for dragon mode. I thought at first it was just how the figure went together but was worried about the tightness of trying to transform to dragon mode. So I decided to disassemble the shoulder, flipped that section around so the curved part was outward (to look like emgo's figure at points like 1:22), and everything transforms much more smoothly now.

Looks like Emgo’s gonna have to learn how to train his dragon

4:40 kinda random how this Megatron figure displays his wings better than SH Monsterarts Destoroyah.

Never liked the “vehicle mode” on the og toy. But did like Transmetal Tarantulus’ bike mode. Still want to get this toy.

okay, megatron's dragon mode is pretty freaking badass

Looks cool. Rat trap’s vehicle mode was ok. How could you not love Optimus Primal’s hoverboard? It was awesome!

Poor Megs. If he didn't skip his 1st transmetal form he wouldn't have to deal with the 2nd head issue. And he would have a cool tail weapon with a wicked pincer claw on the end. Oh and don't forget the rad roller blade action too!

Also the bit at the end, made me think of the "how to speak Italian" meme.

This was basically Megatron in Beast Wars before he decided he was SKYNET in Beast Machines.

the only Transmetal "vehicle" mode I ever liked was Transmetal Megatron because who doesn't love a rocket-powered T Rex

I was gonna save up for the Perfect Effect dragon Megatron so I could get the awesome swords in his wings, but this guy has changed that ambition.

Emgo's reviewing another dragonformer? Yessss. While I'm not a Beast Wars fan due to not watching the show much, I'm impressed by how Megatron looks good in both modes while rocking the color red. Since the Year of the Dragon is in 2024, I imagine that folks who celebrate Lunar New Year would want a red robotic dragon in their lineups by then. I'm almost tempted to want one myself. I only wish that he'd be taller, though.

Great review 👏🏻 The claw on the hinge of the wings is misassemble. Both should point inward not outward like the original toy and animation. Can be fix with a screwdriver 🪛

i finished watching all of beast wars for the first time recently and it makes me want this figure now

This review just makes me want the Perfect Effect version. For this one specifically though, it's okay for what it is. There are some proportion issues, and I hate the bottom of the neck in dragon mode and the giant backpack in robot mode. If Hasbro had just used the transformation scheme from the original TM2 figure, it would have turned out better.

I'm most definitely getting this sexy beast. Though the only thing I'm liking is the head sculpt, and the left hand. Hopefully DNA Design can make an upgrade kit for this toy.

I am definitely getting this figure when ti comes out. My only two complaints are the yellow section at the base of the neck in dragon mode (a legitimate complaint) and that the dragon tail isn't long enough (personal preference). Aside from that, this figure looks amazing!

I never liked the TM2 Megs vehicle mode but I did like the regular Transmetal figure vehicle modes. Especially Megatron and Rattrap’s!

Perfect Effect TM Megs is glorious. I managed to finally snag one for a reasonable price on ebay, but mine was missing his dragon arms, so he turns into a wyvern instead of a true dragon 😭

I truly hope that the misprint on the box regarding the Predacon symbol, means that well get prime universe predacons.

This seems to have the beat transformation out of all the dragon megatron. The perfect effect one kind of was a pain to transform.

Transmetal 2 is basically beast wars Galvatron, except he's not controlled by Unicron.

the face is definitely off from what megaron's face should look like and where the dragon neck connects to the body in dragon mode is also odd, but otherwise it's not a bad update of the original toy I had as a kid from what i'm seeing. Looking forward to it coming out next year

The hasbro designers must be so proud they finally made a big leader. That would explain the unnecessary use of ratchets everywhere, not that I am against the toy!

After finally getting this figure and on my birthday yesterday I can confirm and I have no paint chipping and it is a big boy I mean SS The fallen big and his dragon mode is even bigger.

I wonder if they are going to remold this into his Beast Machines form. They could completely redo the wings to be the cloak and add in the control harness assembly. Thusfar they haven't done anything Beast Machines, which is unfortunate.
