I was around 9 ish in 2010. Totally should’ve gotten a 2010 megazord while they were in stores when I had the chance,

Just ordered the 2015 version (which apparently comes with all the stickers already applied, from what I have heard) and I am excited. I never got to own the original (my Power Rangers Christmas was Season 2 when they actually had everything and I got all the rangers and the Thunder Megazord) so this is a nice reclaiming of my childhood. I already have the legacy figures on display but now I'll have the original Megazord. It makes me smile but also a touch sad, as my mom was the one that got me the Thunder Megazord and with her having passed away a year ago this will be a bittersweet memory of the work she put in to get me that Megazord.

Two things I have to point out that you missed: 1) The head of the pterodactyl is die cast. 2) There's actually two holes and tabs on the pterodactyl body. Use these to attach to the mastadon feet during tank mode. It requires a little bit of force, but it fits snugly.

1993 version is a real treasure now. Too expensive and extremely hard to find a new one.

hey, great review. i never had the original, ive been a fan since i was 5! i got the 2010 release which even though its cheaply made i love it, the stickers sadly are coming off because of how it packaged. you mentioned the grey head of the mastodon, well yes the 2010 release is a black head, but interestingly the 1993 release was grey, atleast the pictures ive seen, also i am watching MMPR right now and when the zords go in to tank mode, the head is grey.

The Mastodon's head in both MMPR and Zyuranger were in the gun metal gray. Are you gonna be getting the Reprolabels sets for the original Dino Megazord?

In tank mode the pterodactyl had two little protruding tabs to allow it to stick into the mastodon feet in the original model. I think they were slightly longer than current ones.

Is this a compatable with Zord Builder like the 2010 version?

So, with the Legacy Dragonzord now on the way to release, which is described as being compatible with the Legacy Megazord, I find myself wondering if it'll be compatible with the 2010 Dino Megazord. You've said they're the same mold, I assume the connectors are the same? Like, can you theoretically connect 2010 Zord limbs to the Legacy T-Rex? If so, Suh-WEET, 'cause I don't want to hunt down a Legacy Megazord just to display a fully-formed Dragonzord In Battle Mode.

I painted the missing details on the 2010 version. I was very disappointed that the Legacy version didn't fix the hollow spots on the back of the Mastodon legs and didn't see it as worth the mark-up. Still a great mold beyond that one detail and Triceratops's tail.

Didn't the original Megazord/Daizyujin toy have little tabs on the Pterodactyl to secure it to the back in tank mode?

Legacy Dragonzord is coming out in 2014, they announced it at ComicCon a few days ago. We're also getting the Legacy Dragon Dagger and a 2 foot tall Megazord that can transform into "tank Mode."

When did you buy this and is it still in stores??

i am 22 years old and i finally got it after all these years i finally have the very first megazord i love this one and i just got it today and i love it i mean i would of loved to have the very very first one to come out when i was little but i am glad i waited this was well worth it

hey Dosm not sure you go for this or not but given the aspects of the zord builder the mastodon can probably combine with the mystic titan phoenix and sprite along with the bison I been doing many possible aspects of the zord builder and I used two dino charge zords the T-Rex and Ptera zord I took off the head and tail of the T-Rex and the wing arms of the Ptera then I combined them into looking similar to the Q-Rex combine form with the Megazord which turned out great

In America mighty morphin was the first show but in japan there are even older power rangers. Nice review

I had some trouble with the pink ranger zord in tank mode also, but I found you can use the little nubs clip it between the feet and it stays very sturdy. Tank mode is my favorite mode, I just put the power sword down his back between the feet so I don't have it loose.

No, but it can combine with the Shinken-oh. Well the english version but if I didn't say Shinken-oh the inside joke wouldn't make sense.

I hope they get around to making a Legacy Dragonzord for this thing. I heard rumors that they were planning to make one for the 2010 reboot, but canceled it because the 2010 series wasn't well received as they would have liked it to.

Can the Legacy Megazord combine with the 1993 Dragonzord? Or would I have to buy the 1993 version of the Megazord in order to combine it with my 1993 Dragonzord?

Nobody has noted that the pterodactyls head is made of metal. i was pretty surprised when i pulled mines out.

so we have a "legacy" rerelease of the morpher and a "legacy" rererelease of the megazord so does that mean we'll finally get a rerelease of the dragon zord?

I'm surprised you don't how to properly attach pterodactyl in tank mode. That's kind of sad considering how many versions of this mecha we have, and how long it has been around.

Only issue I have is the mastadon head color and the fact the the tyrano's legs dont go into the sabertooth and triceratops like the original.

I have the legacy and soul of chogokin dino megazord. I always wanted the original dino megazord when I was a kid, but better late than never.

Yeah but I don't like a few things about the 2010 version, most notably the pegs coming out of the tyranozord's knees and the fact that the wheels on the Tricerotops and Sabertooth have been removed. I'm not really asking for a total recreation of the 93 version just one that looks a little better than the 2010 one.

i "had" the original. we found it at a yard sale. missing the mammoth head sword and wings. the only thing i dont like about this one, which i just got, are how it connects to the legs. i liked the way the original did it. and would have also liked the head to have stayed black.

I'm glad I saw this review. I'm not impressed, cause I thought the whole thing or at least 90% of it would be diecast. I got the original 1993 Megazord and the the 2 original zords, all in the boxes and in mint unplayed condition. Now the Legacy Power Morpher is all diecast and better of the 2 to buy.

I would have loved this a lot more if the stickers had been molded in like the other Legacy toys, if the legs were a bit fatter, and the wheels were actual wheels. Oh yea, and you could push the Tyranno's knees into the legs. So, basically, 90% of my problems with the toy are with the Saber-toothed Tiger and Triceratops toys.

I think this model is the best looking MEGAZORD. The tank mode and individual dinozords I still think have much to be desired. My opinion. Original is best for that reason.

I feel they should have made a new mold closer to the 1993 version instead of using the crappy 2010 one. Using the 2010 mold feels to me like an insult.
