Don't let the chat that says there's only 6 Fire King cards in the so called Fire King deck. There's also 3 Fire King spells, putting up the number of FK cards to 9. Meanwhile, there's 11 total Diabellstar/Snake-Eye cards, only 2 more. The truth about the deck is that it plays a fuckton of handtraps (14 total, more than either engine individually).
Its not even 11. its 7. diabell and wanted arent snake eyes spells. And dont miss on the fire king xyz and that not everyone is only playing 1 island. So there is more fk than snake eyes indeed
@Kamurai135 everyone is gonna do the branded thing where they count diabellestar and snake eyes as one thing like they did branded and despia even though it's not technically correct.
Nice note for the new VV continuous spell: Since it RITUAL summons (instead of special summons like new Sauravis), it allows you to actually resolve Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon's effects, which is a much smoother way to get Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon (thanks for the correction @xibbas7055) out. Assuming you end on the "optimal" VV board (Skull Guardian, Lo, new Sauravis) it puts up a much stronger resistance than it currently does pre-LEDE
The new Link monsters(and Cyanos) make it much easier to play an actual Snake-Eyes variant. The problem is some of the new options are promo cards so not everyone's going to go out of their way to get them.
I think the main reason to play delta y to stop cross and called by when you maxx c, i mean its good to negate power spells but what makes it great is the maxx c mini game
Typical TCG mindset blaming everything to Maxx C Then why the card don't see any play before? It has nothing to do with Maxx C, and more about the top two deck has spell cards (Original Sinful Spoils Snake Eye and VV continuous spell/ritual searcher) as chokepoint.

Even Joshua himself (a TCG player, and also a world champion in a Maxx C format) doesn't think it's mainly for Maxx C mini game. You can argue about Gamma, which is historically used for Maxx C mini game (as it counters Maxx C and Ash), but not for Delta.
Strikes appear to be an efficient going first option. Previously, people got anti spell as the going first option . However, anti spell seems too fragile and not able to hold up opponents’s combo( especially against snake eye package). Therefore, Strikes has gained popularity as it’s a generic hard stop negation.
Still better at going second but having an ACTUAL going first line that can play through Duster and LS due to newer Link options that can do multiple things is a BIG help.
lotus is really nice. issue is the same as always, crimsons lock + dies to handtraps. I think maybe a horus engine or smth else will help . Bystials nice but unplayable right now.
@@OsirusHandle Yes, RDA naturally dies to HT like Nib. I carry triple crossout. I also play Bystials in my locals, but it's a hit or miss cause not all play Light or Dark monsters here. Wonder when the Lotus King arrives in TCG.

Chimera isn't a branded angle at all, somewhat of a shame for Josh to have missed that because it's by far the deck that gets changed the most by LEDE. Nightmare Apprentice + Diabellz are huge additions to the deck that completely alter the way it's being built.
It doesn't really do anything to change it in the ocg meta though. It may have an impact in the tcg. I am fully expecting Infinite forbidden to introduce more illusion monsters in the snake eye lore that bring out the true potential of diabellze and apprentice while possibly giving chimera a boost.
Its wild to me that this is locals data mostly. And like smaller events. Like even having this many people afford the best decks in the game would be crazy in the TCG. Most locals I go to no one has the tier 1 stuff because its like 500-1000 dollars.
Theres one guy in locals playing 60cards volcanics/fireking/horus/snakeeyes/sinfulspoil/fireprincess/splittleknight/all full statlights pile deck. And he is winning. But his deck also costs like 5k. Shit is so unfair he just wins in time everygame because its 15minutes on the clock and he combos for no reason 12minutes and burns and thrn passes. Even if I have the winning hand there is no way for me to get into pb with all the mandatory Fireking effects in standby phase and quick effects . Like i dont have a problem winning in time with time cards. But this is beyond. Going into game 3 with 5min on the clock. This is straight up abuse. And everyone else is on more cheap decks

Makes sense. Looking at last year, Photon Hypernova (the first core set of the year) made Kashtira T1 and far more consistent, and released some generic cards that saw more play and value later on in the year. Cyberstorm Access changed the meta a bit, though Konami did basically kill SHS viability in the meta. More generic cards released, but these didn't see as much of a relevancy until a bit later into the year as well. I think the way the sets work, the cores bring some power to a deck or two initially, but other cards eventually get explored, and they start seeing more value spikes over time.
Something I was curious about, since I keep up with the meta currently and enjoy watching content around it but am not playing games by myself or watching alot of games: What do you think where the powerlevel of Fire King Rescue Ace would be in comparison to full power Tearlament or Spright? Or lets say, maybe with some consistency hits to both decks but nothing major banned like Elf, Kit, etc.
Ishizu Tearlament won no banlist tournament with only adding one or two banned card (because they want to play on turn zero and not a single banned main deck card help that strategy) That's your answer for Tearlament. For Spright it's a hard to gauge, as Snake Eye Fire King can sometimes go through three interruption and also have 14 handtraps. But Spright probably stronger because Elf is stupid and they don't care about Nibiru.

Its OCG they play whatever is popular more than being just good. Because everyone can afford the most expensive deck theres a lot more representation for meta sometimes (or waifu decks) and no one over there is cooking for offmeta and rogue decks because there is no reason to play them unless youre a fan
The bystials are just better. D link is predominantly dark with a few lights. Even in the ocg bystials would probably still be better since they have chaos space at 3
Been testing with Tenpai and have been having a surprisingly decent amount of success. The deck has like 3 1-card combos that get you to either of the Level 10 Synchros and has a TON of room to play non-engine, I’m talking like 20+ slots. Unfortunately there are a ridiculously low amount of FIRE Dragons in the game, so there’s not a whole lot of tech options to explore for the deck, but you could theoretically play a small engine of like 3x White Dragon 1x Orange Dragon 1x Tenpai Quickplay (I can’t remember any of the card names off the top of my head lol) in a deck that doesn’t need or have a normal summon. The list I’ve been testing has been the full suite of the Tenpai cards, 3x Ash, 3x Droll, 3x Imperm, 2x Nib, 3x Crossout, 2x Tactics and 3x Prosperity (3 is a lot but you can pretty much always OTK through it and you have ways to pitch the extra copies if you open them), and a couple other cards I can’t remember.
I think its important to note ocg is plagued with maxx c so the game is different than tcg so many decks could be heavily hurt by the cancer that would otherwise have been good against this format. However this is of course speculation

Legacy of Destruction is gonna play out like DUNE. Its got lots of support for Valient Smashers in an attempt to make that deck build pack not unplayable but overall is it not gonna shake up the meta a ton.
DUNE did shake up the meta though. For a hot minute Unchained became the best deck in the format and Infernoble started topping immediately after release
I'd agree with that to a point. I think unchained and Infernoble also benefited from a level of unpreparedness among the player base. Maybe a better way of saying it would have been that DUNE didn't create a tier 0 meta or a clearly best deck in the format but it elevated lots of good decks to greatness. Unchained and Infernoble were great but so was R-ACE, Kashtira, Floo and Purrely. I think for the PHNI format, we are gonna be seeing a lot of Fire King / Snake-Eye and I don't think LEDE is gonna necessary stop that.
@@toadallyaverageLEDE definitely won't do much to change the meta, but it is really lacking in support that was intended to make decks competitive. For example, goblin riders got screwed over and ancient gear and melodious got support but are not decks that are intended to be really goof
Dogmatika gives Voiceless voice some life... and added power-ceiling. Alba Zoa, Relic of Dogmatika, and Skull Guardian all giving you a line to OTK with... Not to mention you would have access to Ultimate Slayer and Dogmatikamatrix which are both great going second cards.. The Dogmatika package can easily bridge you over to Voiceless Voice through Heralds.
It’s my build rn cuz im playing Dogma ritual branded bystial,wanna change to VVdogma.Doesnt need Diviner,this build weaker vs droll but can play through ash,belle,veiler,ii and set up,OTK easier.Im thinking about Branded VV if alot of pp side d-barrier
I love how the Fire King engine is barely even hittable. What do you do, Kirin to 1? The Snake Eye engine has to go, but It hasnt even been touched in the OCG, it will be a long time before they touch it in TCG
the FK stuff don't really need to be touched; it's the Snake-Eye stuff doing the hard carrying. FK is there to add an extra layer of disruption after your Snake-Eye stuff does all the hard work of baiting, setting up, etc. As for Snake-eye, I think we'll see a ban on Original. As for when, I don't really know, probably after Nats.
In terms fire King's position, he is not wrong. Even if he were to be incorrect about the fire king deck using diabellze, it would just help become more dominant. There was just no support given that would introduce anything new in terms of the decks in the top position
They just make fire king possibly the new best deck now when it was just good before, along with VV. Nothing major but at least some changes in the format. LEDE really did almost nothing since there was nothing new introduced that could compete right out of the set and goblin bikers didn't get anything that make them more competitive in the ocg. Basically means that it will be the same for the tcg when they get it
