Thanks for the pool table videos. Your instructions were very helpful. Would highly recommend anyone needing to reassemble their pool table to watch these videos.
Even though I have a Legacy pool table I checked quite a few videos before the assembly and this series is the best I've seen. Make sure to pull very tightly the felt as this is one of the key.
He makes it look so easy! It’s really not. I suppose if you can wrap Christmas gifts perfectly. You can do this fairly well. I cannot so I’ll have to hire someone for this. Or the wife will be like. “ shouldn’t we have had it done professionally?!” Sometimes saving.a few hundred dollars, really isn’t saving a few hundred dollars.
Excellent video!! I really like the way you explained why you did things a certain way, very thorough and easy to understand and you made sure whatever you were doing could be seen by the camera.
Oscar winning performance, I've watched just about all the videos here on RU-vid, because it's been 15 years since I did my recovering the last time. I'll probably watch it again before jumping in. Waiting on my new materials from Ebay. And Chris get "best supporting" actor/helper. Thanks very much, I'm also re-rubbering rails, wish you had one for that procedure
Well done video, thanks. One of the things I am obsessing over is rail squareness. You mentioned when placing the spot the distance is 44”. I discovered that this is not consistent across the length of my table nor the width. Some of what causes this irregularity on the width is the adjustment of the side rails to make them flush. You don’t seemed to be concerned or check for squareness of the rails to ensure a rectangle and not a trapezoid. Am I being overly concerned about these measurements?
Excellent video. Best so far. I was wondering why you didn't put strips of cloth on the inside of the pockets? My old covering has these and I have seen this on other videos.
Why is a pool table installed in this small room? You can easily tell there is not enough space for cue action when the white stops near the bottom cushion.
Hello great video , But I did not see you put a square on the corners , I have been trying to square up the corners but Im off a 1/8' or so where do I go from there ? Thanks
Hello, typically, when the rails are pressed in on both corners, the factory slate holes create the alignment. If you are having trouble as you describe, loosen all the rails bolts and use a square as you mentioned. Once the adjustment is square, hold the rails in place and tighten the rail bolts starting with the bolts closest to the corner pockets. Again, most rails tighten square when equally pressed inward and held until the bolts are tightened. Good luck. i hope this works for you.
Thanks I will give it another shot , I was off an 1/8" no one would know but me but I keep trying to get it right , Thanks for the input maybe I'll get this time haha
You should use cloth between your mallet and cloth .. you learn this when the rubber makes a tiny scuff mark and the designer pops a lid . :-) No disrespect intended , every true designer has a lid lol. Those rubber marks don't come off of a bright orange cloth . I used the cloth separator from that day forward .
Good suggestion. I used a hard rubber hammer that did not leave marks on the cloth. I have used other hammers and they did leave marks as you said. Good practice to use cloth in case. Thanks
Not a bad video series. But there are a number of areas that your installation could be made better based on my 25 years of experience as a billiard mechanic. If you email me I can fine tune your operation.
Q: Am an unfortunate Legacy Billiards pool table owner - came with the house. I am having to replace all the pockets because one has worn out completely (2 times) due to normal use but poor quality materials (naugahyde not real leather). I found some genuine leather replacements online that are #6 iron - but need to determine if these pockets will fit my table. In your experience, will they or how can I verify this info? I have contacted Legacy Billiards several times & they are the ones who sent me the cheap replacements - the other 5 pockets are also naugahyde but have held up without any similar wear & tear. We had a beautiful Olhausen table before - this is crazy. Thx
"Make sure the basket is opened up, so they can recieve the balls very easily" XD I thought this was a tutorial on how to assemble a pool table, Not how to do sex!
