Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Boss: Ancient Automaton Koloktos [HD] 

He sits around waiting for you to make an entrance just so he can tell you he's too busy to fight you. Villain logic.

Koloktos: The only Zelda boss smart enough to protect his weak point.

i think its kinda cool how the first game in the timeline still has "ancient" things

I swear, this menacing zoom-sound Koloktos does whenever he's about to attack. It does so much for the vibe of this fight. And the music. URGH

Practically everything about the Ancient Cistern is based on Buddhist mythology. The statues of Buddha throughout the level, the climbing of the spider's thread out of the hellish basement level (representing the short story "The Spider's Thread) and Koloktos is based on the Asura (Lower ranking deities with three heads with three faces and six arms who have become corrupted by the evils of the world including envy, wrath, lies, vanity and aggression)

How it moves and the sound it makes before attacking are so memorable

There is hardly a thing in video games as satisfying as killing a boss with their own weapon ^^

The whole ancient cistern dungeon, in my opinion, is one of the best developed dungeons of the recent zelda games. From the new tool you get all the way down to the design (and of course the boss fight) were all very well done and super enjoyable

Smashing him with that big sword is so damn satisfying.

I think it's safe to say Koloktos is a fan favorite in the Zelda series! Good job Koloktos, you made a name for yourself despite only being a regular boss!

Let's face it. That moment at 4:00 was the part where Skyward Sword bosses stopped being great and turned downright epic.

My theory about the child laugh Koloktos make is that Ghirahim somehow trapped a soul in the armor of Koloktos and the soul was the energy to power up Koloktos and after Koloktos is defeated, the soul is released from its prison and laughs at Link as a sign of gratitude for being free from Ghirahim's grasps.

Just killing a boss with its own weapon makes it ten times more fun. Like the tennis matches with Phantom Ganon or chopping Koloktos's legs off with its giant blade and then slicing open its metaphorical ribcage and proceeding to slash its heart repeatedly. Good fun, that is.

Y'know, I already knew Link was a badass from playing Twilight Princess but this game really really proved it. He sees a gigantic multi-limbed weapon wielding automaton and just draws his own sword in response. And I always knew Link was strong but good lord how strong IS he? He lifted that huge ass broadsword like it was nothing.

Dat creepy child-like laugh at the end.

My thought process with this boss: Beat his first phase: ok so one more time and its dead I guess... Puts hands on the ground: wait what? Pulls itself out: what Cages its weakspot: WHAT?! Pulls out 6 massive blades: WHAT THE FUCK?!

4:00 "oh my god, HE HAS A SWORD!!" "You IDIOT! We ALL HAVE SWORDS!!"

Not a huge fan of Skyward Sword, compared to the other games in the Zelda series, but this is one of the best bosses in the entire series.

Taking an ennemy's weapon,a fucking giant sword,just to proceed to open his ribcage and destroy him with repeated assaults of epic slashes. MOST SATISFYING BATTLE EVER!!

For those who don’t know the laughs in its death scene are actually in the Splatoon 1 game if you recon the map when it’s dark out and if you stand in the center of the map on the spinning thing you may be able to hear yeh statues laughing in response with each other

The music always gives me chills and this boss fight is so satisfying. More so than in my favorite title of the series, even. The ancient, Buddhist inspired imagery works so well with the aura this thing puts off. It’s awesome in every sense of the word... plus beating it up with its own weapons after ripping its arms off is so darn cool. I wish Nintendo could hit gold like this with all of their bosses!

Plot twist: Koloktos was a seven year old girl this whole time

Koloktos has by far most favorite zelda boss theme. Even though it's Larsa the tomb raider all over again, I still love this boss fight. It's really intimidating.

this was my favorite boss of the game, i turned the volume up and went all out with the motion controls, SO SATISFYING USING THOSE HUGE SWORDS

For a game that had so many bad bosses( at least in my opinion) it ironically has one of the BEST Zelda bosses of all time. Koloktos is just an epic fight, especially when he tears himself out of the ground. When I saw that the first time it blew my mind O.O

i love using the enemies weapons to my advantage, it makes me feel like i'm the boss and they are the player. Lol XD

This boss along with Stallord and Ganondorf from TP are without a doubt some of the best bosses in the entire Zelda series

It had been a long time since a Zelda boss fight got this intense when I played this game. I hadn't felt the rush of almost dying on a boss fight in years. I love this game.

The first stage is literally the same thing as Gooper Blooper's fight from Super Mario Sunshine.

The laughter that thing makes reminds me of the laughter the Inkling Statues in Splatoon have done during Splatfest.

I like how this guy calmly back flips to avoid the axes in this fight, while I panicked and ran in circles just to get killed like a noob ._.

and get this, he actually has enough sense, TO KEEP HIS DANG WEAK SPOT COVERED!!!!

Hey, I realized something! This boss is just like the rest of the temple: it as buddhist/indian look of the surface (the armor) will it also have that weird creepy side that's underneath the cistern (the purple/black stuff that attach the limbs and that laugh at the end). Also, something tell me it as the same purpose as Gohdan in Wind Waker, put there by the gods to protect something (the Farore Flame). But unlike Gohdan, Koloktos is boosted by Ghirahim magic. One part by the gods, one part by the demons. The beautiful side and the creepy side of the ancient cistern. And yes, I know that the temple is inspired by a buddhist legend. that would also means that the rivers of poison in the undergroudn of the cistern are actually rivers of BLOOD. I'm not kidding, look up TV Tropes.

This battle was a huge shout out to all the Wind Waker fans. Liftable swords, a room taken straight from The Tower of the Gods, breakable pillars, and an ancient-robot boss just like in that dungeon. Damn I flashbacked so hard when he started smashing pillars and dropping swords.

There's nothing more cathartic than tearing into the heart of a giant boss with its own huge swords. It just feels so *AWESOME.*

4:00, the best part. The music gets more louder, more epic. And you get to pick up the big ass swords and just fucking slam them into Koloktos. This boss fight always gets me hyped every single playthrough.

If Koloktos has legs, a grate to cover its core, and six GIANT swords, why didn't it use them from the start? Also, that laugh. **shudders**

Can we also just say how great of a villain Ghirahim is? His dialogue makes me think of a flamboyant hairdresser who woke up one morning and chose violence

That music for the Klocktos fight is some of the best in any Zelda game. I love getting to use that giant scimitar in the fight as well. Plus you close out with upgrading the Goddess Sword to it's best look. I always like to call it the Courage Sword after that. Plus I liked this Link enough that I tracked down his amiibo so I could get his outfit for Breath of the Wild.

I love the hell outta this fight mainly because the boss is just awesome and so fun to fight and the fucking music just makes the perfect atmosphere for the fight!

You know those bosses as kids you thought were SUPER scary but then when you got older they weren't? ...Well THIS, is not one of them. This boss will always be terrifying, no matter what age you are. Specially the way it.. smiles and giggles, at the end. *shudder*

I’ve always loved expressions like Koloktos’ on masks, statues or other figures. It’s like they are constantly amazed, representing humanity’s curiosity and wonder about the world.

Theory: Splatoon and Legend of Zelda universe is connected. Since most of you come from the splatoon statue. Once Koloktos have been defeated, and after humans were extinct, and come along the Inklings, Koloktos became just some rusty metal. The Inklings found the ancient Koloktos just to restore him to become a statue. Koloktos's spirit were still in there, so that's how it laughs.

Definitely one of my favorite bosses ever. Man I hope they make a Skyward Sword remake for switch!

There is something more to this boss death, that I can't figure out. First the twitching, then the "laughing child" sound, then the metal mask transforming into a happier face before finally slamming to the ground in its original form.

This is probably my favorite boss in the Zelda series. It was just so unique and versatile. I love how creepy it was too. The child's laughter at the end was super chilling.

Fun fact: after you rip off the two arms he slams on the ground, you don’t actually have to rip off the arms guarding his weak point, you can run up and stab the weak point during the attack in which he raises said arms and slams them into the ground.
