Battle starts at 3:13. This is the boss of the Earth Temple and also the second boss in the game. You throw bombs at him when he's not ignited and then chuck bombs into his mouth while it's open, then slash his eye.
Impa had the nerve to scold Link for not arriving on time during Zelda's dramatic musical number, and yet she had no idea he was fighting an oversized fire rock monster next door.
Adam Malkovich the fact was they went past that before him. and she didnt insult. it was used to push him forward more determined. If you play tge whole game through you can see her intent. plus I mean she probably already knew the result
@@LeoneLaTwerk2 except they didn’t get past that before him…that thing wasn’t in there with them…only link…Impa and Zelda got to walk outside without any trouble
That part with Impa really hit me hard. I have no idea why but I felt so upset when she insulted me. I mean bitch I did the best I could. I can't do all of those cheap super jumps you can. I actually have to solve the puzzles the goddess made for me.
Bi$harp True. I know she was trying to light a fire in Link’s belly to keep him determined in the fights ahead, but she didn’t need to be so damn harsh about it.
I realized, after playing through the game again, that scaldera is actually the boulder you run from after getting the boss key. The dragon head swallowed it, and you see it "Digesting" it when you get into the boss room. then, you know, he turns into scaldera....
Reminds me of the Greek myth about Sisyphus. Condemned in Tartarus to an eternity of rolling a boulder uphill and then watching it roll back down again.
Was anyone else wishing there was an interactive cutscene here where you could fight Impa after her bit. "You were late." Yeah, no shit. Zelda had an entire day over you on the surface after the tornado.
Link isn't mute, we just never are given any dialogue of what he says. He does speak in answering a question and also, he spoke a could of times in the game, one time when talking with Gaepora about what happened to Zelda and then again when he told Groose where Zelda was when he came down to the surface. But both times, there are no texts of what he says. I guess the game makers thought it would be boring for the audience to read when they already know what's happening.
Why she especially had to say about Link he is late. What I don't like about Impa is that in some of Zelda games that she represents in, sometimes she angers Link with some yell words.
I mean sometimes she being hard on Link, like in the Zelda book Ocarina of Time the part when Link is adult he comes to the village because he felt so hungry when he was walking into Hyrule. he enters a house and eats food and drinks. When the lady said that she heard that Link defeated volvagia, at that point impa starts to be hard on him.
As a kid I was too scared to fight scaldera, seeing it as just a mouth on legs and hearing it getting closer and closer to the top- i couldn’t progress the game because of him, only like a year ago did I pick skyward sword back up and beat the game
I can only imagine how you would have reacted to the Redeads, Ghibdos, Dead Hand and (maybe) Bongo Bongo from Ocarina of Time, if you ever played it as a kid.......Those guys aren't exactly child friendly!
Impa: It took you far too long to get here. Looking at you, I fear the goddess is mistaken in her choice of agents. If this failure is any indication, you have no hope of defending Her Grace from those who seek to assail her. Link: Bitch please. It took YOU far too long to realize that I've saved Zelda countless times. Look whose talking girl with the depression tear birthmark on her face.
except it's the FIRST time link has saved zelda chronologically, at least in the timeline of zelda's history. in chronological order, skyward sword is the very first game, as in the origins of all the others.
1st time- Me: Oh god damnit! why is so hard! It's the second battle, this shouldn't be this hard! 2nd time- Oh mother of god, why do I have to face this gu--.... Oh it's only took 50 seconds to beat, interesting...
I actually died a few times on this boss. And that makes me happy. this game has satisfied my thirst for a challenge that Twilight Princess completely lacked. :p
nice done man. i have currently beaten the first three bosses in the game, and i gotta say they are alot harder than the ones from Twilight Princess. I did not die on this one and the scorpion, but ghirahim killed me alot lol.
Throwing bombs into its mouth while it inhales, then hit it after it explodes. Now where have I seen this before? Oh yeah; King Dondongo from Ocarina of Time. Damn it, Nintendo, if gonna rehash old battle strategies, can't you add at least one new thing to it to spice things up?
Impa: You're late. And you failed to protect her. Link: Bitch, I don't think you realize I would've came sooner if Mr. Demon Stripper didn't send an oversized flaming rock spider to chomp my ass cheeks off.
So did I. I killed every boss on my first attempt except the first Girahim battle because i was still getting use to the motion controls :P Nothing to be proud of.
i love it how i'm playing this for the first time and how over cautious i go about it- i ran up and down that hill like a yoyo! -in truth this ghibli-esk ball is far more like the oot dodongo- i couldn't wait to get in there and force feed him nutritious bomb flower numiness. loved the prowess- the sparks!- fire relm bossed are the best!
iop they have the endurance mechanic in later zelda games since its relativly new and could create some interesting boss fights like this one and i guess the fight with tentalus
@nintendolife25 In a way your right, but at the same time no (dont read if you dont want to be spoiled) Ghirahim's masters name is demise. After link beats him, demise places a curse on both link and zelda so that they would keep getting re-incarnated (which explains why every zelda game always have a different link and zelda. Since demise is already immortal, he also would get re-incarnated (Nintendo is basically saying that ganon is demise's re-incarnation.)
16th game of the Zelda franchise and they still haven't come up with a different way of defeating a boss other than hitting some eye or throwing bombs in the mouths.
@SonicBrawler1992 I died a LOT simply due to not knowing the mechanics of the fight. I only had an upgraded "sacred shield" (i think that's the name?) but so long as you time your blocks it doesn't break. Most strategies I'm reading mention no shields at all. But with demise I used it almost exclusively to open him for a strike.
I hate it when people think being a fan of a game means you're not allowed to criticize it. This is totally like the Dodongo boss except that it occurs linearly rather than on a circuit.
When I faced this boss it was almost similar to Dogodongo the one from Ocarina of time, when the creature open its mouth u gotta chunk a bomb in it and it will be vunerable, and to strike it :D
is this on your first run and/or take, and if it was, were you using a guide, because it seems you know the perfect thing to do during all of your fights
@WizardOnABike Exactly what I was thinking. When I was playing it, I didn't expect it to come at me so fast, and I was running for my life. It was quite scary.
@nintendolife25 Someone who hacked was able to hack the demo for this game found alot of information on it, such as speeches that the characters give and the ending.
@AlexPlaysGames By all means, before you know how to beat them, neither are easy. Then again, that isn't what I said. But when you know their patterns, it's all about timing your blocks, and whacking them.
@quicksilver2055 Maybe, but i haven't played too much (between 14 and 16 hours) because I have had tests throughout the last weeks :( So I have not had the opportunity to fight against Tentalus.
