It's weird that you mention the MCU and only reference Winter Soldier and then state that if you don't read the comics you won't know these people. This expansion is HEAVILY based on the TV show which many non-comic readers watch, but perhaps you don't watch and didn't realize..
Hm, normally I side with the comics image of characters but the Melinda May card seems wrong without Ming-Na Wen. Fun game, looking forward to getting the SHIELD set. Thanks, Tom! :)
As of this set, literally all of our stacks are face-down, unless you count the Villains things, which will never receive any updates. Wounds, Bystanders, Officers, Sidekicks... everything is face-down. So, I think we can realistically have the conversation: how much does it matter to keep everything face-down? All these stacks kind of make the game look extra bland with the Legendary logo all over the place. I probably would feel better if they were face-up and we had a lot more art looking at us.
Well, it matters. you have to keep it down, because before the update of stacks, every card was the same, so it didn't really matter if it was seen. With updates it is not OK to see if there is just Maria Hill card next in Officer Stack or special S.H.I.E.L.D. Officer. Because nobody wants to buy regular Maria Hill just to leave your friends with potential good officers. Same goes for sidekicks, bystanders and wounds. And if the back was different, it can make a lot of mess in tactics as you will know which card is next in your deck - which is quite game breaking as some of the cards count on probability/luck based on what is next in the deck. So even when it looks uneventfull, there are good reasons to keep it face down and have the same backs as other cards.

I bought base game based on recommendation and was like...ok....that was not that fun....then told to buy dark city because that "really fixed the game" so I managed to find a copy....and it was better but still quite meh. I come from Aeon's end so I suppose if you never played a deck builder other than dominion you may be more impressed.
