DAMMIT!!! I became a fan of Buffy just last year and I would totally watch the HELL out of Buffy Animated! The art style and animation looks great. It would've kicked alotta ass!!!!
Damn! I would kill to have seen a completed animated series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Even if it was just one season. It would've been better than nothing.
This could've easily been done. Buffy herself is a really interesting character. Before becoming the slayer she was a cheerleader and former gymnastic. My idea for the animated series is every season would take place in the summer. Buffy Descimating every vampire in her path.
After watching TAAOB, I recognised that Xander was playing with AVENGERS ACTION FIGURES AND A SERENITY REPLICA. In the words of Steve Rogers: _I GOT THOSE REFERENCES!_
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is 20 years old now? Uhg howd that happen so damn fast. That show was amazing and still kicks the pants off most things today.
This was a very nicely done video! :) I'm surprised there was no mention of the Buffy the High School Years comic series. It is still fairly new with only three comics released so far, but from what I've heard about them, they all take place during the first season. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the ideas for the animated series ended up getting put onto the comic book pages in this particular series of comics.
Since online streaming is popular, maybe the animated Buffy show could air on Netflix or maybe Hulu? that way it doesn't have to compete for time slots
Erod, you should do a follow-up to your Top 10 Fan Films you did a few years back call Top 10 Fan Film 2: The Sequel for all of your subscribers out there.
Well, Warner has experimented with animated web series like Vixen (located on the Arrowverse) and next to release Freedom Fighers: The Ray; In addition to the expected return of Young Justice. Maybe Fox decides to retake Buffy Animated as a web series. After all, they already have their own streaming application to compete against Netflix.
Batman Unchained (often referred to as Batman Triumphant) was the planned sequel to Batman & Robin, It was going to have Scarecrow as the villain and Nicolas Cage was offered the role. Harley Quinn would have appeared as a toymaker, written as the Joker's daughter trying to get revenge on Batman for the Joker's death. Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey as The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face and The Riddler respectively (they would return in Batman's mind as a result of the Scarecrow's fear toxins).
Star Wars Detours Transformers: Animated (Season 4) Cannon Films' Spider-Man Batman Unchained Superman Reborn Superman vs. Batman (2000s) The Flash (WB series)
I know you have a list for LoF and the comments are full of them to, so I'll add my list and see what comes of it. Batgirl (based on the Batman series from the 60s) Superman (based on the same Batman series... which was the original idea, I think) Superman (the film that Tim Burton and Nick Cage were in) Superman (the Kevin Smith film) Justice League (the one in the 80s or 90s, based on the JLI) The DC Superhero game show Aquaman (the spin-off from Smallville) Doctor who (this you can combine Shada with Tom baker and the McGann film relaunch, which allowed McGann to do a Big Finish version) Heroes Origins (interrupted by the writer's strike) Space Above and Beyond (okay, I like the show...) Star Trek Phase II (the second five year mission)
That's what Legends of Fandom is about: the shows that were almost, but not. It's why I requested the topics, so the full and researched story would be told by Erod. As far as I am aware: - Batgirl was pitched as a show before she was added to Batman, which was what contributed to the demise of the show. - Before Batman '66 was a show, it was pitched as Superman. I believe that became the musical It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, which later was made for TV. - The Justice League TV show had a pilot staring Ice, Fire, Flash, Atom, Guy Gardner, and Martian Manhunter. - Yeah, Okay, Superman Lives won't be a LoF, but I can still request it.
Mark, what was it you said? "Superman Lives: he said its unlikely he will do it, since the documentary covered it already." At least you didn't say "never", right?
ERod...what is your say on networks deciding to pander to preteens with shows like Titans Go and Powerpuff Girls 2016? Pushing perfectly good entertainment like Steven Universe into near extinction
Well, Buffy came about as a result of the success of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its spin-off Xena: Warrior Princess. Felt compelled to point that out. Prior to the very-imitated Hercules, fantasy action shows like this (with humor to boot) simply did not exist. Buffy is the most successful and, I certainly think, best of those which came in that wave.
On a different note, can you do a follow up video for your "Top Ten Hispanic Heroes" list, talking about some other Hispanic characters? Because I feel within the past few years there are a lot more Latino/Hispanic characters that are main characters in different tv shows and video games. Some on the top of my head are Lance from Voltron: Legendary Defender (he was confirmed to be Cuban by the show runners), Marco from Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Carmen Sandiego, Miles Morales, and more. You don't have, obviously, it's just an idea.
How about "Mystic Spiral" which would have been a spin-off of "Daria" (which was itself a spin-off of "Beavis and Butthead")? MTV closed down their animation department before the pilot could be made although the pilot script is apparently available on the "Daria" box set DVD.
Erod did you know that that that there's a Spider-Man series that most people don't talk about it only aired on MTV it's called Spider-Man the new animated series a suppose sequel to the original Spider-Man animated series only got 12 episodes end on a cliffhanger with Peter giving up being on Spider-Man
Not so much legends, but would love to know if there were future plans for a couple of series from the 80s: Manimal and Automan. Both series didn't even last half a season.
Wait... Robert Kirkman's Invincible comic stole a plot from the Buffy Comic? I'm just going to call this a coincidence because Buffy and Invincible are both awesome.
All the great ideas that have been shopped around Hollywood and never get picked up. And then things like the Emoji movie or Sex and the City 2 get millions of dollars thrown at them. SMH
Could you please do legend of fandom on Godzilla 3D to the max it a lost Godzilla film that was supposed to be 40 minutes and come out on 2007 and delayed to 2009 and Godzilla would fight deathla and they would fight in Los Vegas so could you please do it please
erod I'm sorry I'm a newbie to a Transformers I'm sorry I didn't know I thought you were in expert I'm still in Nubia Transformers prime to and it's the second Transformers annotation I've seen besides robots in Disguise please forgive me I thought you were an expert in Transformers I guess I was wrong please forgive me PS did you know Hasbro was considering making a 4th season Hasbro was considering making a 4th season of they four season when they were going to be space pirates in it too and also finding someone called Thundercon I think but because they were going bankrupt you decide to cancel the thing altogether and replace it with robots in disguise
It still needs to be addressed, dude. Not a lot of people know about the unmade 1994 American Godzilla that eventually became the 1998 fake movie of the same title. A video is indeed needed.
CARTOON NETWORK! You have some explaining to do! You had put out money to bring about season 2 of THE BIG O but you said No to this. YOU ARE PLANNING TO SHOW PART 3 STARDUST CRUSADERS OF JJBA (Which gets particularly gory in the second half with dogs being devoured by a falcon not to mention the previous parts also being too GORY for Japanese audiences). Yet they didn't get this series green lit? I'm really shocked that they've have not shown either one of GARO's anime despite their low quality (Same idea as Buffy only guys in armor, and less snarky). So very disappointed in CN.
First: the show ended, not due to ratings, network decision, completed story - but because *she* decided she was done. Now she didn't tell Joss, or anyone else involved. They found out when they read a random interview she had done. The entire cast and crew out of work, and she couldn't be bothered to mention it to them. Second: she went to Gencon one year. A friend of mine was present. He stands over 6.5' tall. You don't fail to notice him. They both were headed for an elevator. She bumps into him, and demands *his* apology. These are the two confirmed instances of her being a bitch that I have.
