LEGGY AEONIUM PRUNING: Cutting Back My 4' Aeonium Arboreum 

Welcome! My large Aeonium arboreum had gotten leggy & brittle & needed a good pruning. Time to whip out the Felcos - I completely cut it back! This is a common issue that many succulent enthusiasts face in the challenging climate of the Arizona desert - the summer heat!
Tucson isn't the optimum climate for growing these beautiful succulents, but I brought this one as a cutting from my garden when I moved here from Santa Barbara.
Tucson set heat records this past summer - this Aeonium wasn't happy! It got weak, dry, & very leggy, so it was time for an extensive pruning. I cut it all the way back, & was happy to give away many cuttings from this plant.
This may happen to your succulents at some point, so give them a good cut back & replant &/or give away the cuttings.
The cuttings I took have healed over, so I'll be doing a video soon showing how I plant them, so stay tuned!
