Do these guys look like they could March 20 miles and then build a fortified camp in one daY? No. Reenactors never look like they could physically do the job. American Civil War types are always too fat and too old. If you marched a lot,you get lean and mean. The Romans have become Italians.
@@proarte4081 do yo7 know the system the Romans used in numbering the legions is this the second legion organized in Italy or does i5 have to do wi5h where they were stationed or something else. I noticed when visiting in Scotland the unit on Hadrian’s wall was I think the Dacian legion so they must have used honorific names for some legions. Was there a consistent practice of some sort? Also how was the word “Legio” pronounced? I Have read that the Spanish city of Leon is is a derivative of the word “legion.” So was the g softened into a y sound?
