Commander Darth Vader is so good. Compel was such a cool addition for him. I wish Commander Luke would get an update like a command slot or something to refresh him a little bit as well

I remember a game after Vader's changes that made him not have jump and it saved my entire army. It forced him into a narrow passage and I focused fire killed him.

Vader's might with hostage exchange is op, just pulls your carrier 6" closer to scoring for no cost...

I remember using Darth Vader in my first tournament a little over a year ago and it took me a game to figure him out but damn was that burst of speed scary, a lot of the people playng against me didn't think to watch out for it and I had decimated AT-RT's who thought they were safe at a distance.

The thing with Fear and Dead Men for me is more like that some players simply wont shoot at Vader when he has this active in a round. Eather they simply dont deal any damage or get hurt themself.

Just got my Empire army fully together and have both the commander and op versions. Super helpful break down, kinda bummed I can’t run op Vader in Blozzard , but I understand a nerf was needed

WIth the changes to Deflect, they really need to add a "block:melee" style keyword to all jedi, so they don't get punched to death so easily

I miss Vader as I haven't played Legion in a year or more. Should put together a list with what I have painted

I originally started playing Legion as a Rebel Player. Well those few Empire models I had from core set have multiplied lol. I am building Dual At-St Blizzard force list currently. I have not used Vader in past, but Compel and Snowtroopers with 2 AT-ST behind them will look Great if nothing else. Anyone have thoughts on Gav Tank? really good deal online right now, but mainly was buying for pilot card. I only play at LGS so can proxy Card NP if Tank is not worth investment.

The change to Deflect was really silly imo, it is clear it was always intended to give surge to block in melee

I think you should go with Luke Skywalker next, just jump from one OG commander to the next.

I kinda didn't understand why I need to buy Darth Vader operative just to buy his cards and an extra mini of him. They should have just made a Luke and Vader operative card expansion instead of charging me a heck of a lot more for more minis I don't need and won't get to painting. On a side note, I've thought about converting my Imperial Assault characters for Legion. I still really love IA minis and their characters

7:14- So, that new keyword is for troopers near Vader can’t panic and run off the board?!? Ok, so I’m pretty sure that has been his ability since the beginning!?! Like it’s so OG that it’s even in the original rules book! Just never been on the card. And I’m pretty sure everyone came up with excuses why it wasn’t on the card!?! And also I thought the “new rules” made it so you couldn’t panic someone off the board now?!? So basically they finally clarified a old rule onto the card. But then took away the affects!?! Lol ok

Vader was a potato before the errata. I am glad they updated him so he feels like a real menace on the battlefield now. I just wait fornhim to get range three and then just dog pile dice at him and hope for the best lol. Another option i have seen some folks yse is force barrier when using an imperial gun line. Similar to GAR and Anakin

Do you think they'll sell errata cards? I love playing with original cards and everything, so having to use printouts to keep track of errata is a big bummer

11:44- I definitely agree with you on this! Well, all the way up until you explain it away by talking about the upgrade cards! But I still state that it’s something that didn’t need to be there or could have been part of the add on card also!?! Because even though everything can be explained away, I still see it as him being charged for something he can’t use, unless he adds more cost to him!!! What I mean by that is, what would his points be if he had the “downgraded” version of it or if all of that was on a upgrade card (and yes, a lot of other characters from other armies are affected by this as well)? And maybe it would have only saved him 10-20 pts for that, that 10 to 20pts could be huge when building your list! Nothing I’m saying is me saying this makes the game horrible in any way! And I’m not saying don’t play this game because of…….! It’s just one of those things that I thought of when I was first introduced to this game and I always wondered about! But also it made me think about how “if I thought of it right off the bat with putting very little thought into it, why on earth did the creators of this game also not think about it with the countless hours, days, months or even more of time thinking about it?!?”

Love Vader throughout but nothing hits hard than at the end of Rouge One Really want to use him more in Legion defo slapping burst of speed on him 🤣

Clearly you can talk about whatever you want on your videos but it definitely brings up questions when I see a new video that is all about a character that has been out for awhile!?! Either way, I do love Darth Vader (the actual character) but not so much in this game! Yeah he’s 8 health. But since he moves so damn slow he could easily be dead by round 3 or 4! And never be close enough to the enemy to do any damage!!! And yes I believe he is the highest health level in the Empire. But then if you look at the whole game I’m pretty sure Chewy is “stronger”!?! Yeah, ok! There are certain characters throughout this game that should definitely be able to add some kind of card to give them more health! But that might just be my opinion!?! And a lot of the rules that got changed in the last two changes have effected Vader a lot!!! To the point that either they need to drop his cost a lot more than they have, upgrade his health or attack amount or give him new keywords that automatically give him deflect or the green tokens so it’s just that much harder to kill him! There should be no way Darth Vader is killed off in the first two rounds with how powerful he should be and I’ve seen it and lived through it more times than I’d like to count!!!
