In my opinion: MK III Marines are a better choice lorewise then the MK VI ones. GW actually had to rewrite the lore to justify the all Mk VI heresy launch box since the MK VI was originally not available during the heresy. The AoD box would give you more marines, 10 ctaphracti and the larger Land Raider variant though. But if you ask me: If i had to choose between AoD and this new battlegroup i would recommend the battlegroup- just for the fact that you will get the more lore accurate Marines...

I would recommend getting both. Between the Age of Darkness Box and this you will have a really solid army for whichever legion you want

​@@Ferox2121MK-VI was available during the Heresy. It was test fielded by the Iron Warriors and Salamanders(They didn't like it). Last but not least it was tested during the Scalland campaign by and then adopted by the Raven Guard (it was named after Corvus Corax after all) and the Alpha Legion stole manufacturing plans for it and used it a bunch also. If the MK-VI hadn't been available during the Heresy, how would we justify the MK-VII Aquila armour present during the Siege of Terra? Now, on the subject of lore accuracy, yeah, GW kinda shoehorned the lore to get MK-VI into the Heresy proper.
